Lisa Marie was sick when she filmed that live performance. She had a beautiful voice, and her daughter looks and sounds just like her also. Every time Lisa Marie did a "duet" with Elvis, it was either on his birthday or the anniversary of his passing, and it was always done for charity. This one hits as 2 generations, 1 that was born in poverty and 1 that was born into not exactly a stable home with 2 parents every night, definite privilege even though they tried to raise her as close to "normal" as possible.
This song meant so much to Elvis and no matter how many times I've heard it throughout the years, it still brings tears to my eyes. I'm loving this version with Lisa Marie adding her voice! Thank you for such a beautiful and heartfelt reaction.
Elvis and Lisa sound so beautiful together singing this epic song. Thank you so much for your reaction. He would have been so proud of her.Such a sad but true life situation for many people. Your reaction is always filled with truth and heart.
I read a post of Nancy Sinatra...(not exact wording). Elvis called her when his daughter was born. He told her life wasn't fair. His little girl would have every privilege but there were babies born that wouldn't have things they really need. It's who he was. He cared.
Love this song! Beautiful meaning to this song! Elvis grew up very poor in Tupelo, Mississippi. I always love listening ro your heartfelt reactions, you are precious!! ❤❤❤
Trying to type with tear filled eyes. One of Lisa Marie's favorite songs and she followed in her daddy's footsteps in giving back to others. My favorite duet. They compliment each other so beautifully. Such a powerful song and Elvis immortalized it! Great reaction ❤😢
Lisa Marie sings so beautiful with her beloved father. Elvis was always such a great storyteller. Thanks for putting this up, as I had not heard it before. Yes, something is definitely wrong. If we all had the depth of love that Elvis had for his fellow man, perhaps songs like this would not have to be sung. The cycle of poverty just goes on & on for some people, which is just so sad. Elvis was blessed with a voice that took him out of the poverty he had grown up in, & he took poverty-stricken family members with him, when he bought Graceland. But he definitely did not have it easy.
I APPRECIATE YOU PUTTING OUT ( WALK A MILE IN MY SHOES) MY MOMMA RAISED HER EIGHT CHILDREN ON THOSE LINES. NO JUDGEMENT... THATS THE BOTTOM LINE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR KINDNESS❤❤❤
I was lucky enough to be in a stable, loving marriage and to choose when to have our children. We weren't well off, but we had a roof over our heads and we knew we could provide for our family, even though we struggled at times. I can't begin to imagine how it must feel to have a child and not know whether you can feed and clothe it. It must be so frightening and you must feel so alone. Nothing has changed since Elvis first sang this song back in 1969 😢
I think you're a good person. There is, and always will be, evil in this world, and that is never going to be collectively "fixed". We each do only what we can do. Elvis was able to do, and he did, a lot to help people. But that was something he could (emphasis on could) do.
This whole thing is sad..thr Ghetto seems like it's never going to get better let alone fixed 😢 And now that Lisa Marie passed last year at 54 yrs old having her and her father that she adored sing together on this absolutely tear jerker was too much. .Thanks for this one...👍✌️
Thank you for your suitably somber reaction...the sad reality is that this song was released in 1969 and it remains relatable to many people in society today ...we've made so many advancements with technology and medicines but we not addressed the social side of life to lift those who are down and share these so called better time with everyone....hopefully one day this strong lyric will just relate to past experiences....Karl from eastern Canada🙏🙏🙏
At this time in history hate is spreading faster than love. Turning a blind eye is easier than stepping forward to help. Man's inhumanity to man saddens me.
🌿🌹🌿🌹🌿🌹🌿🌹🌿🌹🌿🌹🌿 Hi Kings There is a Beautiful Tribute song to Elvis written by his long time Girlfriend Linda Thompson who was with Elvis after he and Priscilla split up from late 1972 till 6 months before his death. It was sung by Josh Groban "TO WHERE YOU ARE" th-cam.com/video/D5j_5rEECAE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JSMKcwg4xgrbUB2V Linda also wrote the Beautiful Duet between Celine Dion and Barbara Streisand called "TELL HIM" You reacted to about 7mo ago. ❤
- - - - - - The solo / studio version of this song is SOOOO much better! It's on the 30#1Hits CD. Very brilliant!. However, I don't think much of these Lisa Duets that she kept creating.
You missed the entire point, even 60 years later, cycle after cycle after cyle, the lack of a two parent upbringing has and continues to devastate black families.
Stunning & such a Powerful Song too👌Have you listened to DONT CRY DADDY Elvis & Lisa sing it together & its a lovely song 👍🏻🥰

Very beautiful and sad - Thank you so much - your kind heartfelt reaction is so true. I believe Elvis would have been honored to hear this.

So well spoken my friend. Your words after the song made me tear up....too.
Daddy and his little baby girl...wow
I think the song has lost some of poignancy and despair in this version. Elvis’ solo version conveyed more fragility of life and desperation.
ELVIS
My cat just had a litter of 6 kittens. I named the smallest cutest one Lisa Marie.

Elvis was and will always be the best. Loved Lisa Marie also. Great voice like her Daddy

This song....ah, my boy. Pulls at my heartstrings and tears can't help but form and fall. Just beautifully soulful. Bless their beautiful souls 🕊️❤️⚡💯
Crying Beautiful ❤

I second your comment to this amazing song!
Why do we understand and politics seem to be blind!?
So sad!
Love your reactions! Thank you!
Just beautiful, I have no words seeing them sing together. She just stares at her father in the end.

What a great duet ❤ Thanks
Have you watched the movie Elvis 2022? That movie really changed my life..would be nice to make a reaction to that movie! TCB ⚡️💯
Great Reaction 👍🙏💯😎
Elvis sounds better singing alone. More & more are singing with him

Seriously: all original versions of Elvis alone, not with any added vocals by anybody, are always much better than the later versions.
Not this time, this was so beautiful

He did not miss the point at all.
Unfortunately, until Jesus comes back, there will always be sin in this world. Good reaction.
