How to block your neighbor's WiFi

- If you wanted to know how to block your neighbor's WiFi from appearing in your WiFi network list, then I am going to show you exactly how to do that.
Its simple and just takes a couple of commands!
Method 1 - Blacklisting WiFi Names:
Block WiIF name: netsh wlan add filter permission=block ssid="name" networktype=infrastructure
Unblock WiFi name: netsh wlan delete filter permission=block ssid="name" networktype=infrastructure
Show all the Filters: netsh wlan show filters
Method 2 - Whitlising WiFi Names:
Add your own WiFi: netsh wlan add filter permission=allow ssid="name" networktype=infrastructure
Block ALL the other WiFi: netsh wlan add filter permission=denyall networktype=infrastructure
Unblock all the other WiFi: netsh wlan delete filter permission=denyall networktype=infrastructure

What if we want to block our neighbors SIGNAL from coming into our homes? New neighbor doesnt have obnoxious SSID names but obnoxiously high-powered signal which is degrading our signal from our not that old (Nighthawk X6 R7900) router. Since they moved in, 300 Mbps is down to the low to mid 100s. Tried changing channels, tried moving my router (can only go so far from where it is without cable company charging for install in another room AND I dont really want it in another room anyway). Short of plastering my outside wall with tinfoil, what can I do? I just want to stop the interference they've created.

This doesn't stop their wifi interfering though. We have a neighbour who has one of those 'extender' things, and his wifi is so dam strong it crushes ours! We choose a channel that is clear, but then he seems to follow us. I don't think it's deliberate, he just has his on 'auto; and it just chooses a quiet channel.

But this only blocks it on the system you run the command on? So if your child has a cellphone or Playstation you will need to block there too, right?
Correct. I haven't found a reliable way or a secure enough app that does it on a phone.

Does this work to block neighbors' TV's and other devices with Miracast? It's an incredible pain if you have to go back to your main screen to select the correct display, and there's no autoconnect the correct display similar to what you have for wireless networks.
This does make the wifi deasepear from your "neighbour s " thingy as well. It s not only for my PC , no?

What if I do this and the names don't go away ? The netsh wlan show filters says they are blocked , but they still show up. What did I miss ?

How does that work for a Mac computer?
I have thin walls in my apartment. I left my TV and radio on on purpose. I believe he has a jammer. My neighbor turned off my TV and radio two days in a row when I was not hm. What device is he using and how can I block it. This person also runs his bathroom air vent on and off when I’m home all day and night. This is invasion of privacy.

Because I think I have the problem with my security system and tv trying to connect to a unlocked BT-WIFI network some reason. Which has no Internet access either
I haven't set it to connect to that network, but while attempting to reconnect the WiFi to the TV I had noticed it was connected to that other network and not mine.
Is there a way to block it so that my other devices won't try and connect to it pls??

Hi. I did the exact same thing on windows 10. It said, on the Command Prompt window: "The filter is added on the system successfully" But, they still show on my Android phone. Spelling correct, also. Does it not work for cell phones?

that only blocks it on that single computer, it doesn't do anything on the network, it also does not block their wifi signal from changing how strong your wifi is.

Remember that this only work for Windows 10, not Android or other operating systems.
Wired network on the stuff you can't do this to. Then just disable the wifi on that device.

Hello. I know vary little about computers and I've had all kinds of crazy things happen on my laptop and even my phone. So I went and got the most expensive Norton antivirus I could get, not that it changed anything or helped what so ever so I attempted to reset my router password and it wouldn't let me. I put my password in and I got the okay to enter a new one and I put a new one in and that's as far as it let me go. I was unable to confirm it like someone had the SAVE button deactivated or something. So I messed around for ever trying to fix this to no avail. However I came across some messages in my router I had never seen, saying 12 devices whitelisted ...ect... What could this mean or be from? Please any truth would be so nice!

No this only blocks the network from showing up, it doesn't actually 'block' the network.

Hello I would like to know how do I block neighbors from using my WiFi? I have Spectrum service
That's also a big problem for me. Not only am I getting bad WiFi signals every time I want to stream my Xbox One to my PC, other networks are interfering and want to connect to my PC and potentially cutting off the current connection I have from my router to my PC. I want to be able to block the signal of all these other WiFi networks appearing on my router and focus only on the ones I have.
