    What the hell? This is exactly what I was looking for. Even tho I did not know it existed. I was hoping to find this. The reason is that I don't want it written anywhere, so I wanna go just by memory, and want to check it every day so I don't forget it. This is perfect. Thank you.

      You are risking your assets if you go by memory alone.

    Hello, I never knew about this. I already have my funds on my Ledger. If I perform this Recovery Check, and there is a problem like a failed check... will it automatically lock me out of my device? I'm not sure If I should move all my funds off the Ledger, unstake some projects, then perform the Recovery Check? Thank you

      @@kevinmorataya1869 Hello Kevin, I already did the Recovery Check without moving my coins and everything went fine. The Ledger device said it was the correct and valid seed phrase after I put in the 24 words. Just remember to uninstall the Recovery Check app when you are finished as it takes up a lot of space. Hope this helps.

    • @doscoronitas
      @doscoronitas 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      By the way, I must have entered or misspelled a word by accident and I failed the first Recovery Check. It did not lock me out. I just re-entered the 24 words again and everything went smooth and checked out. ✔️

    If we have used a passphrase and then our ledger is lost, does the seed phrase that we imported into the new ledger also use the passphrase or not?

    Hi, can you tell me how you can be sure nobody has tampered with your ledger when receiving it through the post?

    • @Buceesfanmaarten
      @Buceesfanmaarten 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The hardware can't be tempered with in a way that endangers your funds. Just make sure that you create the seed on the ledger, if the seller supplied the seed on a card or such do NOT use it but generate a new one. Other than that you're good, ledger live will check when first syncing your device to see if it's genuine.

      @@Buceesfanmaarten Sorry mate but you are completely wrong there. Fraudsters have been known to get devices and hack the hardware and put their own chips inside the device. Obviously never buy any Hardware Wallet from anywhere other than DIRECTLY FROM THE MANUFACTURER! DO NOT buy from Amazon or anywhere else, if you check 1 star Amazon reviews you will see reviews saying theres came with fingerprints on it!

    • @poorchristopher15
      @poorchristopher15 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are not in trouble. You can verify your 24 words with the recovery check by entering your original pin that you set up in the beginning. People make the mistake of using their passphrase pin to verify their 24 words through the recovery check.
      Remember, you have 2 pins. One pin for your 24 words.
      Second pin, for your passphrase. Do not mix these two together.

  • @somers2020
    @somers2020 ปีที่แล้ว

    What do you mean, "make sure you did not run the Recovery Check with a passphrase?" You mean with the Ledger Nano S PIN? Everyone has a PIN. How do you run it without a PIN?

    There is no way that an infected computer could give access to your 24 word phrase to any malicious people when connecting your ledger via usb to that computer?

    *Check the Passphrase (25th phrase) without going through the 24 phrases*
    Set a *Temporary Passphrase* and verify one of your receiving addresses like BTC or ETC through Ledger Live.
    *IMPORTANT:*
    Make sure you're NOT setting an Attached Pin passphrase since it's permanent and *will overwrite* the previous 25th passphrase(if already set). Basically you'll lose your wallet if you've forgotten the passphrase! Ledger *CANNOT* hold more than 1 permanent passphrase!
