I'm a Muff-obsessive (doubly so when it comes to Gilmour) and I'm legit impressed. I shall be purchasing this instead of the EHX Triangle reissue (i had one briefly but it was *very* compressed), I prefer their Green Russian, Opamp, and Ram's Head reissues. Their best Muff is the underrated Deluxe Big Muff Pi. Joyo should tackle something like that!!
Hot Witch is such a cool name Probably will pick it up, currently just own a lil RAT so kinda wanna experiment more and see what will happen if I put this pedal into my music composition pipeline Anyhoo cool and informative video ^~^ take care
Thanks a lot mate! It stacks really nice with the rat in low gain. If you push it, it gets really punchy! If you are considering in buying it, if you get it through the link in the description you will help the channel without additional costs to you!🎛️🔥
In terms of price range, probably Rusty Fuzz, specially if you will find a good second hand at Reverb. If you take out the financials from the decision, surely the Hot Witch. It is my favorite Muff til now. Sounds a lot organic, dynamic, not over compressed. Another point is that the Hot Witch occupies less space in the board. The Rusty Fuzz is a monster. I hope it helped you mate! 🔥🎛️
Yep, thank you, i am atm completing my first budget pedalboard - gift for my bday from wife - and am trying to get things i like or alternatives but dont kill the wifes budget ^^ So far on the list i have TC Electronics Cinders TC Electronics Rusty Fuzz Joyo Nascar Delay Joyo Narcissus Chorus Joyo Atmosphere Reverb Thinking about MojoMojo, El Cambo, Dark Flame, Caline T-Drive... any other suggestions or switch that You would made on a budget @@RiffsRigs ? I'm going to be honest and admit, I don't see the point of them trying to associate this to the BM or the Way Huge Swollen Pickle- doesn't sound like either one to me. You keep playing that Gilmour intro off Momentary Lapse of Reason- but this sounds nothing like it- far too weak and anemic imo. It needs more bottom end, more heft, more Muff. Besides, David ran his into an OD believe it or not- which actually kind of calms it down a bit. He used the Butler tube driver, I think- and then ran it all into a HIwatt amp. Hiwatts are a different animal- very pokey, rich midrange. All that made the fuzz he used cut through the mix like a knife.
You are right! It is true that the R series is already an entry level price of an used EHX. But you need to consider also that this is an "original tweek" on the circuit. There are other cheaper Muff versions, even from Joyo and Caline, but this modern voicing is something unique on the chinese market til now. Hope it helped you to have one more option on the table for deciding!

Wondering if it contains a high pass or low cut filter, if not it should sound amazing in bass… no reviews found to confirm this sadly ..
It has not. I can record a shorts later showing how it sounds on the bass! Keep in touch here on the channel! 🔥🎛️

It is a more rounded muff. It doesn't carry that aspect of OP-AMP so visible in this version, which honestly I like! 🎛️🔥
4:00 Sorrow!!!!
Good review and it sounds good but Joyo is increasing the quality but also the price and for the same money I would buy a used Ehx Big Muff Pi.

All joyo is crap..save up and get something decent
Why ao much hate inside this heart?! If someone will do a blind test between Joyo and "something decent", would you be able to figure it out?
