    At those performace levels you should start thinking about some serious aero mods. Not necessarily to increase downforce but to decrease lift. Ie. Front splitter + rubber strip air dam to stop air going under the car + piece of abs to cover front of wheels to stop air from going under the arches. Flat undertray with basic rear diffusser. Perhaps hood and fender vents. I'm planning to build ground effect/fan car Miata this year so If you're interested I'll keep you posted.

    Pro tip for getting distortion free audio: Get an SM11 lav (or any other dynamic mic) and a Zoom F6 (or any other 32bit float audio recorder). The SM line from Shure can handle over 180db, and the Zoom F6 in 32bit can handle as loud a signal as you can throw at it. You also dont need to adjust audio levels because of how 32bit float works. Then we'll all be able to hear your car screaming crystal clear!

    from my studying the theme of measuring power of the car i foudnd out
    torque is directly connected to G's you experience
    by using your phone accelerometer u can make a graph of acceleration over time and then put it on graph with rpms and calculate power from that
    it is power - air drag and engine interlan ressistance
    but if u reccord G's when decelerating from the same gear and over lay it on the graph you can add them together and u get power made on piston

    I see longer gearing benefitting this car the most since the torque becomes more subtle so you’ll get less wheel spin. On top of that as you stated less shifting. This car is a beast I don’t think people understand the power to weight ratio

  • @rh2racing
    @rh2racing 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wish more tracks did roll racing. Cars like miatas really don't like doing digs. Yes, they can but if you build it like that you kill the rest of the driving ability it has. Doing a roll really gets to the meat of it showing how much power you have without (much) wheel spin.

    Love the channel. I recently picked up a Miata which is totally not my style but I think it could be fun. I think your video editing and information is awesome man your doing a great job. I think you would really truly enjoy a fast car! I’ve always been a drag racer at heart as it can give awesome nerdy technical information and data to build off of. Plus going 0-60 feet in say a turbo LS mustang on a Holley terminator x in less then 1.4 seconds is probably the best and most memorable experience I’ve had in my life. Canyon runs are cool but you don’t really go brag to your buddies about your drive through the mountains.... I’m truly just trying to inspire you here no hate. Get after it and keep building cool shit!!!

    Drag radials at the drag strip. That will make you hook. Also softer suspension your coil overs are probably stiff as hell that really doesn't help when it comes to hooking

    So I did my timing belt like in one of your videos. I also fixed the idle time. My issue right now is that it sometimes feels slower than it should between 1-2k rpm, I will tighten the throttle cable a little more tomorrow since trottle response is delayed by 1 second

    This is an excellent example of why big power means nothing for 0-60 without reliable traction. You've made me realize that anything past 300hp is really unnecessary for a street Miata. Just look at the Hellcat. Without traction control and a crazy-good ZF auto, that car wouldn't do much better.

      The 9.8 was on the 91 octane tune, the following pulls were on E85 and it did 6.9, and in a more recent video (slightly larger turbo) you can see a 5.85 second run 😃

    1994 ford thunderbird 4.6L V8 0-60mph 7.34 seconds... 4 speed with over drive, so its an 8 speed. second gear 3800rpm is 55mph... the engine runs out to 6800rpm. smaller tires and its going 0-60mph in 6 seconds. i could leave the parking brake on, wouldn't even know, IT'S ON! The Thunderbird does it quietly!!!!! you'll only know its racing if you happen to see it... just like finding a shooting star in the sky!

    Comparing to advertised 0-60 times really only applies if you too are actually on a track. For example, cars like the Hellcat have so much trouble hooking up on the street that they do 0-60 in around 5.7sec in the real world. Source: Car and Driver
