this game was so insanely good. I never remember seeing it in an arcade though!
This game looked so futuristic back in the mid 90s. We have came a long way.
Well, this game surely has better playability than most games today. It's all graphics and endless video sequences, and long-drawnout missions that take millions of years. I like old intense games like this, to the point and lots of action. It has soul. Most newer games don't. Just made to make money.

What kind of drugs were they on when they decided to NOT give this game a home console port? If it was the violence, then how come Mortal Kombat and Splatterhouse got ported?
i know right. I believe if this was ported to SNES the SNES would've handle this because of the graphics.

It's finally getting a port this year.
The Game master The SNES would have struggled a lot with this game. It would have had to be severely cut in animations and amounts of enemies on screen. Just compare Battletoads in Battlemaniacs with this one and you'll see what I mean. This would have been better suited for a 32-bit console like the Sega Saturn or the PlayStation.
Yeah, the originally intended boss for the snow level was going to be Admiral Oink, who is actually showed dressed as Santa Claus in the hall of pictures in the fifth level (where the boss is Big Blag). This was pretty much confirmed by Gregg Mayles. And I wasn't implying that someone could do a port now for those systems, but back in the day when it still wasn't an old game.
+Rosalina ロゼッタ Not only that, but back in the day, this arcade game did quite poorly, which meant doing a port for the SNES / Megadrive could've been a waste of money and time for Rare.
I used to love how Rare would put things like Christmas trees in their winter stages. They did it in this game but also in Banjo Kazooie and Diddy Kong Racing.
I remember playing this game and getting to the second boss, that's how far I got EVER...
I was little and was scared of the snake boss, it didn't help that the fact that I was playing alone and every time I seen
My character cry in pain as he was being eaten, soon I got to the part where the snake does rapid attacks, never have I ever felt so helpless...
As the snake ripped my health to nothing with every time I put in a coin. it was a terrible experience.
But I remember my brother who was the best player I knew not only kill they boss by himself, but with no damage at all.
I played a rash and he was zit. I remember him playing it a little more, then I fell asleep. That's all I remember.

I find this game literally delightful. I never felt such pleasure with any other game. I can almost feel the hitting, throwing and slaughter sensation. Love it

I will never understand why people speak ill of this before Rare Replay came into existence. I remember playing this on MAME in my youngin days and still love this to this day.
I was born long after the days of arcade gaming, but this game is kickass.
They need to remake this for ps 3 and xbox 360!

it could be another legend like donkey kong country returns. imagine a battletoad games with actual button combos, hundreds of smash hits, hundreds of objects and weapons, hundreds of death animations, 100 diverse levels with 100 bosses who destroy you, and like 20 difficulty levels with a world rank list where the hardest difficulties have like 5 people on the planet who can beat them.

I had watched the cartoon pilot and kind of am glad that the creator hadn't created it. I could write a better story on a napkin :P These guys are way too epic. If anyone ever decides to reboot the series I could pitch in my ideas :P

Stukała mi z tyłu głowy ta gra, przez lata, tak sie kuźwa zastanawiałem, jaki to był tytuł. Dzisiaj, odwiedzający mnie brat, kazał mi to wpisać. Popłakałem sie, ze śmiechu, ilości wspomnień. Dostałem taką emocjonalną Bombę :) kiedy jako dzieciaki jeżdżąc do rodziny na wsi i spędzaliśmy godziny na tym automacie :) KUŻWA, COŚ PIĘKNEGO :)

I just realized that the Toads are named after some skin issues. Whether you have zits, rashed skin, or pimples, you can't afford to miss this game out. I did because I did not know it existed.

The music plays about 5-10% slower in this version/video than other videos. Perhaps because 3 players?
I hadn't known there was anything wrong with the music. Whatever it is, I doubt it would be related to being 3 player.

I tried playing this on Mame arcade and I can't get 3 players to work. Am I doing something wrong? I press coins in for player 3, press start, exactly how I do for players one and two, and nothing happens. Any ideas?
+Matt Dawson While the game is running, you need to hit the TAB key to open the in game menu. Then you go to dipswitches and change "three players" from off to on and hit reset (F3).

How do you do the dash attack in midair
Do you know a specific time in the video where it shows this? There is a jump attack which works differently on certain bad guys, or it shows up if one of the common bad guys is almost dead. I don't know of a way to do the running dash attack in the air.
Oh I know how you could do a dash attack in midair you have to press the following -> jump -> under 1.20 seconds

You can create save states as you play, and if you desynch, you can load the state to continue from where you were.
I can't savestate while in netplay :(
Matias Rodriguez You press left shift+f7 to save during netplay. If that isn't working for you, it would mean you're using the wrong version of MAME.

You can download kayaks emulator or m.a.m.e. emulator google..emuparadise is one site.romnation..you can get roms.kawaks..Google download first link you see..once you get game downloaded create a folder put kawaks on folder.create folder for roms same procedure.M.A.M.E same procedure..

That just happened to be the setting I used, although it makes little difference to me if it's on or not. If I do record the game again, I will turn on blood for variety.

+mateks1k There actually are SNES games that allow more than 2 player using the SNES multitap, however, this isn't one of them. This game was originally in arcades and was later rereleased on Xbox One in Rare Replay.
