  • Welcome to Camping with Kim - my new camping channel and my ninth adventure! If you are here for the first time, I don’t talk in my videos and try to use as little music as possible. Please enjoy my laid-back camping!
Join me on my fall camping adventure to Arrowhead Provincial Park in Ontario Canada with my 2023 Honda CRV. I got a new bell tent and budget minded wood stove to try me some hot tenting!
I make quick work of a 3 hour drive north from Toronto by making a few very beautiful scenic spots. With the full swing of fall leaves changing color, time passes quickly with so much to see.
Upon arriving at Arrowhead, I immediately check out the Big Bend Lookout which is on every poster and website about this park. If the water levels were higher, I think it’ll be fun to float around the bend in a kayak like a lazy river.
Next on my list is to visit Stubb’s Falls - a must see for me since it’s a waterfall. I get to see it up close and personal. Don’t step on the dark wet rocks!
Just as I finish and head to my camp site, it starts to rain. No biggie - I packed a lunch and eat it in the car while waiting for the rain to die down. When it finally does, I setup my big new tent (only for the second time ever) and install my new wood stove. I forgot to burn the stove outside first, so there was some smell that was given off. Luckily after airing it out over dinner, things smelled normal again.
I make scallops, steak, potatoes and lobster for dinner. I retire inside the tent and setup a little projection screen and enjoy dessert. I demolished parfait cake in a can and chocolate mousse in a cup.
The next morning, I wake up to the pattering of rain on the tent. I slowly make breakfast of Ramyun noodles, a pork sausage patty and an egg.
I would say it was a very relaxing little trip again, just the way I like it. Not much to do but setup camp, enjoy some food and sleep.
Thanks again for watching and see you at my next camping adventure!

Greetings from Orillia! Just discovered your great channel and have subscribed. Your videos are well done and I have been camping at most of the places you feature. It's nice to see a spot in your video where I fondly remember being! I plan on winter camping (in a trailer) at Arrowhead in Winter 2024. I send best wishes and look forward to the growth of your channel.....

Welcome fellow Ontarian! Thanks so much for your nice comments. It’s too bad we’ve had such a dismal winter so far to support some good ol’ snow camping. Nonetheless, I hope you have a great time at Arrowhead this Winter. One day I may have to rent a tiny trailer to enjoy the conveniences of a towed base camp too! Enjoy!!

Terrific video! I'm near London and very impressed by your camping trip videos. My wife asked me about your cooking utensils in the roll-up pouch. Is it something that can be purchased? As a fellow CRVer, keep the adventures coming!

Hi Peter! Thank you and nice to hear from a fellow CRVer :) I actually pieced together my utensil set over time as I encountered 'I-wish-I-had' moments at camp so I didn't buy it as a packaged set. I did see some impressive looking sets online but you and your wife may still wish to customize them further with things you prefer.

Hello fellow Ontarian! :) In this video, I'm using a Danchel B2 Yurt/Bell tent. I cut my own ground tarp to protect the floor and the awning is just a random tarp with a pole which also doesn't come with the tent. Thanks for watching! :)

@@campingwithkim Thank you thank you!! I noticed I have the same wood stove that you use in this particular video (it was on sale at Princess Auto so I had to try it), thouht I would try out the tent because I love how roomie it looks!

No problem! Our Princess Auto stove sure was a very good buy! One more tip though, when pairing it with this tent in the future, I am thinking of getting some extra car exhaust pipe or changing to a roll-up chimney to extend the chimney height because this tent is 2.5 meters tall. When I set it up I didn't feel the Princess Auto stove chimney was quite tall enough yet - could use another 0.5 to 1 meter to make me feel better at night

@campingwithkim so I guess you're either korean or Chinese. I'm an Asian as well, so I am very interested you're capable to be out the wilderness.

Yes good guesses! And, I actually only recently took up camping when we couldn't travel due to the pandemic lock downs. Ever since then, I've been very motivated to learn and gain more experience with living outdoors (and shop for camping gear! ❤️). I'm still expanding my comfort levels but I'm growing at my own pace - slowly pushing my boundaries so that I can experience the most out of being outside. I'm also still trying different types of camping to see what I like the most! For me it's all just for fun but the skills are definitely nice to have.
