- Our version of the traditional song "As I Roved Out", followed by a tune entitled "The Jackdaw", composed by Dylan Bible. Filmed and edited by Generic People as part of Maker's Meeting Speakeasy Sessions in The Oliver Plunkett, Cork. Mixed and mastered by Martin Murray.
Excellent groupe, vraiment une version très entraînante.
YOUr the Newfoundland the greatest
Aaahh I recognise that bar setting, would that be the upstairs smoking bar area in the
" Oliver plunketbar " in Cork city, one of me oll favourite/regular haunts for a few 😉🍻
I live in Newfoundland, eastern Canada.I had the pleasure to see this band live in my home town when they toured here last year.Brilliant how they keep the traditional sound alive.Spoke with a few of the band members after the show and hope you guys come back.Saw on the news about the fiddle theft when you's were here.On behalf of the Newfies that love yer music,we are truly sorry that some low life did that.Rock on!!
Okay this is 6 years later but really I think Rap Music came from these ditties. Be it Irish or Scottish this is Newfoundland sound.😊
I honestly can’t get enough of this! Amazing.
same here. its just too good!
still coming back.. year after year!
'Fusion music' is sometimes a dirty phrase but this band show just what can be achieved by blending tradition and modernity. Perfect.
Great band! These arrangements are so modern and trad at the same time!
In fact, I love that cute blond girl!
still listening... amazing song.
I think we're missing a first verse, about how he roved out before he met the pretty maid, unless I'm mistaken...

I have listened to this song hundreds of times by the band Planxty. I love this song and the way you perform it, very tight and clean. Thank you from America, well done!
hey guys i saw you on saturday night at The Oliver Plunkett in Cork, you put the place on fire it was amazing ! It's too bad I don't know the titles of the irish songs you performed, it was very catchy!!
Filipe Ribeiro I was probably there the same time. The music in Ireland was my favorite thing about being there

Increíble!
This is not "As I roved out" It's "Raggle taggle gypsy". Nevertheless, besides mixing up titles, it's quite enjoyable.
No, it is most definitely not the raggle taggle gypsy. It's a completely different song.
Just hilarious 🎩👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

@@newfoundlandband633 Andy Irvine. ..planxty 😊
@@newfoundlandband633 You refer to some Italian for the origins of the song. But this is the real origins: th-cam.com/video/JyP407UnUWw/w-d-xo.html
Wrong. They're two different songs. Christy Moore sings both. Have you been at the sherry?
To the lovely girl in vid are you single?
