I've fished for pike and carp on tidal rivers, and agree with all that. I suspect pike feed on the salt line, and have always found high and low tidal still points most productive. Was about to say those pike feed on eels, mullet and dabs when you beat me to it. Bait presentation can be a problem when it's running hard.
Carp and Barbel can be caught closer to the sea than Pike. The current British record Barbel grew to 18lb feeding on shrimp before heading upstream to grow bigger.
I don’t fish but love the presentation and knowledge.👌
Thx Kev👍
@@TheBassRacer Hi Warwick. Just showed my keen fishing neighbour your vid,,,,,, small world ha ya, he recognised you from his lakes.

Thanks for sharing some of your experience, some invaluable knowledge! - how have you found tidal rivers fish for pike when in flood? Cheers
I would not waste your time on them if coloured find a pit, they are good when colour is dropping out. Time is key then. If in doubt leave them out😉

@@TheBassRacer True enough. I've caught large carp with ocean going ships loaded with containers passing through my swim.
Sweden has huge Pike in its brackish waters, there are many documentaries on English Pike fisherman's adventures.🏴👍
I’d love to fish in Sweden one day👌 think the Pike there are tolerant to it
What float you using about 9 minutes in?
The Floats I use for all my fishing are sold by Eddie Turner, I call them ET nod floats they are on his web site
@@TheBassRacer cheers, will have a look
Great video 👍
Is it worth to try tidal river with lures?
They work on the upper reaches, hard to fish further down. Give them a go great to explore a river. Go back with baits where you get follows
