I use it on my AH MK2 but the only thing that really bother me is the phasing issue when you blend ths signals with the DRY/WET pot. I wonder if this has been fixed on the FX+ 🤨
Im looking to get a new fx unit to use as a dj on an Allen & Heath Xone mixer, would this work on a send/return set up? To add fx to each channel on the mixer? Im new to this side of music hardware so forgive me if i sound stupid😂
Does it has the pro specs (low self noise, dynamic range etc.) for analog chain mix bus use (sending the whole mix through it) and mastering use with high end analog gear? If you would want to spice things up a little in the mid range for example?

I notice at 5:01 it skipped a step from Saturation to Mid Drive, I've read that people experience this bug, wondering if that's expected and/or fixable by elektron!
I recently picked one up after trying it...I own close to 100 fx pedals but was hunting something more performance-y. Pretty blown away by it. Massively misunderstood and under-rated. Tempted to add a 2nd tbh
@@DannyPearson-k1v was thinking of doing some vids once we're into our new set-up, and you're right, this thing does not have a lot of good coverage of usage types. In context...i record to picture as I do sound design, and I work to super tight deadlines so line preformance works better for me than in-the-box asset stacking, and the Heat+ seems to have been created for this as its a instant but deep and intuitive tool set off textures and flavours far more applicable and controllable than any of the similar units I've tried. It's undersold by keeping the Heat moniker...that's only the smallest part of this package
I should mention that it REALLY comes alive with an added Midi controller like a Faderfox, then you're removing any page loading and just messing with everything in realtime
Would it be possible that you could make a video about the fx's compressor? That is if you still got it. I want to get proficient using compressors, but don't know if I should get a separate compressor or if the one on the heat fx is good enough. Do you think the fx's compressor is any good? Or should I go out and get one?
if u own a OG Heat or mk2, i highly recommended purchasing the Korg Kaoss Pad FX native software. the UI is very familiar to the Heats & also the other Electron UI too. But it's very similar otherwise to the digital fx in this Heat+FX.
@@atetraxxHow much do all the analog and digital effects as individual pedals cost? How many overdrive/distortion/fuzz pedals would you need to buy to cover the range this has? Do the math, babe. I’ll wait.
Thanks for the overview 🙏🏻 I completely agree on Elektron’s marketing is missing the mark when it comes to the USPs of the AH +FX, and probably some other devices, too. Muscle-memory-powered demos or simply providing some end results doesn’t seem to work for a lot of people. For instance, I THINK I’m missing the Elektron style sequencer and yes, I know it has MIDI implementation, which is barely mentioned on the product page of their website… but I also have to see and hear what it’s capable of when connecting for instance a Digitakt or other Elektron device for sequencing the effects. Just like on the Syntakt. Had to find out through a video of Group Technologies Australiasia, that I’ve watched just before yours. Still figuring out if I should buy the combination of Microcosm + Chroma Console or go with Elektron’s single unit, but because of these two videos at least I’m considering the Analog Heat +FX. And, that should be the one goal for marketing.
Hi , great work. Would absolutely love to see it ,if you made a video about Overbridge and the AH + FX. You quite clearly know this machine very well indeed and it would be such a great education to us all to see you working this way and hopefully advising on the gain staging issues that arise
First time here. Elektron and 500 series? Thanks algorithm :) Honestly, as I remember it, the initial reviews of the +FX were so focused on it's shortcoming that I kinda wrote it off. Good to be reminded that it still a solid option for some setups.
I imagine this thing as a hardware unit version of decapitator by soundtoys, a plug-in I am hopelessly addicted too. To me that alone could almost justify the cost but the filters and FX actually make this quite the tempting purchase. As someone who is also a live sound engineer I’m curious how this would work out in a professional live sound environment. Cheaper than stereo distressors
The best video about the +FX, but there is a thing that I can´t understand yet. Is it possible to use the effects in just one voice or it will be always used for the master? Thank You for the video!

Glad I could shine some light on the feature set. Haven’t had a chance to play with the UA pedals. I think the strong point of the AH is the modulation matrix. You can create some extraordinary organic textures and effects.

Came across a vid here the other day, from another reviewer, he did notice a slight latency when he tested the digital FX on this. So it's not 100%. You see... this has always been my main issue with these magical, obscurous 'all in one case', 'does it all' kinda gear, or boxes. One of the basic lessons guys: if something says that it can do multiple things, at a suppressed price point, probably it can't do neither of those properly... just more or less. Or on a "somewhat ok" level. I rather buy a proper delay, reverb or a distortion effect separately. One dedicated unit for doing one simple task. End of story.
It doesn’t, it sounds clean, it is not „thin“, but indeed it has that elektron sound, slightly muffled which i personally dislike, i have returned it in a werk
