There is no such thing as having a budget in Venice. You'll need all the money you can get to visit there!!! And now on top of that, they will charge tourists a fee to enter the city!!!!!!!!!! Yes there are modern buildings but they are to a minimum. Campo Manin comes to mind. Piazzale Roma is another location where modern buildings are to be found.
