Jacob just looked so relaxed during both his races. He was just looking around and waiting until he needed to take off. He had no problem at all winning this even though at 17 he should not have been at this level yet. He could become the one non-African to break up the distance events globally in the future.
I wouldn't go as far to call him the best European distance runner, there have been much more acomplished runners such as Coe, Mekhissi or Stefano Baldini, but I agree Jakob is the most Exciting emerging talent not only in Europe, but around the World along with Rhonex, Cheptegei and Kejelcha, and a sure bet to become the greatest in Europe in a few years time!
Turning the head and celebrating before crossing the finishing line will cost the runner some seconds as one will naturally slow down and worse still someone might just overtake.
i don’t think i’d call 4th and 5th losing big; he just barely missed the podium. that’s pretty good for a 19yo runner competing on one of the biggest stages in athletics. to be the best in Europe before you peak means you’ve got a fair shot at some day being the best in the world
7:12 I felt bad for the french guy hahahahahaha
Henrik is such an OG.
After 4 years.... The story continues
Must be an amazing feeling to finish with your brother 1 2
8:17 Jakob knew they could win the race at this point, so he wanted a low five from his brother. Believe it or not, but it's true.
Haha that mid-race low-five. Incredible race.
Team Ingebrigtsen! Love it
Who knows if Jakob has planned to go on 10.000m one day ? Because I'm sure he will be a master class killer on this distance...
8:20 they are THE BROTHERS::beautiful RUN

Nice first longer Video about this Race. Have been in the stadium 😻
I have been waiting and searching, now finally i could watch this again 😎😎💪💪💪💪
Love this race some of my favourite athletes ran
Looks like he has just arrived from another universe. Absolutely the best European distance runner in history after Mo Farah.

Mo Farah is not even native european!
You forgot to mention Lasse Viren.
Who is Mo?

Sería muy bueno que algún día ésta nueva figura de los 5k se enfrente con Bekele, Eliud kigchoque!! Saludos desde Barranquilla, Colombia!!
7:12 After seeing Morhad Amdouni in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics marathon event I don't feel so bad about this little incident anymore, lol
They kept saying his final lap was 56 but it was 54.
Yeah, they show the bell just as they passed the line, but it must have been very close to 12:23 and he finished in 13:17
not even half of the race is in the video😞
His older brother kept clearing the runners out for his brother. Very smart. Tired them out playing leapfrog like that. 👍🏽
Classy! Poetry in motion...
2:05 the start!
Great Family ...
Guess who I am gonna watch running tonight👆🏽
Ринас крассава!! 13:24 👏☝️. God bless👏
Most exciting emerging European talent. Wonder if he can topple the Africans in the next 3-4 years
@Jin p only Cheruiyot is ahead of him now.
He has his names mate and agemate Kiplimo to tussle it out with for years
I would be happy to see three Ingbristen running with Salomon Barega and other mighty Ethiopians
You’ve already seen them - 5000m World Championships 2019 in Doha
Why was Isaac Kimeli disqualified?
good job brother
That was funny with Crippa and Mechaal

He needs to play with the Steeplechase.
He did

Shame, I reckon Andy Butchart would’ve medalled if he hadn’t been injured
Random Guy it is part of the game
I agree, he would've been a hot medal contender if he had been in the final
1 Kenyan and it’s game over for the europeans
Kenyians cannot participate on all races
Lol, how this comment has aged! Ingebrigtsen defeated Cheruiyot already.
Soooo boring commentator
terrible comentator
Four letters for Norway - WADA
Why?
One Word for you. Clown
Hmmm...looks awfully "easy" to me, too easy. The Norwegians know a little about endurance enhancing.
?
?
I think it was relatively easy for Jakob. Because he was very young then. Lots of fresh energy. His brother seems to be struggling much more
And losing big in Doha coz only good at European level 👎👎👎👎

He just had 2 bad races.
This aged well. Fastest 5000meter in the world in 2021 and Olympic champion on 1500. Not bad for someone that is only good at European level.
