I love the feel of the Optik glove. Does the Genetik IV feel close to the same closure angle as the Optik? Im planning on getting the Genetik IV pads and blocker but was leaning towards the Optik glove.
The closure angle is not the same between the Optik and GNetik. I'd seriously suggest attempting to try on a GNetik, as I was going to get an Optik glove with my set and am very happy I didn't.
@@HockeyReviews i definitely will try one on before i buy anything. Thanks for the reply back. Ur reviews on the Gnetik IV pads is what made me want to buy some. Keep up the good work!
The GnetikIV is a 45 degree closure. HOWEVER, it’s important to note that Brians measures their angle from the Y axis (vertical) whereas other manufacturers (Bauer, CCM, etc.) measure it from the X axis. So, a Brians 45 degree is a 55 degree for comparison sake, which is between the 590 and 600.
I'm forever looking for something that compares to the break of my old Heaton 10 glove. Do you have any experience with that glove and, if so, can you comment on how the G-Netik IV may compare?
I used a Heaton10 before I stopped playing for many years. When I resumed skating , I bought a Gnetik1, as I felt it was most similar to the Heaton. I prefer a glove that opens up wide, but feel like the Gnetik 3&4 have a more narrow feel. I’m guessing that’s what the majority of goalies prefer, so Brian’s made the change. For me, the Gnetik 1 is my favorite glove ever, it just feels like an extension of my hand. Have you found a glove to give you that old Heaton feel?
@@Jason-zc9on Hey Jason! Thanks for the info! I actually went with a complete setup from Factory MAD. His glove isn't an exact match for an old Heaton, but I really like it.
Does this feel at all like a vaughn 5500? I realize it has been a while since you had the 5500 but it has the look and seems to have a similar break angle and the way it snaps close similar to the 5500.
Did you order the glove through goaliemonkey or through brians website to get that broken in feel with the protection or does it matter which? Im thinking about ordering a set soon.
I just ordered a pro palm through a different retailer. Brian's breaks in their gloves before sending them out. All retailers should get a similar result
You mean the custom wrist system I got put on instead of the BOA? But please show me road hockey gear that has a clunky wrist system haha. All road hockey gloves I've seen are floppy and the exact opposite of clunky.
I completely agree this has been my favorite glove I’ve used by far
Plz get a warrior set and review
I feel like this is the perfect opportunity for me to tell you to reach out to Warrior on social media and tell them to send a demo set my way!
What material did you select for the back side of the “T” was it the Matte black ? Love that colour accent .
Yeah, it was the Matte black. Don't put it on any rubbing spots though!

Seems like it has come a long way from the g netik 2 glove, I disliked my 2 so much I sold it.

What would a 35 degree closure be
How does it compare to the Bauer 2X?
Brian's closes better and I'm a fan of the break angle on the GNetik more than the 2X.

Honestly, I never used the Heaton so I can't help you there. I would reach out to Brian's and ask them.

Did you pick these up off of goaliemonkey?
No, not sure why people keep asking that
Hockey Reviews because if you did, I would be able to know what specs they offered.
In your opinion, does it take a lot of force to close the glove?
Not at all, basically the easiest and best closing glove their is.
Gross

It’s actually gorgeous I want this mitt so bad
