I do love this game. When I first played it I loved how it went against the typical RPGs. This is the game that taught me it is OK not to get into a fight. Especially when you come across two groups that would kill you. Those bandits are fighting those Hyenas? Best leave them to it. I can take on the winner if I want to. Not like they are going to thank me and not try to kill me after.

Yup the intensity this game had in that regard was amazing
Although it was made kinda redundant by the fact that you could outrun anything even with starter gear. I mean it didn't make it redundant just took some of the intensity away from it.

Anyone interested in this game I highly recommend it.. one of my favorite games ever, the music, the atmosphere, the survival aspect. You can make a lot of different builds, there's a ton of buffs and cooking that makes end game bosses easier but still difficult.. a lot of armor and items that synergize well with your build. All in all a great game I wish there was more like it.

Probably one of the most slept on games. Definitely in my top 10 favorites. I tell most people it’s survival dark souls when I describe it to them. I played a silly amount of this game co-op with my brother, we just stopped playing together at some point. So a little while later I picked it up solo and I had all my stuff from my co-op game! Making everything waaaaay easier. Now with the definitive edition being like a whole new game without my old saves I have to start fresh which I’m excited about. With stamina being so valuable it’s hard for me to try a tank/heavy armor build over glass Cannon. But we’ll see how this goes on a new game

I found this game quite interesting initially, despite it's flaws. However, it rapidly got stale. I just spent way too much time wandering around aimlessly in a pretty but mostly empty world, getting killed and then finding myself "teleported" to some annoying location far away on the map, with a scripted little adventure that I had to repeat every single time (captured by bandits etc) and then spend bloody ages trying to find my way back to where all my gear was kept. The sense of adventure I initially had upon exploring the world dissipated quite rapidly, to be replaced by tedium and me repeatedly questioning whether I was enjoying myself. Also, I see that the torso of the main character model is still broken like it was before, with his arms looking like they're pushed too far back and inwards into his chest. And his crotch still looks like it's been swapped with his backside too, like maybe he's wearing a nappy or something. Maybe I'm jusy remembering the game differently, but I'm not really seeing the graphical improvements that are mentioned.

It is a good game, but I quickly lose interest in 3D/third-person type games where you can’t jump or swim. There’s a spot in town where the platform for the dock comes up the the character’s shin and they can’t even step up over it. It’s just my preference but if a game is in an “open world” category, there should be total freedom of movement.

And you can learn all the skills below the chain, to get the skills above the chain it costs one breakthrough point. Also very important drop the backpack when fighting, otherwise you need a lot of stamina unnecessarily. When you sleep in the wilderness, always look out for butterflies. when you camp there, there are no ambushes. by the way, the ability of Burac is related to the equipped weapon.

Outward is an awesome game! The survival elements make you very attached to your character. The first one I made when the game came out, (before the DLC's), was a woman named Jen. She was one of the bravest, strongest, and resilient female heroes I've ever journeyed with. You're with this character through the good and the bad; getting sick, getting cured, suffering the elements, going to sleep, getting captured, and becoming a hero. So many RPG's are on rails, (and for sure, there is a story to follow here), but I love that bulk of the game's story is really just what you do to survive and grow. Jen's story highlights were less about what happened with the Holy faction, and more about that time she got sick and I struggled to put together a cure because she was also broke. I ended up having to sleep and rest it off while in the wilderness. That's the magic of this game. Now that the Definitive Edition came out, I rolled up a new character, (Jimmy), and I'm happily doing it all over again... although Jimmy's experience is already shaping up to be radically different thanks to Jen's Legacy items she left behind and my experience having played the game before. It's still no cakewalk, but his story is already uniquely different and enjoyable in a completely different way.

After playing Elden Ring for so long I can't play Outward without certain mods like Raid Mode which lets you increase enemy stats so they don't crumble instantly and an enchantment mod which lets you easily switch out enchantments as if they were Ashes of War. I’m letting you know right now that if you have my experience with the definitive edition, I’d recommend you play the original version until the game is fixed and polished by the developers.
    Biggest issues were:
Trog Armored Knights if looted will make you unable to interact with anything searchable and doors. I had to reset the game everytime. So if you are in the Antique Plateau, specifically the underground train station, you can not get the required key to unlock certain doors.
Getting kicked out while transitioning to areas through the loading screen with my coop friend. This happens from time to time.
Unable to play in the main map for the dlcs with my coop friend. Only the dungeons and the town area.
The original version of the game does not have this issue for me at least, so ima stick to that until they fix the definitive edition. Then I’ll move over.

i am looking forward the difficulty increase because i enjoyed the first 15-20 hours of the game, but after that i got too strong and the game became boring because the harsh survival aspect is what makes the game so tense but fun. after you get good tents, when you get a lot of money and all the good weapons, it's not interesting anymore. enemies are mostly easy (except for the secret super bosses) and the cold doesn't bother me anymore.

I love this game so much. Pre-ordered it on Epic, oops, and now trying to figure out how to redeem my free upgrade 🤣 They don't make it obvious.

I'm confused. Steam says I own this (DE), but I don't own the 3B DLC, so wouldn't have qualified for the upgade. (And no idea where I got it originally --I'm guessing Humble Monthly.) Looks like a lot of fun, though, so thanks for drawing our attention to it. :)

While this game is not Elden Ring by any means, stil is a very good game, specially taking in consideration the small team that made it.
I wish they'd release the definitive edition in physical form, I'd love to add it to my collection.

another good video wolf. these companies must love you for bringing their game to masses. (vahrens call etc).
this seems like a survival Fable game, but cool nonetheless. the terrain association definitely isn't hand holding for the gamers

I don't know how or why... But this game specifically the definitive edition has destroyed the audio on 4 of my devices. Yes, I tested each one, on purpose to make absolutely sure. First time, my 5.1 receiver. Mid game play, sound just quits. Completely dead. Input, zero output. Figured it was the receiver. Plug hdmi from console to TV. Playing the game, sound quits... Completely dead. Now I'm pissed but curious. I hook up the console to the 40" in the bedroom. Play the game, after an hour or so. Sound quits. Completely silent. Last, I hook the console up to the 3rd TV and same thing. After awhile... Sound stops completely. Not on any of the devices did I ever get sound back. I had to replace every single TV and the receiver. I swapped cords, tried different games, movies, modes and ports. 3 weeks later... No issues with the new equipment. Have played games and movies, no issue. Play this game and 1 hour into it... Sound stops completely. The fucking receiver no longer plays sound anymore on any mode, or port. Get it replaced again. Uninstalled this damn game and haven't had an issue since. Coincidence? Maybe but highly doubtful. How? I have no idea. But after replacing 2 receivers and 3 TVs. I'm not ever installing this game again.

You mentioned that you can only advance the host's game, but if you have someone join you for the game does their character level up and grow stronger with you? I ask because I'm thinking about playing this with my son, and doing the entire game together. But if one character does not advance, then it may not be worth doing.

Hopefully they fixed the bug that when jumping of a cliff you get stuck in the air because the character is not able to swim… basically the character is then lost. If this happens after days or weeks of playing you really get frustrated and you surely are done with this game…

I wanted to get the upgrade in order to get the PS5 upgrade. I already own the ps4 version. I was told I just needed to purchase the 3 brothers upgrade and the PS5 upgrade would be free. When I purchased the dlc, I saw the PS5 version was now showing "Upgrade" I upgraded and was charged the full price of $53 cnd plus the $8cnd for the DLC, so I was charged $71 total. Not recommened.

I played this about a year ago. spent waaaaay more time at the starting town than I should have, farming items over and over to craft and sell to make ridiculous amounts of silver. bought all the good items, them went to the next town and did the same. I kinda ruined the game for myself.

I loved this game! But my friend did not and griped the whole time. One thing he hated was that the first spell you get for free, Spark, is only accessible once. So I let him take it and then I couldn’t get it. I was fine with it honestly! But it really irritated him that he “took” something from me. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Anyone know if that’s still an issue? Can both players pick up spark now?
