I enjoy using badger hen hackle, applied thick or thin at the collar. Try it on your hair's ears (or your own ear) behind the bead. Works well. The fish say it looks like a fine snack wearing a dress. I'm OK with that.

Lance, would you consider using that new swiss multi-tool to spin that dubbing in order to make it more durable? Or is it fine as is?

I wouldn’t. It’s better to dub flies like this without a tool.

Is there a specific purpose for the "furnace" colored hackle? Or could you use the rest of the purple Saddle Hackle you used for the tail? I was just curious to the color change.
