A beautiful piece that will hold a lifetime of memories. Please tell your friend it never gets any easier but they are so worth it even if they are only here for a short time.
I thought about that but I didn’t had one that was similar to the brass screw size annnnd I was lazy to make a trip to the store 😂 I just made a wider pilot hole. I’ll use that technique on the next time I have to screw brass screw in!
This is one very beautiful peace of artistic craftsmanship! Very beautiful result. I find it funny how you compare your SawStop table saw with your Festool one. Both have the same parent company TTS Tooltechnic and oh, Shaper is also a part of the company.
Hahaha! Yes! They all are part of the same family but I get the impression the companies are all still very individual and different. That being said, I still see why it is funny that I compared Festool to SawStop 😂😂 Most of all, thank you so much for appreciating the work that went into this! I am grateful for that! 🙏
I wonder if it would be easier to cut (or plane) the angles on the sides of a long strip of wood and then cut of the strip the pieces the width of the kumiko on the table saw ... or would those angles not be precise enough? I'm in awe you were able to make such a niece piece to comfort your friend.
What a beautiful piece that your friend will treasure for the rest of her life. You're a wonderful friend to help her with the grieving process. I love the call-out for Steve Ramsey! I feel like he gets a lack of love because of the lack of high-end and complicated pieces he makes.
Hahaha, he’s so cool and I think he should get way more call-outs! And thank you so much! 🙏 This was a very important project for me to do and I’m honored to have been asked to make it :-)
Another great build & video! Projects that have these almost meditative processes as you mentioned are some of my favourite to both do & watch. Losing a loved pet can be very hard and such a beautiful piece to honour their memory can really help. You've built something which I'm sure will be treasured for many years and has meaning far beyond an appreciation of its excellent aesthetics & the craftsmanship that went into its creation.
Thank you so much for your kind words, that means a lot! 🙏🙏🙏. It’s my hope that it will be treasured as you said - both by my friend and her family, as well as by Cheetah 🥹
Top Marks..! Phenomenal..! Your OCD at the fuel pump..? Well, it's characteristic of all craftsmen 😅 I know you had time constraints, but "fuming" really brings out the grain in white oak; maybe next time; I use it for personal projects, but it can add several days, so most clients don't have the patience for it. Thank you ever so much for your hard work, caring and patience, not just for your friend, but also for putting these vids up and allowing us to see your handiwork...it's inspiring.
Beautiful project. This was a really enjoyable video to watch. The intricate patters of the Kumiko and joints were tight and right! Your headlight was really cool too. That really puts out the lumens!
Yes, there’s actually a lot of thought behind the design but I think it might be a little “too much detail” or too personal to share. I’m glad that you were able to feel the passion and effort put into the piece 😌
This is absolutely amazing Clara . You did such a beautiful job and are a great friend and true artist and craftsmen. Such a beautiful way to honor your friends fur baby 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️
wow the piece is amazing as you are so much small little cuts to made you must have patience of a mountain. beautiful end result anda true honor for the receiver.
I lost my little one after 18 yrs when at the beginning I wasn’t on board with even having her. She became such a huge part of my heart. I miss her terribly and give her box of ashes a kiss almost every day.
The Dinnie stones (the genuine ones) are awkward and painful to lift. The handle on the lightest stone is small and thin. It bites into your hand. It comes off the ground first. The large stone is a bulky beast that can throw off your balance when it comes off the ground. The real challenge is lifting these outside, with no warm-up in whatever the Scottish weather decides to throw at you that day. I'd send you some real haggis from our local butcher but customs would have a fit.
Hemp is a really useful material with many applications, and the reason it (and marijuana) have had a stigma in the United states was because of a smear campaign against it in the 1930's by companies producing other building materials who thought hemp would infringe on their market Also, in my shop I call pencils "disposable fingers" lol
A beautiful piece that will hold a lifetime of memories. Please tell your friend it never gets any easier but they are so worth it even if they are only here for a short time.
Thank you for the kind words! I'll definitely let her know 🙏
Excellent work, Clara! It turned out beautifully. It is great to see a new video from you. Please take care and have an amazing week!
I appreciate you watching! And you too, have a fantastic week! 🙏
For the brass screw issue, use a regular one (same pitch and profile) first as a "tap" to cut/form the thread.

Thank you so much! I really put in a lot of work for this piece so I’m happy you appreciated the intricacy! The headlamp was for sure fun 😆😆

Next time I’m gonna grab a brass and steel screw from the store. I’m ready to break the brass screw curse 😂
Finally, video again. Yes❤
They’re coming :-) Just lots of life changes recently!
@@ClarasWoodshopI hope changing to more positive things Clara. ❤👍🏻
Geesh that came out really beautiful! It's so delicate and precise. I really like it.
Thank you, the details were a labor of love! 🙏🙏🙏
If I tried a project like this, I would have a permanent headache. You do beautiful work.
It can be stressful at times, but definitely worth it in the end! 🙏🙏🙏

Great piece! Def sound different for whatever reason haha
Oh! Very interesting! What do you mean by sounding different? Is it good?
RIP your friend's cat 🙏
🙏🙏🙏 We both appreciate it 🥹

I find plexiglass is easier to cut like you do tile or glass, by socring it and breaking it on the score line.
Really? I’ll give that a try next time I need to cut plexiglass!!
