How do you enable the left and right mouse buttons for Gaze and switch in TD Control? I have a sip-puff Switch and I use it in conjunction with eye tracking for gaming. I was using the program Gaze Point for years because it allowed me to use the mouse buttons with my sip-puff directly instead of dwelling but recently I got a new PCEYE with TD Control and it looks like Gaze Point is no longer compatible with this eye tracker. I saw there is a Gaze and Switch option in the TD Control settings but the only buttons you can assign as a switch are the number keys, the arrow keys, and a few other buttons but nothing for the mouse buttons. I'm not sure if there's another way to do it but I can't do any gaming right now until I figure out how to set the mouse buttons. I looked through the users manual for TD Control and it basically just says that you can use Gaze and Switch but doesn't really explain how to set it up. Is there a new version of gaze point or a similar program that does exactly the same thing?
Thank you for the question. You may be able to use Repeat Click mode. That is the replacement for Gaze Point. The sip and puff will need to emulate one of the switch input's that is available. There are 18 keyboard keys to choose from to emulate. Alternatively, if you need to right click as well as left click, you can customize the Continuous Mode menu and use Continuous Mode instead of Repeat Click mode. We hope that helps, but if there is anything more we can support with, please contact our technical support team directly at 1-888-735-1171 ext. 1 or via email at support.na@tobiidynavox.com. @@Tobiidynavox Is Continuous Mode dwell only or can I just use the switch and directly click on things? I use the switch for gaming because it's impossible to play video games with dwell.
@ I just tried Continuous Mode... Is there a way to fix the cursor lag when using a switch because when I click my switch there is a 1 second delay which makes it nearly unusable for anything. I also can't select any menu items because in Gaze and Switch you can't click on anything and the cursor doesn't move. I understand that you were trying to improve things and TD Control is a great piece of software but lacks a lot of functionality for those of us who need switch access. I wish you could have added a gaze point mode or a legacy app mode that included gaze point or an updated version with the exact same features. I've been using Tobii products for years and never ran into this problem. I still plan to continue buying Tobii I'm just a little disappointed.
Just like Gaze Point, TD Control is only for eye gaze. You have the option to use Gaze (with dwell) or Gaze & Switch. To change from Gaze to Gaze & Switch, you can go into TD Control's Settings, choose Activation, and select which Activation Method you wish to use. You can only choose Gaze & Switch if you have a switch. We have reported the 1 second delay to our team.
Regarding your issue with not being able to click on any menu items, please contact technical support. Anything you can select with Gaze you should also be able to select with Gaze and Switch.
