Great demo, even though this pedal receives criticism, its sounding mighty fine here. Id love to hear the modded shoot-out. I wonder what it would sound like in a DIY Life pedal chain? ie instead of a Green Ringer in the Ringer, Rat, Hard Boost line-up.
I have recently considered getting this pedal, and apparently there’s a mod that consists in changing the polarity of 2… capacitors, I think? I don’t know exactly tbh, but it would be interesting if you did a demo of that because it supposedly gives more definition and it’s not difficult to do. Great video as always!
Listening again, this sounds very good considering all the negative press its had. In know in the past Joyo and others have rsken on the bad reveiws and tweaked their products accordingly. Have they now flipped the two errant capacitors to their correct positions.
No . . . That would go to the Ginean Hairy Show Fuzz, Mosky Big Fuzz, Behringer SF300, or even the Musiclily Fuzz IMHO. Joyo did something funky to the foxxtone circuit by getting some parts reversed which can make it sound a little thin and buzzy. I think it's definitely a fun pedal, but there are more versatile, thicker sounding fuzzes out there for under $50. That said, this demo is great as they always are on this channel.
The Big Fuzz is great. It's probably the most versatile of all sub-$50 fuzzes. I saw a hairy fuzz show on amazon before i knew what it was but i can't find it now and i don't want to order it from AE. I've had things sent back to mainland china because whatever province they were inspecting the package in had banned battery powered items or something 😢 at least that's what the translation of the tracking info led me to believe
have it for a long time for me the octave is almost not usable alkso the gain knob doesnt do anything, but yreah the midcut is powerful, i think overall if you know what to do with a soldering iron this is an excellent mod plattform
The Voodoo Octave is by far the best fuzz under 50 dollars we've ever played. What do you think? 👇
How does it hold up against the sf300?
I bought it in 2009, I use it on mid cut since then

We got two of them cause we want to do a modded vs non-modded video in the near future.
Awesome, I will be looking forward to it!

I would like you guys to demo the purple fab fuzz from danelectro
What's with the gloves LOL
Early comments in reviews stated that this pedal had been built incorrectly...do we know if Joyo have fixed this problem now? Cheers...
Hello, is it possible to make a video of how to fix this Pedal?
