    Nice review, I think people can relate that finding a good jacket is actually quite difficult even if they look extremely basic lol

      Thanks for the kind words!! Yes I agree. It's really hard to find that go-to, "one jacket" that checks all the boxes haha. Cheers!

    just saw your review, and I can confirm this after 4 years of wear, that this down jacket leaks feathers like no tomorrow. I always use a laundry net for most uniqlo products because, although they are higher quality for price, they are not as durable as Uniqlo claims. FYI for all future Uniqlo buyers. Your video was very helpful. I'm going to Taiwan for a month, and your review helped me to prepare for another emergency jacket: Uniqlo Pocketable Parka. LOL hope this one lasts too.

      Thanks for watching the vid, and for your kind words, bro! Good to know about your experience with this down jacket too. I haven't tried the Pocketable Parka yet - I hope it performs well in your trip to Taiwan, and beyond!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽

    I have the hooded one from 6-7 years ago and there’s been no issues. I have an even older 850 North Face that’s even better if someone wanted to upgrade.

    They actually do use a high quality zipper. If you look carefully, you can see that it's YKK brand. I think what you might not like is the tiny size of the zipper which makes it somewhat difficult to utilize? It does help keep the jacket as light as possible though.

    • @journeyanywear
      @journeyanywear  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't even realize the zipper was YKK! Yeah, not sure why it just wasn't working as smoothly for me. Could be the small size of the zipper indeed 🤷🏽‍♂️

    I have 2 ultra jackets and 1 vest from Uniqlo. Washed them so many times. Oldest of the three is over 10 years. None of them leak feathers that much, so I don't know what you're talking about.

    • @journeyanywear
      @journeyanywear  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wow, glad to hear that you have had great experiences with your Uniqlo ultra light jackets! All of my Uniqlo stuff is good also...except this particular jacket. So, I really think I got a faulty product for this one. I love all my Uniqlo clothes otherwise 👍🏽

  • @andrecheung8416
    @andrecheung8416 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    if you machine wash, you have to put it on delicates , normal wash would destroy the strength of the seams and cause feather leakage

    I had the same problem with feathers too. Got all over the cloth seats off my car that I kept a lint roller handy. I replaced mine with a north face nuptse

      Sorry to hear you had the same problem with the feathers too! That sucks. Must've been annoying to have that lint roller on deck all the time. I haven't heard of the North Face Nuptse - just looked it up and it sure looks puffy; it must really keep you warm!

    anything down (coat, jacket, sleeping bag, etc) should never leave it stored in a stuff sack. it’s meant to be used temporarily.

    Seems like you have a faulty one or they just don't make them like they used to. I bought mine back in 2015 (still looks good as new) and it doesn't leak even when I wash it. I was looking to replace it in a few years but now I might look for another brand if it has those problems. Thanks.

    I live in himalayan valley of Kashmir and temperatures here get down as low as 0 degree Celcius during the day and it snows heavy..do you think it will be a good use here?

    • @journeyanywear
      @journeyanywear  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! In 0 degrees Celsius, I would have to wear at least two very thick layers underneath this Uniqlo jacket to stay warm. Since this is an entry level down jacket, I wouldn't recommend this for you in that weather, especially with heavy snow! You may need a tougher jacket. Cheers!

    I have this jacket in the same color but idk how to wash it...It says hand wash but I want to machine wash...what did you do?

    • @journeyanywear
      @journeyanywear  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I machine washed it in a top loading washing machine (with an agitator) with other clothes, on a regular setting. Apparently, this is not the ideal way 😅 A more ideal way is to wash the down jacket with a front loading washing machine (or gentle cycle on a top loading machine) and use down specific cleaner over normal detergent. To dry, keep it on low and put some tennis balls in there. Good luck man, and let me know how it goes!

    • @journeyanywear
      @journeyanywear  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's about the lowest temperature that I wore this in, and I needed a couple layers. For me, in 1C, I definitely need to have extra layers, even with this jacket. 🥶
