    I rarely comment on videos, but I think it would be such a shame to not let you know how much I respect your effort. Your production is not only impressive, but the quality of your information, how you explain it, and your all around attitude blows my mind. Your work, I feel like, is so undervalued and hidden. Keep up the amazing videos please, and I’m sure great things will come to you and your viewers. I am so glad I came across your channel.

    I saw hundreds of videos in TH-cam talking about slog exposure grading etc. but your video’s are among my favourites

    Can’t thank you enough, Timmy. I was going crazy trying to figure out why my log footage on my a7iii was so noisy compared to when I was shooting with a7iv (Slog3). Your channel has definitely helped me understand how to properly grade and expose.

    I commented on another video of yours that was quite helpful for me, as I am new to videography and SLOG. I worked on film sets doing audio and post-production audio for a while, but never really gained experience behind the camera. While I understand the concepts of white balance, exposure, ISO, I am still trying to wrap my head around how to expose and capture the best SLOG video. Maybe a basic tutorial on some of that stuff could be good future content?
    You bring up a lot of good advice and questions here. If it were up to me and I weren't shooting videos with colleagues who are also shooting SLOG, I would have started my videography journey in a more simple manner. But, why not go all in, eh?
    Thanks for these clear and to the point videos. I am learning a lot.

    Hi! If you do not use polarize Filters and want to keep f 2.8 or similiar how do you expose outside whitout overexpose and get cinematograph look ? F16 or similar get good cine look ? Thanks

    • @TimmyLodhi
      @TimmyLodhi  ปีที่แล้ว

      Use an ND filter, not a polarizer filter

    hi Timmy, I've been watching for a while and I had a question. I've been trying to use SLOG 2 on my Sony a6400 but I've noticed that I get a lot of splotchy results/banding when I do. would you recommend I use HLG instead or am I doing something wrong?

    • @TimmyLodhi
      @TimmyLodhi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There could be a lot of issues at play here. First off, the a6400 is an older camera with an older sensor. Secondly, are you noticing the banding when you upload to TH-cam/Vimeo only? If so, you could just be dealing with compression artifacts. The a6400 is an 8bit camera and can only handle so much grading before the image starts to fall apart. Might be worth trying a different PP honestly.

      @@TimmyLodhi your sony 7iii camera is also 8 bit. how come you didn't have such a problem? everyone has the same problem :)

    • @TimmyLodhi
      @TimmyLodhi  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DsFIlms-q3x True, but the full-frame sensor vs. an APS-C sensor plays a huge role in image quality. Especially noise. Shooting and grading with SLOG2 on 8-bit cameras is an art form. You have to be precise with exposing, and grading as to not push the image too far.
