    How do you think this makeover is coming along so far?
    It was very tough, that for sure!

    I'm so curious about the story behind this neglect. Obviously, this was once a well cared for and expensive home. What a transformation you are making!

      It certainly used to be cared for, and yes it looks expensive, but sad facts of life happens. We know the surviving older spouse can be advised to sell and downsize, but cannot judge, it can be overwhelming.

    If the outside looked that bad, I can't imagine how the inside is! Sad it was let go this bad!! You will be a hero for tackling this one, for sure!

    • @Lucinda_Jackson
      @Lucinda_Jackson ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You never know. Sometimes people can't keep up with a yard, especially of that size, but the inside is doable. Or it could be a complete mess! There could be water infiltration from damage to the roof and guttering, too...

      Maybe the house has just been sold and it was too big of a job for the new owners? The front lawn looked pretty good. Or the house is unoccupied.

    • @johnlang4198
      @johnlang4198 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      It's occupied by the uncle (if memory serves me correctly) of the guy that contacted Jason. Unfortunately, the occupant is a hoarder, and that can be a mental illness.
      Thankfully, Jason took the job on, and to the extent that the occupant let him, he did clean it up. As it was it was a mammoth effort that we're slowly seeing unfold. This is only part two of six or seven. The final product will be a massive improvement on what was there.

    • @jamiepowell3488
      @jamiepowell3488 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @John Lang that's sad. Yes, hoarding is a mental disorder. Hopefully, they can get the help they need.

    I love watching you - you stand back and throw up your hands as if defeated! But you turn around and go right back in for more. If you were trying to get the vines to let their guard down, it wasn't working! 😂 Please never change - your editing is fun and leaving in your chatty bits and dramatic hand gestures keep us invested and cheering you on!
    Can't wait for Part 3!!

    This is absolutely amazing. You're a trooper for tackling this BEASTIE. It's such a lovely lot, potential for amazing bbq, family gatherings, children's garden... I hope the interior is salvagable. It would be a real shame to lose this home. The vines are a nightmare, that keeps on giving. Holy hell....

    Those vines are crazy thick! Don't beat yourself up for it taking so long. Normally, you can just pull vines off of houses by hand but these vines are something else. You're doing a great job and I'm sure the homeowner appreciates being able to see out of their windows again. Be careful on the roof next week. Maybe have a spotter just in case. Thank you for making the world a better place by helping out this homeowner.

    You deserve a medal for taking this whole job on, those vines are a pain to say the least!
    I did a garden with a similar vine I ended up soaking the woody roots in a good weedkiller, then revisited over a number of sessions eventually the roots were killed and the soil cleaned out.
    I feel you'll find the vines on the roof will dry out and fall off too, now you've cut the food supply to them.
    Take care of yourself 🥇

    When I spotted this new video up I was so happy! Far out, what a friggin mission! Those vine things are such a menace! Any idea what it is? Terrible stuff, should be banned. I reckon that was once quite a beautiful place. Too bad it got out of hand but you are bringing it back, Jase! I couldn't believe it when you uncovered that big urn and then that ginormous big weed mass with the matted bottom - wow, I've never seen anything like it. It must be just amazing for sunlight to pour in through the French doors and the window now!! It must have so dark and dreary for years. Excellent job, Jase. Hope you had a good lunch and drank lots of water after this marathon effort. Can't wait for the next one!
