Well don't forget gator roll is found in freestyle wrestling. And freestyle wrestling is just catch wrestling without submission. So gator roll , of course, would be found in catch wrestling. Heck many of the PAINFUL moves in freestyle wrestling like the crossface, banana split, wrestling guillotine/grapevine abdominal stretch are used as submissions in catch wrestling. And this was BEFORE Eddie Bravo decided to use the banana split and wrestling guillotine(soon to be called the twister) as submissions in his 10th planet jujutsu system.

These tutorial have honestly made me want to do some MMA training. I did Taekwondo for years but stopped and I've regretted that for a while now so I'm very keen to get back into some Martial art form 😁
These are essential for self defence. Except the way they're explained and showcased with the whys to the hows with every movement, simplifies what is certainly more complex than it looks.

I love the behind the scenes technical aspects of this move, but I'm more curious about what that submission could build towards. By that, I mean that every submission hold in pro wrestling has a counter that could allow for the big comeback or a roll up, even if it's a fake out (which the queen of spades is very familiar with). But with Roman's hold, it looks very authentic in its tightness and doesnt leave someone with much room to deliver something like a spine buster, power bomb or a flip to put Roman into a pin. I love seeing MMA moves find a second life in pro wrestling, but I love seeing the creative exits to these moves even more.

Everyone watching popped when Jessamyn chopped back lol When you're applying a hold how long does it typically take before your opponent loses consciousness? Would you say in your experience most fighters tap before that or are too stubborn to submit? I always love that your videos are the right mix of instruction and humor.
You either get caught to quickly and go to sleep or your an idiot. It's a pride thing to go to sleep instead of submitting, but it's a fairly dumb idea. You're caught and not getting out, sometimes it's better to walk away than be woken up and then walk away..
Not always. I have been put to sleep in competition, and it wasn't me being stubborn or anything like that. I was legit, "Ok, I'm fine, I'm just going to grab here..I know exactly what to do....." next thing I know, I'm being woken up.

@QoSBaszler Yeah the arm out guillotine is more effective than the arm in guillotine. Because it is often easier to set up and apply pressure quickly while the arm in version can be more difficult to control and may require a more specific position to finish effectively. Yeah I got that from the AI Overview from Google and they're right about that. 👍

Not everybody does jujitsu. Because I do Muay Thai and Kickboxing then I do ground and pound just to beat up on anyone.

"Creative" escapes are usually just the actual escapes.
You can't escape if you're just stuck in that position the way Roman does it or from any guy in MMA does it too.

It depends on the hold. Most fighters with any training will tap, but sometimes you think you have time to fight and pass out on accident.

@@QoSBaszler Attack. On this choke you bring your off hand to your elbow or higher. Any one armed? Maybe a heel hook?
