Great video!!! I haven't watched for a while as I've been busy but it's good to see your fishing well and getting all them bigger pike. Well done Dan. 😎🎣🐟
Cheza your back!! Good to see you in the comments again thanks for returning. Yeah so nice to get a few good ones this winter still time for a monster I hope
A little tip I will share with you Dan to avoid losing expensive lamprey. Hook it on as normal. Use a baiting needle to pull a length of thickish line through the middle of the body and between your trebles. Take a few tight turns around the body, tie it off and trim the tag ends. Your lamprey cannot come off now, even if both hooks come out. This way, you can use it all day, catch fish, and it will still be leaking blood when you pack up.👍
Finally up to date with the videos. Good videos and if people follow your setup they won't go far wrong. I have even changed mine slightly on the link ledger swapped from mono to a stiffer material. When explaining you might also want to say it casts better than just having the lead directly on the line. Which is why I started using it. You quite often say about fishing locations and not over fishing. which is the devil and the deep blue sea with TH-cam You might want to read Nigel Williams book. In the book he talks about keeping an eye on venues watching what comes out and reaping the benefits. Even Neville fickling will inspect photos of good fish to get any hints about the venue. This has lead them to become two of the most successful pike fisherman in the country. So for everyone else getting hints of locations from Facebook and TH-cam can't really blame them. Personally I don't put much up on Facebook or TH-cam at all don't want to spoil my venues especially if they will not handle pressure. Just finding out 1 of your locations I was able to figure out 2 more it doesn't take much of a clue. Yet putting a camera at angles that doesn't give the location away isn't easy. This also can spoil the video slightly when it doesn't show what's happening. And like you say I need something to watch on TH-cam.
Just another bit to add. catching a big pike from a venue you have found is definitely more satisfying, but it can be very hard to find them just using your own knowledge. It's also hard to stay local and just catch little doubles when you see others getting big upper doubles and twenties from their venues
You're doing a lot better then me this season Dan, they just don't seem to be playing ball for me at least on the lakes anyway, rivers have been flooded, gone down now but the end of season isnt far off. I've been trying groundbait (fishmeal with sardines mashed in) to try & bring them & smaller silver prey fish in.
I don't know if the pike float you have been using is in this video or not. It's just that I have seen someone else using one very similar and said it was one of Eddie Turner floats. Probably one of the most famous pike anglers in the country. I didn't know where it was from myself just know I had seen them around.
Thanks Robert I've seen you popping up in the comments and your obviously a very analytical angler with the fish's welfare in mind at all times which is so nice to hear. The float was out of a joke Christmas present! A beginners fishing set would you believe but it's come in very handy and I've had the last laugh 😂. Thanks for watching mate
@@dangoesoutdoors897 really good videos. 👍. I have smashed as many pike videos on TH-cam as possible. Some from around your area. My interest being I deliver locally. Some on fenland which I have been visiting myself another area I get to travel around. And some locally on the Trent Nottinghamshire. I'm up to date on your videos hopefully you'll be back on them in autumn. Might have to watch the Trent videos next

well done dan on your fish, the first one was a good clean fish. good luck on the new waters you have some fab pike waters to go at!!
So far so good Ian looks like the kind of place a real big one could be hiding
Some good pegs to the right 15min walk😉

Nice one Dan, haven't got a clue where the first venue is, looks good. Still struggling on the pit with the lures!!
I'll let you know next time I see you on the bank mate. That pit can be tricky but they're in there
Well done on the first fish dan. Some of us were just discussing that stretch last week and saying how poorly it fishes for pike.
Oh no not what I want to hear! Certainly looks fishy but you never know. Thanks for watching mate
@@dangoesoutdoors897 You've done better than one or two of us have so it maybe just us.

Keep going mate you'll get them I'm sure! I often bait up with just some small chunks of used deadbaits as you've probably seen so worth a try
