This was a great tutorial! I’m late to the dip party but just started dipping my natural nails this week. They aren’t long but I want to grow them. Would you recommend building an apex for natural nail application too, or only if you’re adding extensions? Thank you 🙏🏾

Im not the creator but i just did this method on my natural nails and it worked great, just skipped the horizontal line dip as we dont have tips to blend. My nails are about 1/2 inch past the fingertips and as they grow longer I was starting to feel strain on the nailbed. Apex isn't always needed but i do like the look of my nails better with it. Hope that helps!

    Hi babe!
I bought your colour kit and this is my first time using it, I used this method and it worked beautifully for my trial nails. And after 10 minutes I realised that the no.2 (base) brush was rock hard and the product was so thick and gloopy. I’m so sad because I’ve spent a lot on Australian shipping and after one use I can not longer apply sns. Was just wondering why this happened so I can avoid it in the future.
This is how I did it
    1. Applied the natural powder (using your 1-4 rule), applied seal protect and waited 90 seconds
    2. Applied colour and then seal protect and waited 90 seconds
    3. Applied clear and seal protect and waited 30 seconds (this part I messed up, was wondering adding another layer of seal protect/base made the brush go rock hard)
Thank you! Any response would be highly appreciated and I love your videos.

    • @lovebug6388

Yep! Also this allows you to NOT have to remove every set entirely but backfill only if you want to keep the same color or file down to the clear layer and do a different color.

    • @lovebug6388

@@christinaway-lucas9522 similarly to how you would do an acrylic or gel fill: 1) Remove topcoat and dip color with 180 grit hand file or cross cut diamond bit on an e-file. During this step take down length of nail if client desires. 2) Remove dead skin off nail plate and clean up cuticle area. Check for lifts and cracks. 3)Apply the prep liquid to the new growth on the nail plate and where you are doing any repairs. 4) Apply base gel dip in CLEAR. Repeat until the cuticle area is how you like it and the repairs are completed. Then move to rebalancing the nail and placing the apex back in zone 2 since it shifted forward. 5) File and shape the nail how you want it and activate once it is to your liking. 6) Proceed with the normal dip color application.
This is MY recommendation. I will use a thin CLEAR of acrylic or gel if I want to use color on the nail without having to soak off an entire set. It saves time AND product. Hope this helps!

    • @KayyDiiorrr
      @KayyDiiorrr 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes because this is what makes the nails last longer and not break as easily also the apex is the weak point. You build it up to be stronger and a lot of nails break because the apex was too weak to handle the tension.

I am excited to try this method because I do not like flat nails but I had to keep rewinding the video because you talked really fast through the video....especially the end. Please keep doing them but have mercy on us newbies. Also you solved 3 issues for me with your protips...Thank You!!

if you are not using tips, but have medium length nails, do you still do that first step where you add powder were the tip connects?

I found a trick somewhere here on YT and I can't find the video to link it for you...But the trick is to pour acetone in a Ziploc bag, put your hand in the acetone bag and into a bowl of warm water or as hot as you can handle....then they come off in about 2-3 minutes! works for me every time. I've done this method for dip powders with tips. Good Luck!

Can you do this on a naturally long nail with no tip? Do you put the stripe across the nail if you don’t use a tip? And what if you don’t want to use an e-file?

I've done this twice. But I don't know if I'm doing enough layers. I am always a tip and dip and gel polish kind of girl. But these extra apex do I do these before the steps for tips, dip and gel polish? Or how does that work? Always I'm having issues with the dusting part. Like hard acrylic like stuff is stuck on my pink brush. And also it seems like the base doesn't go on the nail evenly on entire nail sometimes I'm brushing more on. It just doesn't seem as smooth and yours in your videos. And another thing is it seems like after I put base on then dip and the whole process the product likes to kinda hang out at the end of the tip and it goes away when I file but I don't notice it on yours. what am I doing wrong? Thank you. I hope you can help me with all these questions. Oh also my first time my base brush came out of the little stick and broke apart and I emailed customer service and haven't heard a response. Thank you

Do you rub the base in on last step right immediately after you apply it?

In this video you build an apex by applying base and powder where the nail/tip meet and then by going straight down the middle in sections 2 and 3. In other dip videos this method is not used. Just the regular way the dip system instructions advise. Which is the better way? Or is it more of a follow what works for you?

I think it really depends on the style of the nail, with the stiletto or a nail tip that gets smaller at the end. Adding more in the center makes the nail tip stronger and helps with structure distribution.
