Wow. You’re exactly what I’ve been mulling around in my mind. I’ve dyed scarves in my plant dye and wondered about now applying cyanotype with plants over for pattern and my original dye showing through instead of the white. I’m sooo excited. I’m an encaustic artist and printmaker as well as bookmaker.

Do you need to frame the piece after applying the cold wax? Or is it sealed and preserved under the wax? Why do you use the heat gun? Do you ever use hot wax for anything?

Shari, this turned out beautiful. Can you please explain how those tiny light shapes in the background were created. Also can you spritz water on the photo paper before or during the process.

Hi Sheila I think you are probably seeing and referring to what occurs in the wet cyanotype process, which I do go into in a lot of depth in the workshop here coming up , and thank you so much !

Beautiful result Shari. Thank you. I didn’t see you fuse after the oil stick. Will the oil stick rub off as you buff this work in the future?

Hi Leigh-Ann You can give it a really light fuse but it will also have to dry before buffing . If you wait until it dries it will not rub off when buffing :)

Hi Shari - why do I only get the 404 Error when I take the link to the workshop?

    • @ShariReplogle

Hi Monika thank you so much for letting me know! I think I have all the links fixed now :)

@@ShariReplogle Yep - now it works. Thank you!
BUT... you should look over all your links because most of them do not work (That dammdes 404 ...)

Would have been nice if you’d explained what you were doing rather than just talk about your courses. It’s a beautiful piece but apart from the gouache & final colouring, I have no idea what you did. I get that you want to encourage people to come to your workshops, but most of us can’t
