I used to work at a mazda dealership. Customers would usually compare it to the bmw z3 saying that the z3 was faster. The manager would overhear and tell me to take em on a hot lap around town. The miata can literally be thrown into a corner and be adjusted mid turn with a small amount of steering input. These customers were amazed and NONE of them mentioned the z3 after our run. Some said it was the fastest they had been in. We sold dozens of em per month. They really are a scalpel. Never driven one with a turbo but, one guy had a 5.0 liter ford motor in his that sounded like it meant business. Great car and video. Thanks for bringing back the memories fellas!
gonna have to start using that one when people give me shit and tell me to get a diffrent car haha. Old beamers are quick and grip but dont have the same driving feel as the miata and don't inspire as much confidence in drivers at the limit (on a track this is ok, but back roads you might fly off a cliff" turbo is a great route just finishing my 92 C Package with a 1.8l and gt2871r, should be up and tuned soon when i get the exhuast done. Feeling Blessed. Just found a 91' garage kept, 85 year old man owned it. So, clean unreal. A/C car 5speed. recent 5k service at Mazda, new OEM exhaust and tires. 2500 cash. I swear I'm sitting on 10-12k of car. Such a blast to drive. When I open the garage and see it. Can't believe I got it for 2500 lol.

Hasn't dynoed yet, followed by 250whp, then "this thing must be at least 260whp" and the title says 270. You're stretching bud. The cx turbos don't flow very well. I'd wager he's at maybe 240 if he's lucky.
Same, I call BS. "Probably making.." "probably around". Dyno then prove it before calling out making anything close to what gregs stock 1.6 was making.
The stock miata 1.6 can hold a lot of power, but it's torque and where it comes in that bends rods. Higher Torque levels at higher rpms tend to treat the rods better. So a bigger turbo will definitely be easy on these engines.
So many guys complaining about the whp, boost, can’t make this can’t make that. Who cares in reality, it’s seems like a really fun little car! I’m a turbo Lotus Elise and 73 RS 911 rep owner and still want this thing big time!
That breather filter on the valve cover will fill up with oil vapor and eventually drip everywhere if he keeps it like that. He needs a good catch can asap if he doesnt want a mess.
I've been running one on mine for about 8 years and it's never filled up with oil vapor. Not saying it can't, but I heard that's just one of those rumours going around.
I highly doubt it. 2 years of running a catch can off the breather and not a drop. And the other side closes above like 4500rpm to prevent oil into the manifold.
I believe you. But it really shouldn't happen unless there's some serious blow-by from either ruined rings or a very high hp car. Best to be on the safe side anyway.
