About that fuzzy yarn jacket, I got mine last year, and if you wash it, it gets really thin and you can easily see the netting the yarn is punched into. If you don't wash it, unless you brush it often it mats really badly at the elbow 😢 I want to get something like it in a half zip like you said. Cozy and not prickly.
It's interesting you don't like that short cream jacket with buttons, because it's my newest favorite. I think the acrylic helps with the pilling actually. This sweater softens more as I wash mine. It is bulky though and not as warm, but I wear mine with heattech long sleeve tee anyways 😊
I got the black one and liked it so much, I got the green one too. It is a bit bulky but not too much. I actually like that it feels a bit more substantial.

It costs £2.95 to return an item from an online order in the UK, puts me off ordering! I have no Uniqlo stores anywhere near me.

Actually, it is good to have a tie inside the waist of a coat. On a cold day, it can go a long way to keeping you warm.
