Scott's performance in this song is the pinnacle of what his work does for these arrangements that Alter Bridge work so hard on: it's almost like the drums are another melodic instrument, notably in the link part between the main verse and chorus - those runs are almost a melodic counterpoint to Myles' melody. I'm almost certain he's tuned his toms to make that work just so perfectly, but the arrangement and precision......damn.

I love it. Creed 2021, 2022 the world we live in now. This Album came out in 2013. And all we needed was a little love!!! Myles saw a racist article in a newspaper or magazine and wrote this song. Couldn't believe the HATE in this world. Inspiring man!!

This song is about racism and it's from the album Fortress that came out in 2013. This album is considered by many as the best AB album to date. If you listen to the whole record, you'll understand why.
Btw, the lyrics are "lost between the cracks, something wicked waits below", "if fire burns forevermore, is there nothing left to save?", "now you know you can't deny, only ignorance to blame".

You need to listen to Alterbridge "Rise Today" Live from Amsterdam.
Seen these guys four times in concert- never gets old. Can't go wrong with any of their songs.

Now him and Myles collaborate on alot of the songs, but even when they were Creed....Mark is the ones coming up with the POWERFUL, MEANING FUL WORDS...HIS A DAMN POET, I SWEAR.....MYLES IS DAMN GOOD TOO, AND THAT'S WHY.....THEY HAVE BEEN MY BAND....M.Y. Yesssss! My fave song off this album and one of my top 5 AB songs in general. So sad that it continues to be so relevant, but it's a jam regardless.
I love your reactions especially to Alter Bridge... being in my ‘late’ sixties, I’m probably one of their oldest followers (seen them twice now), I hate the word fan... one of the best Rock Bands at the moment. My recommendation is to listen to Tear Us Apart off the Walk The Sky Album... Absolutely brilliant..

Agreed! This song should have been written just to sum up hell, the last 3 or 4 years. It's disgusting where we have come as a society. We hate each other. Why? Our beliefs, our politics. It drives us to dark places. Hell you can't have conversations with family members without food being tossed at each other. It's a terrible thing and I hope we notice things need to change or we will all die as individuals not as brother and sister.
I recommend you check out a Sully Erna track called 7 Years from his first solo album Avalon, great song.
If you want to see the best thing this man has even done, look up the song Wonderful Life. Myles has said that was the most difficult recording he ever did because of the lyrical message, and sonically it is otherworldly
