I was so struck by Alicia’s grace and humility. It feels like her work is grounded in hope and faith in human beings to grow and change for the better. Activism can sometimes feel so exclusive, but how she is leading and living is so grounded and loving. ❤️

This podcast is in a league of its own. If I hadn't been so deeply impacted by this show - the brand, as a whole really - I wouldn't have been as prepared or present for this conversation as I was while listening today. Internal alarms would've been activated just a few years ago at certain points, but, today, light bulbs switched on instead. And that's because of the way this show educates and uplifts, taking the venom out of terms like "white supremacy" and "privilege" so those of us at that intersectionality of privilege can have those "a ha!" moments. Even as someone who has tried to understand, there was still defensiveness and fragility in the moments when I heard certain topics brought up. But this show -- its conversations, its guests, its radical compassion -- are just what I needed. ME is consistently a show that requires at least 2 listen-throughs: 1 to be present and listen fully to, the other to be able to sit and take notes!

31:30 This is such an excellent point.
It reminds me of a story my father told me about how my great grandfather was a volunteer fireman. My mind was blown, a man who was a business founder & active owner, scout leader, father and husband. I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that this hard working man had the energy to even do this. My father explained that when he asked his grandfather, Louise how he did it, Louise responded with the understanding of knowing he had no other choice because his community needed him, he refused to stand on the sideline and watch things burn.
So grateful that you guys are creating a platform to discuss community and togetherness, it’s something that this world is in need of❤.

I feel supported by the conversations in this video. I understand what it takes to fulfil a purpose and the courage needed and self-belief needed. Thank you to all involved. 😃 I have every faith that my my journey is purposeful, even though it sometimes feels it's not or I don't know what I am doing. I now know that this is part of the process and can factor this in. 👍

The world of humanity is like unto a rose garden and the various races, tongues and people are like unto contrasting flowers. The diversity of colors in a rose-garden adds to the charm and beauty of the scene as variety enhances unity.[6]-Baha'i Faith

I don’t believe one question, she accurately answered his question in terms of black boys, disappearing in this movement. I also failed to see, what the benefits are that black men received during this whole entire Black Lives Matter movement.
