I'm a bit late to the party but thank you for this video - this ended up being the only way I could mount a quad lock to my R3. Not sure if there's minor differences in bar width tolerances (mine is a 2015 model), but similar to Dommelit below I had a much more difficult time getting the fitment correct. I had to completely undo the two bolts holding the brake lever/master cylinder assembly to get the o-ring and base of the quad lock mount in. Thankfully afterwards it all tightened up fine, the brake assembly aligned correctly with the bar notch as mentioned in your video and retained full function of electrics. I am now able to mount my iPhone XS Max successfully with no clearance problems at full lock. Hope that helps anyone else planning to do the same fitment. Thanks again!
Wait so you're using the thickest o-ring? I put mine on yesterday with the middle sized one because the thickest one had about a 1.5cm gap when putting it on the bar. It seems like its on fine but now im worried haha
Wait yep you were right (obviously) haha. Just needed some coaxing from a pair of needle nose pliers. You seems to have much more room on your bar compared to mine

Anyone know if this still works for 2021 r3? Am i just doing it wrong because when i loosen the tank near the kill switch it doesn’t move enough for me to put the quad lock band on. I’ve tried all 3 that it comes with and they are too fat. Any tips or advice
If it’s the headstem mount that inserts into the hole in the top of the headstem then no it wont work on this R3. Due to it being a bolt and not like the nut setup that my R1 has. I dont know if they changed the headstem setup on the newer R3’s but i know 2015-2018 it wont fit.
How big should the gap be? On the actual master brake cylinder section the ring doesn't go 100% flush on the bar, it's raised a tiny bit is that okay? And there's maybe a 1 cm gap or so. If I use the middle ring I can get no gap and almost possibly perfectly flush but would that work it since I can overlap it a small amount.
@@DaSpedzaMotoVlogs I literally haven't been able to get the thickest ring on at all but the medium thick one seems to fit pretty well, I haven't done the full installation but that's what I've noticed so far
It’s either something you’ve done by blowing a fuse or damaging wires etc. Or some other un related issue. Installing one of these should do nothing to your bikes electrics.
DaSpedza MotoVlogs thanks. When i tighten the bolts parking lights switch stopped working then i loose them and parking light start working again. Not sure if there is some sort of interference with the switch as happens as soon As i tight them up

It’s still going strong. Used it all the way up until i sold the R3.

i got a 2021 r3, the middle size one fit well. You just have to squeeze or fight a little bit. Hope this help.

You want to use the firmer ring a little bit of overlap is ok. What you dont want is it coming loose and moving around while riding.

When i installed this on my 2020 parking lights did not work. Any ideas of whats happenning?

@@blah2662 there’s a better method where you get a ram ball mount and quad lock phone mount and get a longer screw for the triple tree.
