i love it when i do the exact same thing and something different happens.
There are no mistakes, just happy little accidents
Well I HATE it but ok you weirdo
😂😂😂😂😂 Wow dude. Same hereeee
There is no "Bake" option for me
BOB ROSS?
deletes cube.....then adds cube....LOL
F
oof
Even if you add a cube, you need to respect the legacy of deleting the first one
You always gotta delete the default cube. Nobody likes it.
You have to delete not just the cube but all of which is default added just to show how to add them. Cause this is a Beginner tutorial.
Delets default cube
Blender: ok
Adds a cube
Blender: m I a joke to you?
LOL
I PREDICTED THIS COMMENT WORD FOR WORD
i am proud
😂😂
@@hawshimagical Me too :D
It is THE LAW.
At this point its second nature to delete the default cube.
00:08 those water trinkets rolling down in pixelated cubes
HOT DAMN REALISTIC
Just need to let the water sim bake for a week 👨🍳
@@3DTinkerer bruh you got GTX 1080 *-* ,
Me here with my amd r9 380 ;- )
*no tears , only dreams now*

If only physics simulations were calculated on the GPU...
@@virtualfroggy Lol using blender on old Macbook air. :)
I have watched a lot of Blender Tutorials. You by far explain things in an easy to digest way. Good Job.
Thank you so much for this, helped me three years later! I was trying to figure out how to get water running down a waterslide and now it finally makes sense! saved me
I learnt how to make a water simulation yesterday but I could never find how to make it look like water, thank you so much!
Marvelous. Thanks for this.
love your channel!!
This is basically the only helpful water tutorial I've seen yet!
Thank you for the tutorial!!
Thanks, ill be using inflow for my scene where I recreate the shining elavator scene
Amazing tutorial, im trying to learn to use blender after I destroyed sketchup. Plz make a tutorial on all the tools you can use to edit simple shapes
Thanks for this! I thought I had to get an add-on for fluid simulation, because I messed around with the physics setting and didn’t know how to make it work.
That greeting cube had a family god damnit
Your explanation is very helpful! Thank you
Thanks!
The default cube is the most deleted 3d object ever.
Great tutorial mate!
Nice to know the process hasn't changed since I last did it, maybe I should get a new rig someday and I can have a 2nd one for baking XD
Definitely would be a serious setup. Just make sure all your folders are setup correctly for transfering bake files!
Very cool. Thank you
Amazing Tutorial 🔥🔥👍
Thanks Bro helped a lot for our Film!
Its so nice thank you
How to turn your graphics card into grill tutorial
It helps in the winter
I literally have only 2 GB to work with.
tried to bake the simulation. Sits at 0% for 10 minutes. - Nvm
You mean how to turn your potato into a grill?
Actually you cannot simulate blender physics with gpu
What do you think of the upcoming Manta fluid solver, as well as FLIP for Blender?
Any comparisons?
I love how the menu in just about every tutorial I have done is different. I believe I am on 2.9. Welp lets see how this goes. Thanks for the vid!
The one downside to rapid development. You get more blender features, but the damn thing changes every week lol.
@@3DTinkerer Yep, I just started and a lot of tutorials have different things
Thanks a lot!!!
btw thanks for the tutorial :D
Another way to eliminate the dark glass issue (Which isn't realistic) is to set the Clamping under the render settings for both direct and indirect transmission to 0.
The Default setting of .2 might be good for performance, but it instantly makes a default glass shader rather dark.
excellent tutorial
i can't select "inflow"
and i can't bake
You have to select "flow", then click on the dropdown menu next to "flow type" and click on liquid. Then, next to "flow behavior", click on the dropdown menu and select "inflow".
For your "bake" problem, you go to "cache", then next to "type", click on the dropdown menu and select "Final".
@@Splazsh Thanks!
@@Splazsh oh and also. it doesnt look fluid. only fire and smoke works. liquid doesnt work. and even when i bake it it doesn't show the effect
@@dyboszek8057 same problem... :(
wow i love this video
Thx, very helpfull, like
thanks for the tut
This is the first time I have watch fluid simulation. I have a question. How would you do a hydraulic fluid simulation in a pipe?
Awesome
How do you eliminate the jittery mesh. It seems to intermittently shake and vibrate, then connect and disconnect to other parts of itself.
Thank you
3D tinkerer: deletes default cube
Me: I think hes gonna use plane
3D tinkerer: adds another default cube
Me: 🙂🔫
Does Fluid Bake use up regular RAM or the GPU's VRAM, when it gives the memory size value?
thank you
Not sure how much it would change results, but would be interesting to see if you changed the IOR of glass shader to match that of water (1.33 I believe)
Good suggestion, I will try that. It's one of those settings I always forget about lol.
Mine keeps saying no active image found and a material or bake external file. How do I correct this? I followed everything you did exactly.
1:45 Holy Heck! The UV sphere is straight drippin'!
I love it when he delete the default cube then add the same cube
Why don't you get Blenderkit? It has a few water materials which you can just drag and drop if you're in a hurry and it'll look much better.
I learned about blenderkit after I made this video 😅.
There are more things I wished i did in retrospect.
What’s blender kit?
@Claus Bohm thank you!!!
We dont want materials! We want splashes! (geometry)
sorry, how you did make that water no going trough barrel? Barrel is being support for water
Thanks.
Can I render this in Eevee instead of cycles since I don't have GPU?
After creating the UV sphere and selecting fluid the only options I have are none domain flow and effector there's no inflow also I'm not seeing a bake option.
The water simulation can be used without a domain?
is it possible to make blender use your GPU to bake?
How does this work in version 2.8.2 and beyond? Only seeing 4 fluid types (domain, flow, effector, none)
do you know how to make a cube be liquid? like for it to just turn into liquid
first and foremost thank you for the video great stuff... second if I wanted to use another software like Lightwave 3D or Houdini or even Cinema 4D how would I be able to save the vdb files and export them from Blender 2.8? I can't find the answer anywhere..
I think that blender can import smoke simulations via VDB but I have not been able to find anymore information. I am not too aware of the common file format for programs like Houdini. Maybe try a different format?
What did that default cube ever do to us?
How do i render the fluid textures in blender.
Hey, im at 2.82 and i cant find the Bake menu in physic tab, any idea?
How do you alter where the water lands?
i want sumilate the water that is in the bottle and by rotation of the bottle the water spreads out .how could i do it?
bake option are not visible!! and i don't find it! help!
PLEASE NOTE:
Blender 2.82 uses a new water simulation tool called Mantaflow. I have posted an updated version here: th-cam.com/video/e3mhJXuveFo/w-d-xo.html
Could you let us know how the new system compares to the old one?
How to use it
Thanks for this I was trying to follow along and didn't have the bake options for the fluid physics on the uv sphere
ahhhwww man it was fun until it lasted
Well damn
nice video
The required memory is system RAM right? Not VRAM? So this all depends on CPU speed * core count, I assume.
I DID THIS TUTORIAL AND IT's very easy to understand; but i don't have the same render in blank like you ? It's a mesh render no volume inside! Do you know why ?
can i export the water animation to lumion?
do you have to bake it again after every change you make...?
Pretty much. That's why I recommend tweaking settings at lower resolution to save time.
The only time you don't have to rebake is when you do things like tweaking shader settings.
Alternative title: “how to start a fire in the computer lab”
How can I fix the volume of water, it's gonna flow forever can I limit it?
Why am I not seeing the same options in my version of Blender? I am running version 2.81. Are these add-ons?
Have you set your render engine to cycles? It's in the render tab. By default it is set to eevee.
@@3DTinkerer god bless this answer
mine drips down like molasses. How do you make it splash like that?
Why can't I find the bake button? Worse still, I can't even find the bake tab
Why did you delete the default cube and then add another one?
would this work if exported to ue4?
can you repeat the vid using the latest version of blender
excusme sir, can i ask a question? maybe its little bit out of topic. I just tried to make smoke effect in my project for school homework using blender 2.8.3 version, but in the viewport mode the smoke wasn't visible, then i tried to make new work space with factory setting and the smoke effect just run well, can u help me what's wrong with the first work space? thank you.
Sorry, this video uses an older version of blender. The new simulation system in Blender shares some of the same concepts, but the buttons are moved around. Try googling "blender manta flow."
While its definitely a cool feature, the water system is something that needs a rework. Blender is really amazing but it always hurts me in the heart when I see an Animation and can tell that it is made in Blender because of the water.
Yeah it could use some love. There does seem to be some good alternatives such as flip fluids, but it costs $70. I think water sim was just another one of those features that was merged into the master branch and didn't get much love afterwards.
At least Blender 2.8 is proving to be a powerful modeling software!
question, how do i extend the animation more than 250 frames? Thank you!
At the top right of the timeline there are two inputs. By default they are set to 0 and 250. Change the 250 value to whatever you would like your animation time to be.
Thank you so muuchh!! Great vid btw, I learned a lot.
h
My blender didn't display the options to select baking.. The only drop down here is Fluid
Can i import it to unity
i dont have inflow in fluid nor mentaflow. Please help.
It was a good video. and thnx for mentioning that it won't work in 2.82 or above

***** Very Nice*********
i used a later version of blender and tried using water physics
it was an accurate representation of a liquified nuclear bomb.
what gpu yoou using?
Hello, can you help me ?
I don't have an "obstacle" in the "type" tab and I don't know how to make it appear there...
This tutorial no longer works search for a 2.82+ (mantaflow) tutorial instead
i did everithing like the tutorial said but the water looks like a grey texture without any light
Mine only shows particles (blue droplets) falling off, no dripping liquid. Any advices?
Me too
Uhhhmn my whole influence thing fills in like 10 seconds how do I make it not pump out so much
Nice, but how can i make my pc run for it???
I don’t see the obstacle in fluid type, help!!??
If you have Blender 2.82 this video is no longer correct.
The new fluid sim is called Mantaflow.
0:24 Deletes Block.
0:32 Adds another Block
300 IQ.
I m gonna install the latest version
in the render view, my water only shows as a whitish mate liquid, no transparency or anything, i followed what he did eactly
Hey can someone help blender isnt rendering the glass
Is there any way to make surface looks wet. After contact with water.?
Google dynamics paint Blender
@@3DTinkerer thanks
Pls I am trying to do this. But my water simulation after baking shows an atom like substance. How can I change it to get real water effect
This video uses an older version of Blender. I am uploading a video tomorrow that is updated. I apologize for the confusion!
is there a add-on that i have to enable for the bake thingy
If you are on Blender 2.9, they have changed the liquid simulation tool. A an updated version has been posted to my channel.
@@3DTinkerer thank you for your response
i dont have those options, HELP`?
