I've been waiting for all the cool videos and reviews to come out for this bike. I love it, I've never ridden an Aprilla, I've only had a 2019 Ninja 650 as my first motorcycle and I loved that bike, this bike is probably leaps and bounds better. Ufortunately after 11 months of ownership an old lady (83 yrs old) smashed into me when she floored her car out of a side street. I got hurt pretty bad but I was wearing full gear so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. I did need reconstructive knee surgery and I had multiple fractured bones. I'm still dealing with the knee and the ACL is completely gone. I have a grade 2 or 3 SLAP tear in my right labrum as well. I do PT twice a week. At the one year mark I'll need to decide if I want to repair the ACL, they can't take the screws out of my knee until 1 yr post op.
I don't know how people come back from an accident with a car, I don't know if I'll ever ride again but if I get another bike, it's probably going to be this one or a ZX6R. My family of course doesn't want me to get another bike, but we'll see. I just wish my one and only accident was due to my own fault and not a car slamming into me, cause it's been pretty detrimental to my frame of thought about riding again.

I'm terribly sorry to learn about what happened to you. But when the day comes if you want to ride again, I can tell you that the ZX-6R is a fantastic motorcycle. Stepped up from a Ninja 300. I keep hearing that 600 supersports don't have enough torque down low and that's just ridiculous. Obviously there is a massive difference between wheel torque at 5000 rpm and 10 000 rpm and the tall gearing doesn't help acceleration at low speeds, but it's still plenty. My biggest criticism would be how the ergonomics make low speed manoeuvres more awkward, but hey you can't get everything! Hope you get well soon, both physically and mentally.

the mental recovery is honestly harder then the physical in a lot of ways. It took me a while to ride again and even longer before I got my lean angles back. I will say do to the accident i'm a far safer rider and a better one for it. If you never come back to the sport there is no shame there is plently of enjoyment in other aspects of life outside of riding. As time goes on youll know if tis really for you or not.

I really enjoyed riding the RS-660 at chuckwalla. I normally ride a race prepped Ninja 400 there.
There are no similarities at all between the two. But having ridden a track modified SV650 the RS-660 was similar.
My take away if I purchased this bike for the track:
1.Junk the top triple clamp. The handlebar position did not work for me.
    2. Do something about the geometry. The RS-660 I was riding could not arc the turns. Felt like the bike just wanted to go in a straight line.
    3. Chip and exhaust. The bike made good power but, I could tell that it could really do much better once the Euro/California smog limitations were by-passed.
    4. Feet position. The rear sets were in a okay position as it relates to the handlebars upright ridding position. But, when it comes to replacing the stock with aftermarket, I think it's going to be tough to do (Engineers prove me wrong).
Only other thing I would need to change for this bike to suit me is GP shift pattern. Aprilia has a ECU flash that fixes that concern. I just did not have it on the bike I rode.
I hope this short review gives more non-biased information that is helpful to people curious about buying an RS-660.

@@yonniboy1 You can compare whatever you want to, but IMO it does not make sense to compare this to any I4. Price is far from the only criteria to compare motorcycles against each other. On the street, a twin gives a very different riding experience to an i4. On the track, you would never be gridded up against 600 super sport bikes on this. It's a different thing.

Looks are subjective, but in terms of performance and numbers on paper, I dont see how this competes at all with other 600 classes such as cbr 600, gsxr 600, zx6r 636, or r6.

60% of the torque at 3k rpm and 80% at 4k rpm... Not to mention best looking by far, actually comfortable to ride and every rider aid and safety feature imaginable. Need I say more!?

@@jbb3675 again looks is subjective. This does not perform better than those other 600s as they have more hp and tq, not ot mention 4 cylinder vs twin. So no you're wrong.

@@jponz85 The RS660 has 60% of the torque available at 3k rpm and 80% at 4k rpm. This is more powerful than the CBR650R with half the cylinders and significantly lighter. The CBR600RR is ridiculously uncomfortable as are the R6 and GSXR600 and they're gutless until you're past 6k rpm minimum. There are endless reasons why the RS is better than the competition. Similarly priced to the Supersport bikes and maybe 15% more than the standard sport models. All in all, I guarantee it will be a game-changer... Especially once the Tuono 660 and Tuareg 660 come out!!

As a street bike, you make a fair point. It is however far more expensive/premium than the CBR650R so it is difficult to compare them.
In terms of sheer performance however, the aprilia will get blown away by the 600 supersports which all have far superior power and better suspension and probably better braking (i am only basing this of the 636 for the brakes). Torque and power at 3k or 4k rpm is meaningless on track, on the streets i will agree it is probably EASIER to use.
For those of us who want an easy to use parallel twin to start off on (MTO7, SV650) this is too expensive.
For those of us who want a track weapon / sunday ride machine, this aprilia is a step back from the supersports.
This bike will appeal to those who want something more relaxed for the street, probably experienced riders who want the luxury of a high end bike without the high end power. It is a sheep in wolf clothing. A new place in the market? Maybe. A game-changer? I sincerely hope not : it is a bike that appeals to people who want style over substance, comfort over excitement and this bike will simply making riding more expensive.

What is the point of taking this to the track??? It was clearly designed to be a street bike dressed up as a race bike. As a street bike, I am sure it serves its purpose. A 10 year old GSXR or CBR 600 would kill this bike for a fraction of the price.

A 10 year old bike is more likely to need a full rebuild after a few trackdays than kill this Aprilia.

@@yuriabmxr I'm well aware of what it is. I will say it again. It was not designed to be a track bike. If you want an good looking entry level comfortable street bike, then this is the bike for you. If you want more of a track bike, then the CBR, GSXR, R6 KAWI 636 is a much better bike for much less money.

@@EricBanner571 "it was not designed to be a track bike"? 🤪. Yeah, ok. Different bikes give a different riding experience in a lot of different ways. Engine character is an important one and why a lot of people prefer twins and triples to I4s, regardless of price. I spent years racing singles. The fact a gsxr turned quicker lap times was irrelevant, just as it was when I was raving SV650s and Honda Hawks. All those bikes were more fun than my zx10r was and lap times did not matter because no sane person would compare a zx10r lap times to an SV. In any case, knock yourself out with a 10-year-old I4. Just know that is not everyone's cup of tea, subjectively.

@@yuriabmxr I get where you are coming from and I appreciate all types of bikes and engine configurations. I have had a CBR500R and loved it. Currently have a L6 GSXR750 and L7 DRZ400E and love those bike as well. Bikes are like tools. buy the correct bike for 80% of the intended use. Don't bag a bike when it was not designed for that purpose by the engineers. Anyway, all good. Enjoy what you you ride.
