Great video and very sensible advice. I visit Venice often and fall in love every time! So important as tourists to be respectful of both Venice and the Venetians, I can only imagine the frustration they would have with over tourism. Thanks for the beautiful footage.

One tip I've never seen on a TH-cam trip (even as good as this one!) If you want a coffee or a drink, the cheapest way is to drink inside the cafe, standing up at the bar; if you sit down inside it will cost you a little more and to sit outside it will cost you even more!
Helen Keating yes! I mention that tip in my Paris Guide on the Vagabrothers channel. Thanks for watching Helen. Hope you’re subscribed and check out my new video :)
I loved this video. I was in Venice this morning and hoped I watched this before I went. Anyway, I’ll scroll your channel and see if you have travel videos about Milan, Rome, and Nice

Hehehe don't dream about it.. Hehehe jump on plane.. Hehehe just do it..let's life's waves carry u on.. Nothing can buy memories u have to live them true.. See u someday somewhere.. Hehehe
Mestre is the best place to stay . It is a very short train/bus journey away and the hotels are very reasonably priced. I stayed , at Christmas. in Mestre and it was the perfect location.
R.I.P corona fucked everything up 😢 I was meant to go to Milan in April as well but rebooked for September. I went to Venice in November, it's such a beautiful place and by far the best place I've been! I'd imagine some things have changed since 1997, but it still feels like a time Worph. As soon as this shit calms down definitely pay Venice another visit, it's so worth it :)
@@AlexanderAyling Please make a video about the SCHOOLS. I would like to know about the european school system, especially in Italy. The school schedules, curriculum... do they serve breakfast and lunch like in America? Do they have dual language curriculum system? School buses, etc. I know you can be creative! (Thanks for asking)
Great Video! Venice is a mythical, wonderful city in the middle of a misty, wet and dream-like lagoon. It has more myths, legends and old stories passed on from mouth to mouth, from father to child for 1500 years than other places. Tourism is an issue, but anybody with an adventurous mind can easily find spots, areas, or even islands far away from the tourist mainstream. You won't see Saint Mark's Square or the Basilica but you can have a different and much more genuine experience. The legend about the Patriarch of Aquileia, the tribute of 12 pigs and a bull as the origin of the Carnival in Venice, is just that, a legend. There are others... Again... Great Video!
I'm here right now- regarding gondola rode -there are places that teach you how to gondola paddle - i found this place 'Venice on board' online that on the website states that they actually offers it for 45€ for 90 minutes or so ! I'll be investigating 😊❤
I love this comment because the English word mascara is derived from the Italian word maschera. So ladies are putting on their “mask” when applying their eye makeup!
It’s always helpful but if you can’t learn Italian before you go many people speak English in the cities like Venice. Always worth doing your best to use the local language when you can though
I'm going to Italy for 15 days in November. I'll be going to Rome, Milan, lake como and florence, positano and pisa. I have 3 days extra so I'm debating between venice or somewhere else. Do you think it is worth visiting venice?
It’s definitely a beautiful city to visit at least once in your life, plus you’ll be there in the “Low Season” so there will be less tourists and lower accommodation rates. I’d say go for it.
I'm going to Rome for five days in Nov and planned to do a day trip to Positano. After doing some research it found that Nov is a holiday season in Positano where most shops and restuarants close during winter time so you better go to Sorrento instead.
hi Alex! thanks for the tips! i am planning on being there during the peak season, to celebrate my birthday with my partner. would it be possible for you to pass along what airbnb you stayed at?
Hey Alex, great video! I'm visiting Venice for the first time during Carnival. Is it okay to participate by dressing in classic carnival masquerade costume? Will the locals think we're awful? or will they welcome us to do carnival like a local?
Im headed to Rome, Florence, Venice and Milan this march. Now is that the start of the high season? And any advice for my channel, i'm a travel vlogger, military video etc. :)?
Thanks for the tips! We always try to travel in shoulder season, so I’m glad you mentioned what to expect (cold weather) did you and Carrie get to experience the nightlife? What was it like?
Great video! Two thoughts though. Venice really isn’t sinking so much as the sea levels are rising. At one point water was being extracted from the aquifer beneath Venice which caused significant settling but that was stopped quite some time ago. Secondly, in my opinion, NEVER stay at an AirBnB in Venice if you really love Venice. AirBnB’s are a major factor driving up the cost of rent for Venetians and pricing them out of their homes. One additional thought....never take a cruise that goes to Venice...there are too many negative effects to Venetians and the lagoon to list!
go VRBO every time. avoid over-priced hotels that makes most the money to NOT stay local. Anyone who says go to hotels are probably a hotel owner/investor/employee. hey there is one place you can stay at 15000,00 pound a NIGHT. lmao. Hotels, smh.
Are you serious air B&B is the only way to go stayed away from the tourist area we rented an Air B&B in duso doro near the college no pricy hotel! He even suggested it in this video
@@Sultan11-MF well when u go there off season you can find accomodations for 50euro per night per person 500m from piazza san marco. During high season its more like 150euro when u stay in mestre instead its way cheaper also and you can take the train or bus to venice. If you are still under the age of 30 u can also safe on entrance fees and on the vaporetti when taking the venice card. Its a bit more pricy when you are above 30. Hope i could help otherwise feel free to ask more

Good video! Thanks to the author of the channel for this fascinating video! It is interesting to see how people live in other countries! It is very important to know foreign languages on such trips. I would like to recommend to all travelers a practical guide to learning foreign languages by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages". This book contains a lot of useful tips on how to learn a foreign language for tourists, students, entrepreneurs and anyone who needs a foreign language in life. There are a lot of good tips on how to solve problems with the language from beginner to advanced level of language learning. It turns out that the traveler only needs to know a few dialogues and you can easily travel around the world! You don't have to spend a lot of time to fully learn a foreign language, you just need to learn what you can use when you travel. I wish everyone exciting travels!
