Fun fact: Rocomamas is founded by the founders of Spur (a steak and ribs specialty joint) as their smash burger specialty joint. Wimpy on the other hand, has always been one of those old-school diners known for their cheap [all day] breakfast.
Rocomamas was acquired by Spur Corporation, Brian Altriche (who founded RM) was just a Spur franchise owner, not the founder of Spur

I'd go Steers, RocoMamas, Spur, Wimpy. But to be fair I always get the Steers burger with more than one patty. And it kind of depends on the location, whether whoever's at the grill knows what they're doing or you just end up with a grey brick.

South African here, ironically I would rate the total opposite, Steers 1st, Spur 2nd, I don't know how the RocoMamas taste, but I hate Wimpy food, so Wimpy 4th. Love your channel, keep posting pls!🥰
RocoMamas taste great, and there's a huge selection. But somehow I've found them a bit on the small side, so not ideal if you're a big guy, and hungry. But somehow you can't see that in the video. They look the same size as the others, so maybe they've changed. For the rest, I agree with you.
I totally agree! From my 2 times having Roco's, I've found their burgers large but less flavourful than Spur or Steers. Wimpy is the only one on the list I can actually say that I hate. Their meat just tastes like absolute sh*t.

Spur - Go for the ribs and wings rather
Wimpy - For me, they're the simple breakfast people. Guess like a diner in South Africa 🤷♂
Steers - Nah, you gotta double pattie that at least. Plus the beast part are the chips imo

I think south africans like Steers as it's flame grilled, which is closer to a braai 😂😂
We are used to less processed food than our Western counterparts and Steers tastes more real to us.

I am South African and I have had some bad experiences with Steers either their buns is too thick or the meat taste off. But ja nothing beats braai, boerewors, pap or chakalaka 🙂.

As a South African, from Cape Town…… I’d never go to any of these spots for GOOD food. Maybe for convenience but definitely not good burgers….

Spur burgers are random and depend on where you get them. As a chain they're easily the best and worst I've had in how their quality changes between restaurant. For great burgers though you have to avoid the standard chains.

The thing with most South Africans we love well cooked meat, in most instances you'd find that our patties are well done and ftom watching the food network y'all Americas love your meat as bloody as possible. That's my 2cents...

Really enjoying your guys takes. 😊. I agree with most others. I always liked Spur chicken shnitzel with cheese sauce but that was ages ago.. Still worth a try guys! The burgers I don't know but gone down a bit. Steers always had the best best burgers. And chips! But kind of been wrongly franchised in some places depending on the place really can be dry and no love in it. As opposed to KFC burgers which are awesome in some places but way too oily in others. Rocco Mammas being an entrepreneur led thing you can tell there's care in the food. Try out any South African specialised small chain restaurants they really good. 😊

Steers Burger and Steers alone. Wimpy's breakfast is their strength, while Spurs Ribs is off the hook and Roccomamas is 2nd bsst for sure

Could you compare rocomamas to tigers milk, hudsons and bgr next? Lol aside from mcdonalds from time to time, those are the only places I get my bugers from.
Steers is my first choice and wimpy is very nostalgic of my childhood in the 90s
For Steers I would recommend that you get some like the Original King Steers Burger. It’s much better and more moist

If it wasn’t mentioned, Wimpy is a SA classic from 1967… Still a go to for a quick breakfast or burger… Taste has remained the same… But all main fast foods a using processed patties, apart from Rocco’s..

How's the price difference? Rocomamas is probably the best restaurant type place and not really known as fast food but will likely be the most expensive with high quality meat. Spur and Wimpy are also restuarants but perhaps a bit more focused on value and family with still decent meat but not like Roco. Steers is the garbage you eat at 2am after a night out like McDonalds.

Fast food restuarants in south africa differ from each other, eventhough the same name each item is a little different like we got 2 Steers Burgers at the garage and the meat were a lot bigger and delicious!

Steers is king man, it's takeout where you can sit down, the other 3 are mostly sit down where you can take out. King Steer Burger when you go there next!

Spur has the most ugliest, dry burgers. The quality is bad but they have great ribs and steak of course. I'm glad you guys tried all of these. Personally, I love Wimpy out of all of them.

None of our fast food places are consistent, sometimes all of them are good depending on the location or any given day. Our craft burger joints are tons better. Out of the 4 Roco is the best and wimpy is the best diner burger if I had to choose
