Philippe Cirse -- Profound without being pretentious.....the pure Note, expansive and opulent. A rare gem.....Cheers from Acapulco!
Thank you. This is hauntingly beautiful music.
Great composer! thanks..
With its' gorgeous opening, lovely choral work, wonderful scherzo, and ethereal closing pages, this is a quite impressive symphony. I'm unfamiliar with the text, but from the movement titles I gather it may be spiritual or Biblically oriented. In any case, it's another fine work by Englund. (So far I've also heard his 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 7th.)
There is nothing 'biblically oriented' in Englund's choice of texts. It is in fact very unusual: a setting of fragments (hence the word 'aphorisms') from the ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus.
great
danke!!!
Wish i had the words for IV. "Past those who step into the same"
