"When it's warm". LOL. Sorry, it's kind of funny. Since I know you didn't make the U.P., you'll need to come back. Then you can get to Lake Superior. August is about the time when it warms up...to about 50F! LOL...and yes, we still swim and recreate in it. Nothing more amazing to see than when the Kitchi gami (Lake Superior) has a storm raging. I've been there and seen 20' swells, the power of that lake is simply AMAZING! I hope you make another trip up here. I'd actually suggest going through Wisconsin, through the Keweenaw, through Munising and Marquette, on to Paradise to see the Shipwreck Museum and Tahquamenon Falls. From there go to Sault Ste. Marie to see the locks and the town, then back down through Michigan via I-75. Want a big haul? That's 3 weeks right there to really absorb it all!
When I was growing up my family spent the entire summer there at a then state park before the national park took the area over. Later on I went Salmon fishing there. Lots of great memories right there.
Abby not sure if you were looking for any specific rock along the shore. The Petoskey stone is michigan's most popular but hardest to find right in front of you as you need to find them wet. If you are in a "tourista" store, it is worth buying some that are polished and cut in various shapes such as the mitten. As always stay safe have fun
Idk if you’re still in the area, but I’ll be at black rock forge tomorrow if you’d like to see some wonderful blacksmithing equipment as well as a couple military jeeps. I floated the platt river with some buddies earlier this summer, what a ride.
Glad you are having a great time on your trip. I have lived in Arkansas my whole life but have traveled all over the US and Canada. When you came to Arkansas you reminded me how much i have not done in my own state. Will you be posting anything from IMTS? Can't wait to see more CNC, it will he an intesting journey to see you learn and grow.
What's funny is the Platte river runs in Colorado an Wyoming and in Nebraska it come in two points the north Platte river and the south Platte river and near north Platte they come through and it's called the Platte river an it dumps in to the Missouri river
Adam, and Abby, this is my home state and I'm proud to see you're enjoying yourself here !! Thanks for a great watch.
