Hi Mustie, The thing that the blue VW microbus need... There is the whole floor chassis that VW can sell it. That the top body and sides of Microbus can come off and mount the roof and 4 sides body to the brand new floor (unibody). Save a lot of trouble. In outside where there is room to raise up the Microbus. Please, look in video by Fixin Bugs -N- Stuff and title is VW Bug Pan removal and adding new pan. It is very reasonable and low cost.
‘A much better mood”. I was having a really lousy day until I started binge-watching your videos. This one, in particular, did definitely put me in a much better mood. Your videos always do. They remind me of my younger years hanging out with my best buddy wrenching and fixing stuff for the fun of it, before things became complicated working 7/365 the last 17 years. You inspire me to take some time for myself and get back to the thing I love to do most: fixing and restoring and breathing new life into old cars, trucks, or anything with an engine. Thank you so much for sharing your love for mechanics, and your beautiful State.
Boy oh boy.... you have your hands full with this one, but, I hope I speak for everyone that follows your channel that, we are definitely looking forward to watching this bus become road worthy again! Keep the videos coming! Have a nice day!
It's like camping in the woods in the cold rain with a leaky tent and oh yeah, you're on a sleeping bag is in a rock! What great memories! These vans are awesome! I love that you're not making them squeaky clean show new room, but putting them back into service do they can keep on keeping on.
I Always feel better after hanging out with you Mustie, even when it`s not about VWs. I`ve had 3 bugs, and a rail, it`s in my blood. I wish I had the money for the 68, I`d love to have another vee dub before time runs out. Thank you for sharing your video, and letting us hang with you again. ATB
Even with the floor problems that looks like a very good project since it's a good runner and the body is in fairly good shape and most of the parts are there. With the price of split window busses being up there its a good investment opportunity for someone with restoration skills like you.
I’ve been learning a lot about VW’s watching your videos. And someday I’m going to find me a VW bus and restore it. You’re a great teacher Mustie 1! Glad to see Lucy, the trike and Crusty. Thanks for the cruise!
Like to see all of your projects that have been worked on over the years. Spring time up here in Alaska not as warm as you, up to 50 so far. Love the shots of the country over there and the sea side. Have a great summer Mustie 1
Sunny day, really nice future project, good neighbour Brian around, touring a very nice VW bus, chatting with a pet animal, having an ice cream ... life is beautiful !
Lucy's a good looking bus! I like that color. Can't wait to see what you do with the new one. Good to see our old friend Crusty too! And any video with Lilly in it is good! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks very enjoyable to see an watch your projects makes my project doable which gives me hope thanks Mustie yes I was hanging my head out the passenger window pantting makes me thirsty!! Cool waters!!!
That was a nice, scenic drive; I felt as if I was riding along with you. I was reminiscing of days back in the 1970s when my grandpa used to take me to our favorite fishing- hole in his '68 Beetle. :)
hey Mustie, thank you for being so considerate and thinking of how others are feeling. Your vids always put me in a good (and creative) mood. It's like i'm hanging out with a friend in his man cave...love what you do. Best wishes, Mark in Australia
She's a keeper, after what you went through with crusty this bus will be much easier to put back together. Great score finding that bus looking forward to seeing her fixed up :)
Trippin down memory lane! Wow. My cousin won one of these 1966 Bus, Sea Blue and Ivory in a card game. He sold it to me for $250.00 in 1973. I removed the governor and installed a Holley Bug Spray and extractor exhaust, adjusted valves and drove from Fond du Lac Wisconsin to Fort Lewis Washington. Also installed 6Volt driving lights cleaned up all grounds . It had a coffee can full of new points and condensers + two gas heaters! One was already installed. Slowest trip I ever made, but maybe the coolest. I used 20W50 Racing oil.
The new bus , yes id give it a chance, its worth it for sure .... Lucy is looking fabulous as always. cant wait to see your progress on the new bus. Peace and Love !
Great video. Very informative for me. Getting a VW Bus was always been a dream of mine, and on my bucket list. Unfortunately I had an accident which put me in a wheelchair. I pretty much gave up on that idea. But, seeing this bus with the front seat pass-through, and the middle seat removal, has renewed my dream quest. Now all I need is to find one laid out like yours. Thanks and good luck. I look forward to future videos on this vehicle.
Good vehicles. Had a older van version, 1100cc transition engine. Rebuilt it and mechanic wanted it when I finished with it. Many good memories, with doors both sides, could get lots in.👍
I applaud you for putting forth the time and effort to restore such awesome finds. I've never been a big fan of rustoration but this ol van would be worth it in the end. If not for the gratification , simply for the respect as these are becoming rare to see. Kudos man!
Thanks for the babbling brook thing at the end; now I'm off to the john...again! Really enjoy your videos so lets see the Safari windows installed, please. Thanks again, Greg.
Seeing this and the other bus vids brought back memories of...my families' car which was a blue & white '66 deluxe suburban with sun windows and sunroof. We drove across country in it (from NY to CA and back) in 69. I have a lot of very clear memories of that trip even though I was around 5 yo at the time. We kept the bus up until around '79. Enjoying the channel greatly as I grew up with VW's and am a wrencher at heart. Subscribed.
Man,Mustie reversed that trike into the shipping container like a boss. Awesome job and great vid as always. Can't wait to see the job he does on that blue VW bus.
WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!! It's crusty season. Crusty is probably my favorite of your vws. Just such a cool way to put an old vw back on the road. There is some weary stuff that is love to get from you, but we can talk about that later
If the running gear is good then t would restore. With all the extra metal for the bod the pan would be a simple replace. After seeing what you did with pan rails on the bug the fact the floor is toast will make it easier to get to other places. I know you can do it, you've proven you have the will power and technology to overcome most any situation. Love your posts.
I DO like the original blue color on this new bus - nice! Also, glad to see that you put your New Blue (full of parts) in the shipping container. There's always scumbags around that would be delighted to run off with a load of hard to find VW parts. I know of a few world class ripoff scenarios where the owners didn't think anyone would steal their stuff, and didn't secure their parts and vehicles. Sadly, they were wrong.
I think “Betsy Blue” is a great acquisition for you and your talent! You need to start looking for another shipping container which will also give you a cover between them. Lucy is such a beautiful bus and you should be proud of the excellent work you did on her! Those bikes are awesome! Have fun at the lake! (I know you’re itching to go).
Cool. Them Safari Windows are gonna make ya smile so much you'll have to pull over to pick the bugs out of your teeth. As always, Thanks fer takin' us along...
Happy Spring Mustie, good to go for a ride, I had my Grand Prix out this past Sunday in New York, felt good, it's a sunroof car so I really don't enjoy it unless it's warm, that bus needs a lot of work, but you're gonna get it done, Lucy is totally cool, she's a keeper, gotta play that song Ariel in it from 1977, they had a VW van, we'll enjoy
Sweet bus, shame rust never sleeps! Still I'm sure it'll be a minter by the time you've done! Vintage VWs, spring sunshine, ice cream and goats - all good!
Thanks for the video, made my day.. maybe that 68 needs a home down here in ctrl Florida. Not far from your mom and dad...!😎 my parents had 3 of them when I was growing up in R.I. take care.
When I was a kid some friends of ours had a Volkswagen bus identical dark blue and white had all the trim down the side I remember the way the front looked with the big VW the way that it was split two toned that dark blue is really pretty against that white looking forward to seeing you put this one back together
Its a classic..all it needs is you and a welder and unlimited supply of metal.and a plasma cutter..seems to be in good mechanical shape. Can't wait to see it finished its worth it...CHEERS 🍺🍺🍺🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
When I first saw this one I thought, "there's no way this one is worth saving." I didn't know Lucy was originally in the same shape, though. This will be another fun one to watch when you get started on it. Thanks, Mustie!!
Enjoy all of your videos. First car I drove was a 1966 1500cc beetle back here in the UK - that was many years ago. Would love to get an old bus, but as another person from the UK said, they are very expensive over here😩
It looks like it is worth restoration to me...but then I am a sucker for the VW bus and I am not the one doing the work. But to save a classic like Mr. Blue is priceless.
You have everything a man could ever want. A garage, cars and bikes, and sunshine. I'm so envious.

good to see Crusty again; and thanks for taking us along for the ride on the way home

VWs are the best. Nothing makes a person smile more than driving around in a Air cooled VW.
Boy oh boy.... you have your hands full with this one, but, I hope I speak for everyone that follows your channel that, we are definitely looking forward to watching this bus become road worthy again! Keep the videos coming! Have a nice day!

So cool to see the NH seacoast too! That's a drive I should do everyday, but never think to...
Running over your little squirt bottle was a nice touch!
The way you explain the mechanics is very thought out and informative . Thank You .

This is a great video! Thank you, Darren, for taking us along! It was a nice cruise down along the seacoast! Always nice to see Lily, also!
All your videos are magic. My car would not be as good without your example. Richard Allen England Land!!
Thanks Mustie, enjoyed the ride out and it has lifted my mood.
Like to see all of your projects that have been worked on over the years.
Spring time up here in Alaska not as warm as you, up to 50 so far.

another happy viewer......kept me up beyond my bed time in France.
Up too late in London, UK as well.
..and in Hong Kong!
Thanks so much for the ride along. Beautiful scenery was very relaxing.
Every aspect of what you do makes me smile - even the rust makes me laugh. Your a special Human Being Keep Being you.
She's a keeper, after what you went through with crusty this bus will be much easier to put back together. Great score finding that bus looking forward to seeing her fixed up :)
that panel looks like its for a bay window lower rear panel behind the back wheel... great project thanks for letting us in the garage
Thanks for the cruise down the coast. Nice camera work and great route selection!
Another awesome video.. love the bus and you may just luck out and not have to do too much to the motor .. looking forward to future updates ....☮️

Just finishing up mine for the summer. Best feeling in the world, cruising on a sunny day in a classic VW, heaven.

It's for sure a keeper. Great body style. Way too nice to waste. Have fun Mustie ,Thank You for the video .
Loved seeing all the old VW iron and the coastline.
Wow all those buses are so cool!
Every time I watch this I'm amazed on how complete and clean the interior is. I have the same sea blue 66 deluxe and I wish mine looked that good
I like your stash of man toys. I like the vw vans. A historical marker.
Thanks for the babbling brook thing at the end; now I'm off to the john...again! Really enjoy your videos so lets see the Safari windows installed, please. Thanks again, Greg.
Many beautiful VW noises in this one. Very nice, sir! ✌
Loved hanging out with you for the day.
Don't leave the restoration too long, I'm sure we're all desperate to get started.

Love your videos & fleet Mustie1. Best on You Tube! Great to see Spring has Sprung. Long live your buses. From Mac, Cortina Driver in UK England.
That white/burgundy vw looks amazing, so fresh and new looking.
You did a loverly job there :-D.
Lucy is gorgeous! The safari windows will look and keep you cool!
Nice drive down 1A. My summertime job was to cruise the WERZ van through the beaches so that the summer folks would see it and tune in.
Love the old split window buses. I think that two tone red and white ones were the nicest.
Thanks for another great ride!
Ah, the first drive of spring ! BTW, Lucy is a gem, so beautiful ! Congrats, Darren !
Sending a shoutout from Nebraska. been watching your videos for years!
Happy to see the toys out just got 20 degrees warmer thanks

I think “Betsy Blue” is a great acquisition for you and your talent!
