We all have setbacks. Health anxiety is lifelong. Your experience sounds like the perfect storm and anyone would have been worried. Really appreciate you sharing.
I’m a recent high school graduate, and health anxiety DESTROYED my last year of high school… I had existential dread and was convinced I had Cancer, ALS, Lupus, and many other things until I realized I was suffering from anxiety. I was able to do that by watching your videos, so thank you so very much for changing and helping me through this dark period
I’m an extreme health anxiety sufferer, but I think it’s normal to have anxiety while having a health crisis! What you were going through was very scary and I don’t think most people would be calm. Don’t beat yourself up. Hope you get better soon 🤍
Don’t feel ashamed. I’ve helped many people in my personal life dealing with anxiety based in the same methods that you talk about. For some reason I still struggle at times to heed my own advice. 🤷🏻
Thank you for your disclosure & openness. As I go up and down on this roller coaster, I try to seek the deeper, underlying transformation process that is happening within me. Somehow I suspect I'm holding onto something that I have to let go of. I do have a faith that this process COULD bring about changes that I need to make, but all the symptoms & my RESISTANCE to them keep blocking my exit from the tunnel.
I went almost 3 years with no health anxiety until a lymph node under my chin grew to the size of a golf ball. After tests and a biopsy, it came back completely benign. It went away on its own. But it did damage because my HA came back in full force. I went almost a year recently after doing well, and it has come back. I think it's totally okay to gave set backs. I feel like I learn more every time.
I think just like every anxiety, it will follow you, but you have learned how to manage it. I think the way you look back at this "set-back" right now is proof that you're past the accute health anxiety phase.
Good luck for Saturday cherelle! Your videos really helped me when I was feeling hopeless and convinced that I was dying so there was no point in living everyday for an inevitable end. I'm doing a lot better now. I've sustained a rib injury after going on a fairground ride and I'm trying not to worry about my heart. All my obs are normal and I've got faith that my body knows how to heal itself and that I'm doing the best I can 💗
Don’t be ashamed. Set backs happen. You have my outmost respect for sharing. That’s being brave in itself. You got this. I just had a set back myself. We need to forgive ourselves and get back on track. Hugzzzz 😘
There is nothing to be ashamed of. Even I have got health anxiety again after almost 4 years, but with another set of physical symptoms. The main thing what I have learnt is acceptance that my anxiety would be coming and leaving throughout my life, and not trying to act normal in front of people when I am getting the symptoms. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I started suffering from HA in 2019 and these past two years were awful, I literally self diagnosed myself with every illness I could think of. I started to feel much better and had no anxiety in 2022, but these last week has been the worst ever. I thought I would not have to go through this again and here I am, feeling the worst I've ever felt. I find it so hard to wake up every day because I know I'm gonna be in pain :(
@@dee2759 I'm still not feeling great but I've definitely improved since writing that comment, keeping myself busy is what helps most. it's crazy how we feel good when we don't think about it and as soon as those thoughts creep into my mind i start to feel the symptoms again. i now give myself five minutes to worry and then try to focus on other stuff, maybe that can help you too x hope you heal ❤️
I'm 25 first time I went to ER when I was 17 because of racing heart, sweating, panic and chest discomfort my bad life started that day I have bad cardiophobia which brings scarey physicals symptoms like chest pain, jaw pain, arm pain, high bp, breathing shortness, ectopic beats, panic, chest discomfort I have visited many cardiologists many times they are like nothing is wrong with heart few days ago i was again in ER they they told me my EKG was abnormal (inverted T wave) I went to cardiologist the next day he once again said heart is okay still getting worse symptoms and visited another cardiologist he said the same. When I watched your video of cardiophobia i broke in tears because it happens to me and i can understand how it feels like when you're in ER and is told you're ECG is abnormal💔
Even people with no health anxiety would be nervous under a difficult situation. We are, afterall, just human. Don't be too harsh on yourself! We health anxiety sufferers all know that it isn't easy! Be proud of all you have achieved and everything you have done to help us!
Within the past year I have told my doctor about my health anxiety. Now it seems she is much more careful with her words, thankfully. I’m extremely triggered by certain words and discussing certain conditions. I hate it and I am working to settle my nervous system through therapy and changing my thought patterns. It’s extremely difficult because even talking about it gives me loads of anxiety
You’re only human, so it’s totally understandable! I’m glad you forgave yourself, and thank you so much for sharing with us! Also - Eye stuff IS SCARY! It’s like how you perceive the entire world and how you function every day, like it’s normal to freak out a lot over it! I hope it turns out it’s nothing serious, but if it is what your dad has - at least you will have your Dad help you deal with it and teach you! Praying it’s all gonna be ok! Sending you love! 💕
I have kerataconus my eye prescription changes a lot and what freaks me out even more google says cornea transplants In the last few weeks i get trailing in my vision in low light and i also see rainboes round lights now
I went to a&e today as I've been having chest pain the last week and they did an ECG on me and it showed 'ST depression'.....well that was it then, I was basically asking them am I going to die. There's genuinely nothing worse than health anxiety x
Bloody 111.. I've never known ANY good come out of using that service Cherelle.. every time I've called them they've told me to urgently go to A&E. For us it's the worst.. as bad if not worst than Google!!
I can not tell you enough how much this channel of yours means to me. I have very challenging health anxiety. I have big problem with my left ear. Hear heartbeat, pulse sound, and high low frequency sound. Do you have any experience with this?
Hey Siri, yes I can often hear my pulse in my ear, it made me worry but I asked a colleague in work and they said they had it all the time. This helped me 😊
Absolutely echoing my feelings about hospitals. Definitely feels like PTSD, especially after my lockdown hospital experiences. So glad you got through that, but sorry you had to. Fingers crossed for the best.
I’ve had so much anxiety through my teens and now it’s back and it’s worse and I feel so many pains throughout my body and I go to the doctor and I’m fine . Please tell me this is part of the process because my health anxiety is the worst
could u do more videos about ms and how to rule it out? my doctor dosnt want me to do a mri but ive heard that many ppl get misdiagnosed with ms so im very anxious
My mother has severe.ms.was.misdiagnosed carpel tunnel.syndrome.and anxiety she had a MRI and even got confused on first MRI but found.losts on second I have fybromyalgia.thought I had ms had MRI but in lot of pain muscle pain etc
Honestly if I’m having what I’m assuming is a medical emergency and they’re seeing drunken assholes ahead of me? I’m causing a fucking scene until they see me.
This is not a health anxiety setback. You had a perfectly normal anxiety response to real severe symptoms. Anyone would probably react similarly. Yes, your reaction may be heightened compared to how others may react, but this reaction is not quite disordered considering you were in an actual health crisis.
Hang in there warrior! Trust me I know it's hard. I battle everyday. When I fall or start going down the rabbit hole I start using all my weapons like meditation, affirmations, exercise, go heavy on my hobbies in order to keep my mind on track. Where focus goes energy flows. You got this!!
This is absolutely not a slip! The fact that you are not dwelling on it, and you took all the necessary steps means you are still BOSSING it. 🎉🎉🎉
