I knew the office would be on the list. but for some reason it was Kelly who came to mind before I remembered the worst ones again, Jan (possessive and aggressive), Pam (a boyfriend snatcher just like Jim), Angela (a cheater and mean), and Phyllis (who is also as mean as Angela even though she looks warm and motherly) which makes me feel that she is actually the second best woman/girlfriend in the office (just right behind the cute and innocent Erin). after all, the only bad trait she had is being fussy and her worst mistake is just slandering Ryan to Stanley
@@margarethmichelina5146 Holly's only bad moment, in my opinion, was how she treated Michael during the Office Christmas party after she came back to the Scranton Branch; in particular, she lied to him about how after they originally fell in love, she made him believe that a long distance relationship between them wouldn't work, so they couldn't be together. Only for him to learn at the Christmas party that she had lied to him by getting with A.J after leaving the Scranton Branch and having a long distance relationship with him whereas she wouldn't consider trying with Michael. What's more, she reveals to Pam her disappointment with A.J in that he's too content in their relationship and has no plans to marry her. (no wonder they broke up) I consider this the only worst part about her
I'm watching wondering why Rachel Berry isnt on the list and they go save a special spot for her 😂. Rachel was definitely terrible but can she beat Quinn getting pregnant by her bfs best friend and lying that her bf is the father?
I def agree that Rachel Berry could be pretty awful but almost everyone cheated on the show and Puck was really the one to blame for what happened with Quinn as he got her drunk, pressured her into sleeping with him by exploiting her insecurities and not being completely truthful about protection.

Rory Gilmore was terrible more because of her dropping out of Yale than about any of her relationships with her boyfriends. Rory was spoiled and think skinned. She could not take Mitchum Huntzberger hurting her feelings. This was much worse than being a bad girlfriend.

I thought you might include Ally McBeal. She's the title character, but in realtionships she's often jealous and selfish, pining after her first love while working alongside him and his wife. Her flaws were meant to make her relatable, but seeing her more than once a week can change one's perception.

Desiree "Desi" Nguyen on MacGyver 2016 should be on this list. She physically abused Mac, stalked him which resulted in his friend getting kidnapped and her coworkers getting killed, and blamed Mac for anything that didn't go her way.
The fact you chose Rose of Mia and Chelsea speaks volumes Yes, Rose was a horrible woman but Chelsea tried to control events through Charlie (A.e Alan getting to invite Melissa's friends over, trying to take over the house, keeping things from Charlie (I mean big things) and genuinly trying to control everything there is too do with his old lifestyle) while Mia was deadset on changing Charlie into what he wasn't, telling him to stop smoking and drinking, telling him to stop eating meat, etc. Rose was bad but they 2 are FAR worse
Rachel Green from friends is the worst girlfriend. Yes we all know that Ross is the worst when it comes to boyfriend but Rachel isn’t innocent either. She gets jealous whenever Ross is dating someone else and tries to ruin the relationship either on purpose or by accident. When Rachel is with Ross, in my opinion she doesn’t seem to love him as much as he is obsessed with her (and boy is Ross obsessed with Rachel in annoying level). It feels like she plays with his heart sometimes and love his attention. If he not being obsessed with her and his dating someone else, she gets mad and jealous. Rachel also dated her younger assistant and almost force a recently divorced man to marry her just because she jealous of Ross getting married. She also said yes to marring Joey even though she just had Ross’s baby even though it was misunderstanding.
I would also have both Tammy Swansons from Parks & Rec as honorable mentions. Even after Ron divorced them & tried to go back to them, they were both controlling & manipulative of him. Tammy 2 was also so controlling and manipulative to Jamm that he had to ask both Leslie & Ron to help him get out of his relationship.
Some honorable mentions Elaine Benes (Seinfeld)- she constantly off and on again with David Putty, most of the men she dates for their superficial looks, and becomes a friend with benefits with Jerry Rachel Greene (Friends)- shouldn’t have to explain why she’s a bad girlfriend, but here we go. She rejected a qualified women from being her secretary just so she hire and date a guy whose only defining quality is his looks. And her biggest sin is her constant off and on again with Ross. She goes so far as ruin his relationships to get him back, only to break up with Ross later.
On top of that, whenever things go bad between her and Ross, she callously acts like she's the victim and Ross is the villain, instead of owning up to her own role in things going bad.
Get out of here with the Rachel thing. The one constantly doing that was Ross. Their first break up was because Ross couldn't trust her 2 minutes with Mark!
As much as I enjoy watching SATC Carrie should be at the top of this list hands down. Horrible to Aiden and dozens of others she burned through men constantly. Also can’t leave this comment without pointing out she was pretty crappy to her girlfriends too - especially Samantha.
I would add Sam from Danny Phantom on here. She spied on Danny every time he went out with another girl (especially if it was Paulina). The only time Danny ever spied on her when she was a date was when he thought she was in danger and then she had the nerve to be mad at him for that. And even when it’s revealed that the guy she was dating wasn’t who she thought he was, she never apologized to Danny for yelling at him
I surprised that you didn't add Jade from Victorious. No matter what anyone thinks of her there can be no denying she makes to be the worst girlfriend ever. She never trust Beck around any girl, she is always jealous, is possessive, and doesn't do anything nice for Beck. She gave him a can of lemonade for his birthday. Not to mention that she and Beck fight in literally every scene that their in. And she is always insisting that they break up only for her to miss him the next day. Seriously Jade is the worst

summer Roberts can be awful girlfriend too in the begin of season 1 and 2, she controlling Seth, giving hime hard time, going out with Zack over Seth, and even never gave Seth his side of his story and keep walking away from him.
Lists like these need to distinguish between characters who were intentionally made to be terrible and characters who the writers wanted to be good but were accidentally made terrible. Marnie and all the characters on Girls were intentionally made to be jerks, but the audience seemed to miss the point.
Regarding Alex from OISTNB, a huge thing about her that wasn't mentioned here was how immediately after Piper gets out prison, she starts hooking up with a guard, even though they were supposed to be married. With that in mind, I don't think she was better than Larry...
I'm surprised Carmen Lopez from George Lopez wasn't on the list, she'd go back to the same guy she likes if the guy apologized, dated behind her parents back because the guy got a girl pregnant and his father didn't discipline him, etc.
@@frankieseward8667 I wouldn't say that. There are times where Georges strict method was needed and times Angie's gentle approach was. The show did a good showcasing both of these sides of parenting and showed how you need to be firm with your kids but also let them be themselves and express themselves. George went too far sometimes with being strict, and Angie would sometimes be overprotective.
Laura Lang and Lydia from Two and a Half Men. Lydia criticized people and didn't care for her two sons and Alan's divorce lawyer Laura kept trying to make moves on Charlie after sleeping with him, even during meetings with Judith and her lawyer, and then unfairly turned on Alan after Charlie broke up with her.

A couple of honorable mentions: Elaine Benes on "Seinfeld" (often dated men for just their looks and was in an on-again, off-again relationship with David Putty, the one guy who was right for her) and Rachel Green on "Friends" (also often dated men for superficial reasons, hired Tag Jones as her assistant just because he was young and hot, and could never make up her mind about Ross).
I was expecting some of the Friends characters to be on this list. But with that said, there's this English soap I used to frequently watch called Eastenders which to me has had a fair share of female characters who have not exactly proved to be good role models to their boyfriends; Janine Butcher - she uses her significant others just to get money off them, even if it means driving them to their death. Lisa Shaw/Fowler - who cheated on her husband Mark with her ex-boyfriend Phil who she had a kid with and who she once shot and couldn't share her daughter with and was psychopathic enough to get an assassin to kill Phil. But the worst girlfriend who any character could date, let alone even hook up with, is Sam Mitchell - selfish, sluttish, manipulative and cares not a damn whether her significant others are already married or not. Even some of the men she's been with are bad boys, i.e. Andy Hunter, and she has not learned from those mistakes then. She's also a bad mother, abandoning her son with someone else. No wonder her brothers Phil and Grant are often ashamed of her.
Janice was NOT a horrible girlfriend; she may have been annoying but she was not a bad person. Chandler on the other hand was pretty unpleasant towards her; he was not a great boyfriend in the earlier seasons.
None of these girlfriends even come close to mine. She was so bad, I decided to give myself a decade off from women. Am I lonely and depressed? Yeah, a bit. But sweet JESUS...the peace and quiet. The lack of drama and BS. THE FREE TIME. I honestly don't know if I can go back.
If this was worst wives Shiv Roy would absolutely have to be on this list. The way she treated Tom was truly awful. Offering up for prison in season 2 and cheating on him.
(IMO) In #3, it should've been someone else. Many of these characters were worse than Karen, and if I remember correctly she was only in one episode. There was Jeanette who ended up destroying Ted's apartment.
Wow...If you have an idea for a bad girlfriend, get Laura Prepon involved in the project. She was the bad girlfriend in Orange is the New Black & How I Met Your Mother. She was also the friend of the bad girlfriend in That 70s Show.
Velma should've been on here or at least an honorable mention. Being very controlling of Shaggy in Mystery Incorporated got the gang into trouble more often than not. She tried to "fix" him by trying to change him for HER and not for Shaggy's own good, like having him slap a rubber band on his wrist for saying "like" and forcing him to wear tight jeans that very clearly put him in discomfort. All of this instead of just accepting Shaggy for who he is. And as an alternative of just ending the relationship because of all of her failed attempts to change Shaggy, Velma forces Shaggy to choose between her and Scooby-Doo. And because Scooby has been tenfold better of a best friend than Velma was as a girlfriend, Shaggy chooses Scooby and asks if Velma still wanted to be friends (showing that he is a caring soul). This justifiably upsets Velma to the point where she would not cooperate with the gang if Shaggy was still a part of it. Yeah Velma learns later that trying to control and change Shaggy was wrong by sticking up for him after his future love interest happened to be a criminal and insulted him. But Velma never once apologized to Shaggy because of her massive ego.
When they put Rachel Berry as #1 I was like yessss. She was the worst girlfriend to all her bfs in Glee. She dated Finn 4 times before he broke up with her because she cheated on him with Brody, and he was doing so much better as the Glee Coach. But then he tried to get back with her.
Wow. I never would’ve imagined any of these actions. On the upside, just seeing all this makes Janice from Friends look pretty damn decent, even if she was annoying and cheated on Chandler.
I've never been into rom-coms, mostly because I don't get what you're supposed to enjoy when protagonists sometimes do awful things to those they love. In the Notebook, Ryan Gosling's character tricked Rachel McAdams' character into dating him, and I think she abandons her boyfriend who was the "right choice" for Ryan (if I got the right movie), and that's considered one of the best ones? A lot of these women are MCs that lie, cheat, and manipulate. It just comes off even more as a messy genre, because I can support a good story, even one where I'm supposed to hate the MC, but sometimes, these make me wonder if I'm supposed to support them. If they play on surrogate feelings without justifying them, then I guess that's fine.
How is Lily Aldrin from How I Met Your Mother not on this list? Marshall is the best TV boyfriend ever, these guys even acknowledge that! However, she doesn't let him have his own opinion (new Jersey for example), she's controlling at times, she broke marshalls heart in season 1, she constantly meddled in everyone's lives, particularly Ted's, she maxed out her credit cards that one time and expected Marshall to handle it, and when he got understandable upset she tried distracting him with sex, she hated getting to know his family, while her dad wasn't necessarily the best, he did try to reconcile many times and Lily consistently rejected him, not only that, she even confessed to Ted that she wished she wasnt a mother! she was the most frustrating character on the show
Janice was annoying not downright bad, but she was never right for Chandler. Rachel was awful, i do wish Glee had explored the toxicity of bad relationships, because the shows efforts to satirize glee club, they inadvertently turnrd a blind eye to toxic issues.

I don't understand how the How I Met Your Mother fandom hates Zoey more than Jeanette. Sure Zoey lied to Ted and tried to turn the public against him but Jeanette destroyed Ted's apartment when she found Barney's playbook. I was wondering if Rachel Berry would be on this list since she was on the list of top 10 worst main characters in TV shows. Didn't think she would place that high though. Also with Rose she named all her cats Charlie, slept with Charlie when he was drunk, and made a website bashing Charlie. I get Charlie broke her heart but she had an unhealthy obsession with him.
I actually like Zoey, so I'm not trying to counter your point. But the way I see it, Jeanette was more of a comic relief. Even Ted was aware of how bad the relationship was for him and, if I'm remembering correctly, at some point admitted that he was only with her because the sex was amazing. Besides, they introduced her as a creepy stalker and the episode ends with Ted saying, "Before a man meets the woman he'll marry... he'll make one final, horrible mistake. For me, that was Jeanette." So Jeannate was never even supposed to be liked; she was basically a watered down villain. On the other hand, Zoey is not supposed to be hated. In fact, she eas the girlfriend who most effortlessly gelled in with the rest of the gang; her character was written in a way that made her fit in easily. We are supposed to empathize with her character. And honestly, I personally do see her perspective and can acknowledge that she was right in her own ways. However, since we see the story unfold from Ted's perspective, I also understand how most people fail to empathize.
Should've really replaced Janice with Rachel. I know most people still want to believe that Ross and Rachel had a fairytale ending but, if the series had continued she would've just ruined it again. She was the stuck up popular girl that Ross wanted to date. She only started going out with him because of an old video tape of him getting ready to be a stand in for her boyfriend at the prom. Throughout the series she made Ross miserable and even tried to rewrite history to make him feel guilty about being with another woman. Something that happened because of a misunderstanding that SHE caused.
stfu rachel is amazing. she never cheated, made a list of why not to date someone, lied about ending the marriage, etc. she's a saint especially compared to ross and janice

Lists like these need to distinguish between characters who were intentionally made to be terrible and characters who the writers wanted to be good but were accidentally made terrible. @@frankieseward8667 I wouldn't say that. There are times where Georges strict method was needed and times Angie's gentle approach was. The show did a good showcasing both of these sides of parenting and showed how you need to be firm with your kids but also let them be themselves and express themselves. George went too far sometimes with being strict, and Angie would sometimes be overprotective.

I was expecting some of the Friends characters to be on this list.
But with that said, there's this English soap I used to frequently watch called Eastenders which to me has had a fair share of female characters who have not exactly proved to be good role models to their boyfriends;
Janine Butcher - she uses her significant others just to get money off them, even if it means driving them to their death.
Lisa Shaw/Fowler - who cheated on her husband Mark with her ex-boyfriend Phil who she had a kid with and who she once shot and couldn't share her daughter with and was psychopathic enough to get an assassin to kill Phil.
But the worst girlfriend who any character could date, let alone even hook up with, is Sam Mitchell - selfish, sluttish, manipulative and cares not a damn whether her significant others are already married or not. Even some of the men she's been with are bad boys, i.e. Andy Hunter, and she has not learned from those mistakes then. She's also a bad mother, abandoning her son with someone else. No wonder her brothers Phil and Grant are often ashamed of her.
Eastenders is really popular here in the U.K. - and yes I agree with you on those!!! I had no idea they showed Eastenders in another countries.
Janice was NOT a horrible girlfriend; she may have been annoying but she was not a bad person. Chandler on the other hand was pretty unpleasant towards her; he was not a great boyfriend in the earlier seasons.

Being very controlling of Shaggy in Mystery Incorporated got the gang into trouble more often than not. She tried to "fix" him by trying to change him for HER and not for Shaggy's own good, like having him slap a rubber band on his wrist for saying "like" and forcing him to wear tight jeans that very clearly put him in discomfort. All of this instead of just accepting Shaggy for who he is. And as an alternative of just ending the relationship because of all of her failed attempts to change Shaggy, Velma forces Shaggy to choose between her and Scooby-Doo. And because Scooby has been tenfold better of a best friend than Velma was as a girlfriend, Shaggy chooses Scooby and asks if Velma still wanted to be friends (showing that he is a caring soul). This justifiably upsets Velma to the point where she would not cooperate with the gang if Shaggy was still a part of it.
Yeah Velma learns later that trying to control and change Shaggy was wrong by sticking up for him after his future love interest happened to be a criminal and insulted him. But Velma never once apologized to Shaggy because of her massive ego.

When they put Rachel Berry as #1 I was like yessss. She was the worst girlfriend to all her bfs in Glee. She dated Finn 4 times before he broke up with her because she cheated on him with Brody, and he was doing so much better as the Glee Coach. But then he tried to get back with her.

I've never been into rom-coms, mostly because I don't get what you're supposed to enjoy when protagonists sometimes do awful things to those they love. In the Notebook, Ryan Gosling's character tricked Rachel McAdams' character into dating him, and I think she abandons her boyfriend who was the "right choice" for Ryan (if I got the right movie), and that's considered one of the best ones? A lot of these women are MCs that lie, cheat, and manipulate. It just comes off even more as a messy genre, because I can support a good story, even one where I'm supposed to hate the MC, but sometimes, these make me wonder if I'm supposed to support them. If they play on surrogate feelings without justifying them, then I guess that's fine.

How is Lily Aldrin from How I Met Your Mother not on this list? Marshall is the best TV boyfriend ever, these guys even acknowledge that! However, she doesn't let him have his own opinion (new Jersey for example), she's controlling at times, she broke marshalls heart in season 1, she constantly meddled in everyone's lives, particularly Ted's, she maxed out her credit cards that one time and expected Marshall to handle it, and when he got understandable upset she tried distracting him with sex, she hated getting to know his family, while her dad wasn't necessarily the best, he did try to reconcile many times and Lily consistently rejected him, not only that, she even confessed to Ted that she wished she wasnt a mother! she was the most frustrating character on the show

I don't understand how the How I Met Your Mother fandom hates Zoey more than Jeanette. Sure Zoey lied to Ted and tried to turn the public against him but Jeanette destroyed Ted's apartment when she found Barney's playbook.
I was wondering if Rachel Berry would be on this list since she was on the list of top 10 worst main characters in TV shows. Didn't think she would place that high though.
Also with Rose she named all her cats Charlie, slept with Charlie when he was drunk, and made a website bashing Charlie. I get Charlie broke her heart but she had an unhealthy obsession with him.
I actually like Zoey, so I'm not trying to counter your point. But the way I see it, Jeanette was more of a comic relief. Even Ted was aware of how bad the relationship was for him and, if I'm remembering correctly, at some point admitted that he was only with her because the sex was amazing. Besides, they introduced her as a creepy stalker and the episode ends with Ted saying, "Before a man meets the woman he'll marry... he'll make one final, horrible mistake. For me, that was Jeanette." So Jeannate was never even supposed to be liked; she was basically a watered down villain.
On the other hand, Zoey is not supposed to be hated. In fact, she eas the girlfriend who most effortlessly gelled in with the rest of the gang; her character was written in a way that made her fit in easily. We are supposed to empathize with her character. And honestly, I personally do see her perspective and can acknowledge that she was right in her own ways. However, since we see the story unfold from Ted's perspective, I also understand how most people fail to empathize.

Should've really replaced Janice with Rachel. I know most people still want to believe that Ross and Rachel had a fairytale ending but, if the series had continued she would've just ruined it again. She was the stuck up popular girl that Ross wanted to date. She only started going out with him because of an old video tape of him getting ready to be a stand in for her boyfriend at the prom. Throughout the series she made Ross miserable and even tried to rewrite history to make him feel guilty about being with another woman. Something that happened because of a misunderstanding that SHE caused.
stfu rachel is amazing. she never cheated, made a list of why not to date someone, lied about ending the marriage, etc. she's a saint especially compared to ross and janice
