    Well you blew it! The very best magazine from a 72 yr old vet that has owned and owns every magazine you could imagine and some you don't know about. is...The HK contract 1994-95 maritime magazine. I bought a case, yes a case of them when I had a chance. they are machine tight welded seems no spot welds at all. it is in itself a masterpiece of engineering. It is as smooth as a tuned 1911 series 70 completion pistol. the folder does not wiggle at all. it's HD SS coated with Teflon or some such coating. It is a work of art! but, it's heavy so the na y seals dropped contract because when you add up thier load out, if you use SS plain Dura or C mags etc which awesome and pmags, you can carry more at least one extra mag of ammo. if you want
    ounces mean pounds and pounds means pain. They still make a seamless version maritime magazine, not mark military and police for their scar. half FDE and half black part inside mag well. You need to bring back the video and edit it. if you ever got your hands on a new 1995 HK magazine, you would understand the absolute quality of thier manufacturing. the spring does not stack, and is smooth as silk. stick your little finger in there are no sharp edges. sorry but That HK mag is the finest quality mag ever made. nuff said.

    • @SOSdoorgunner69
      @SOSdoorgunner69 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @joemiller410 I bought a case of 50 for 48.00 each about ten years ago from an acquaintance that owns asn buys the weirdest stuff. he is class 3 and every other permit you could get. has a big wonderful gun shop in Manchester NH. but I don't think he has any more as I bought all of them. they had a couple rubber see through bags on the floor under the shelves of other stuff I asked to see what are those 3 or 4 items? Whwn I seen qhat they were I asked how much for these. someone came in and aold.them to him. he said 48.00 as I know him and I knew that was cheap. he said I have 48 more down stairs in storage. I asked if I could buy them he said sure. end of story out came the Credit card. I sold most of them and made enough to actually paid for the
      other half. 100.00 each when you could sell them on Flea-bay. The Scar mags when they came out seem to be using b the same ones but they were and maybe still half painted FDE. those are available but your are right they are 50.00 each. I checked them and they seem exactly.the same manufacture . so I pretty much got mine free lol. I know that does not help you but keep you eyes open. sometimes shops get guns in with a bunch of mags in trade or just buy used guns so you might bump into them. most guys don't know what they ate just steel mags and everyone in gun shops are pmag blind. pmags are good but like a Bic lighter they are made good, look good but when they are done they are done and you throw them out. they are throw away mags.plastic lips get brittle etc. That's why the Lancer mags are OK. they have that steel upper part. I like those too. he got that eight in video it's second to the HK mags

    I started out with P-Mags and moved to Lancers when I started storing pre-loaded mags. I'd heard Lancers were better for this than P-Mags because with the all plastic P-Mags it was said the plastic feed lips deformed when stored loaded long-term due to spring pressure and that Lancers don't due to their metal feed lip construction. In addition the translucent Lancers let you see what's in them as well as how full they are. With mine I can easily see the difference between 5.56 and 300BO Supers and see if any mixing has occurred. Finally the Lancer metal feed lips are large enough to label the cartridge/Gr specs with a silver sharpie and can wipe it off with isopropyl and re lable if it's reloaded with a different round.

    • @frankyeilding2546
      @frankyeilding2546 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      PMAGS have a cover you can snap on, this relieves all the pressure from the feed lips and keeps debris from getting in.
      Not saying Lancers aren’t good, just that the feed lip pressure criticism is not valid.
      Also there are videos you can find of PMAGS that have been loaded for 10 years and function perfectly.
      Which was really more about the myth of keeping the spring under tension in any magazine, not PMAGS.

      @frankyeilding2546 Thanks, I have the cover/clips for the P-Mags. I use those for bulk ammo that's all one type, so seeing the rounds to ID the type isn't important.

But the new gen works perfectly fine, people need to start washing the bad taste out of their mouth. I've had a dozen or so Hexmags in my rotation for the past year or so, had em all loaded up for 6 month's straight before I took em to the range. Many years of shooting, I’d only recommend the Magpul mags especially if you were to rely on only one make of magazine during any emergency. Warning on Lancer mags, fill one up and smack it on the bottom and you’ll be greatly disappointed as rounds will fly out which is what happened to me with an open bolt as I inserted a full Lancer mag and smacked the bottom as I always do making sure it’s in well and rounds flew out. As for Duramags, they’re well made mags but their 308 LR/SR Versions don’t seat as well as the Magpul. #1Pick is MAGPUL for AR15 and AR10 platforms and with thousands of rounds and ZERO failures.

    I've tested over 60 different brands/models of AR mags and my top-3 (in really no specific order, so alphabetical it would be) are: Daniel Defense, Magpul PMAG Gen2 and Troy Battlemag. A lot of good mags nowadays, but only those 3 never failed in all my tests.

    I bought a several mag pack of c-products around the time of the Obama election and they had several flawed mags. The body wasn’t welded consistently straight causing them to be too tight in magwells.

    • @muddyhotdog4103
      @muddyhotdog4103 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yup, just commented something similar.. I still see it on their newer production Duramags mags too.. Their qc is very sloppy (like you said the welds aren't straight along with crooked stampings etc). The stainless steel mags are less effected I've noticed, but the ALuminum ones are junk.. imo.

    • @whatfreedom7
      @whatfreedom7 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@muddyhotdog4103 not familiar with duramag. Is it owned by c products? Now I have some D&H mags also tajt I haven’t shot with yet but the build quality is supers compared to the c products. On the CP the welds are little and uneven vertically and horizontally just very inconsistent and inconsistent width of the mag body itself. The D&H has large spot welds and is evenly spaced both directions with no inconsistencies in width that I’ve noticed. They also stamp the production date which is nice. They also have anti tilt followers.

      ya when you use them once and dump it and reload. no one in battle goes around picking up pmags and using them over and over. back in 69 we got bandoliers of 20 round steel mags. and leftbthem.right where they fell. then grabbed cloth bandoleers with 6-8 magazines as many as you could carry and go. plastic mags are plastic mags. each time you use them they get exponentially weaker than steel.

    My primary mag choice is MagPul PMAGs followed by Lancer. I shoot 300 BLK exclusively and standard 5.56 mags have worked in all my guns with NO issues at all. I have only one (1) 300 BLK PMAG and I honestly can not see the difference in it over the standard 5.56 PMAGS. Even though I don't personally have a 5.56 gun, I have caliber bands on all my mags so that everyone at the range, or training class, or whatever know what they are loaded with.

    I like the idea of steel/aluminum, but I watched some of Magpul oldest test videos and I’m pretty convinced they are tough.
    Question I had was M2 vs M3 Magpul and the 308 variant magazine in 110/118 window magazine what the difference is. I think the M118 magazine is curved and slightly longer for large rounds.
    Another thing is I’ve heard that a half full lancer magazine will spill the rounds if dropped, so it’s potential to cause a malfunction.
    Also I’ve seen the Surefire MAG5-60 being used with 458 Socom
