  • Welcome to Camping with Kim - my new camping channel and my eight adventure!
I’ve actually been having too much fun and now I have to catch up on my videos!
Join me on my summer camping adventure to Parc Omega in Quebec Canada with my new 2023 Honda CRV. I had special cargo with me this time - 100 LBS (45 KG) of carrots! I made it my job to feed them all!
It’s a good 6-hour drive from Toronto with scenic back roads and I passed through Ottawa before arriving in Montebello, Quebec which is where the park is. I didn’t get to visit the largest log cabin in the world (the Fairmont le Chateau Montebello) this time, but maybe some day…
I made a lot of rest stops along the way and visited all the waterfalls that I could find. It has become one of my hobbies to find waterfalls whenever I need to stretch my legs. Luckily Ontario has no shortage of waterfalls!
As I passed through Ottawa, I visited Parliament Hill and went on a quick tour. I haven’t revisited since I was small and the new free immersive experience was very modern and cool. Luckily it wasn’t too busy.
After I arrived at the park, I went directly to the area where visitors get to walk amongst the deer and feed them. I get to work right away and start my all you can eat carrot service. After a satisfying time, I hop back in the car and drive around the park to explore the other animals but soon dark clouds roll in and I decide it’s time to check-in to the campgrounds.
I’m provided with a nice quiet tipi up on a hill side and soon it starts to rain hard. Luckily, I had a tarp and poles ready to go, so I setup a quick shelter over the fire pit so I can start enjoying dinner.
The next morning, I woke up to wolves howling and the sound of rain drops - It was nice, although a bit early for me!
I head over to the park restaurant and have a lazy breakfast. Isn’t that normal in camping, to order your food and have it cooked for you? I guess not.
I quickly pack up my gear and explore the lodging area in daylight. I come across the pack of wolves that woke me up and a baby bear climbing for its dear life. Cute!
By now, I burned enough day light and had to get back to my job!! I hit the road, weave through morning traffic and pay lots of road tolls in carrots. Eventually I arrived at another feeding area and some hungry baby deer gobbled up a nice carrot brunch.
Then it was time for MY lunch, where I enjoyed a nice poutine that had some nice squeaky cheese. I then hop onto a tractor ride to visit the farm and more animals. I don’t spend too much time there as I need to get back to work again soon. I find my back to a quiet lake and start handing out the rest of the carrots.
I finish my trip successfully and evenly distributed my cargo of carrots to all willing deer! It was lots of fun and I’d certainly do it again. To be honest, actually 100 lbs of carrots isn’t even that much when spread out over two days of hungry animals. I can’t imagine how much food the park has to feed them on a daily basis!
Thanks again for watching and see you at my next camping adventure!

@@campingwithkim I have been watching the videos of that park in FB recently and wanted to visit. That's when accidentally this video came up in my YT.
I have a question. Those wolves, are they fenced from the visitors?? I saw another video iin FB where they play with some kids...I couldn't believe it 😄😄

The wolves are only in fenced in areas. I've watched them do a feeding and they got pretty aggressive even to each other (as a show of strength/dominance), so I can't imagine what they would do to some kids! I think the closest you can get to the wolves is behind floor to ceiling glass walls here and the wolves will walk right up to the glass.

Oh also, if you subscribe to Parc Omega's newsletter, they often run promos for cheaper tickets and lodging promos. I've seen them do this on Black Fridays, Boxing Days and on the shoulder seasons

@@campingwithkim Thanks for your reply. Yes, I love deers and the other animals.
Other than the Tipi tents, can't we stay in wooden cabins? I saw a video.
