How does the brain work? What is neuroscience? What are neural pathways? How has our brain and neuroscience evolved over time? how does our brain impact our behaviour and emotions? Why do we feel certain emotions more than the others? What is the neurology behind control, risk and fear? Why we do what we do? Dr. Sid Warrier @Sidwarrier explains all of these questions and more on this episode of #TheJourneyWithinPodcast by Shobha Rana @ShobhaOnStage.
A large part of human evolution and your decision making depends on the fact that your brain loves risk. Neuroscience explained this theory in the recent years. In this episode we decode neuroscience and neurology behind fear, love, control, anger, behaviour and habit. It also emphasis on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for anger issues and other emotional irregularities. This episode discusses emotional regulation, crossover between neurology and psychology along with philosophy and spirituality. You will be surprised how much others know you more than yourself. Once we become receptive of the criticism and listen with objectivity.

@@dinazaman7418 very vaid point. valuing criticism and feedback is important for our growth. And it takes a lot of courage to “listen” and adapt. However, believing in every piece of criticism is also a sign of low self-esteem. That’s why emotional regulation & the journey within is so important 🙏

You are doing a nice job in hosting such thoughtful Podcasts, if you can focus more on listening and less on responding with your immediate thoughts, that would do wonders for the audience. I’m someone who learned Vedic sciences and Upanishads in early age of my life and been in inquiry of correlating the ancient applied science to today’s society and industrial/ corporate life for more than 25 years.
Shifting the paradigm from knowing to action needs support and as rightly said in this session teaching these techniques and tools to live a fulfilling life at school level would really work.
Best way to start is parents and teachers come together to alter their pattern and conditions, such that next generation is living a great life hereafter

Loved the conversation deciphering the complex paradoxes in such a beautiful way.
The existential wisdom and ephemeral self.
Emotional regulation and spiritual connection ie the integration of mind ,body and conciousness.
I am wondering why the levels of consciousness and human quest to be in that space and pursuit of happiness and peace wasn't discussed as there was so much of referral from Bhagwat Geeta..

Great episode. Thank you for bringing this program to you tube. I come to the conclusion that we are chasing a constantly receding finish line called success . It is a mirage not a reality as once we arrive at one goal , another one appears!!
One definition of success i like was from from Earl NightEngale who defined success as a "successive realization of a worthy goal". But our goal post moves constantly!

Employers and all the people in leadership positions needs to be taught this. Inhumanity and insensitivity is increasing so much at workplace that people are going through lots of stress. I work in an environment where every single person is feeling uncontrollable stress. In fact in our organisation it is believed that threats increases productivity and a good person who talks with respect with others can't become a boss.

This guy is wise. Knowledgeable, we all claim to be ourselves, but to have such clarity about matters related to life and that too with expertise in Neiroscience, says something about Sid. 👏

Excellent!! A truly rivetting talk. Sid & Shobha complemented each other seamlessly. The way Sid explained the mechanics of the brain and connected all of it to the overlay of our thought process was outstanding. Shobha was equally impressive in posing the most relevant questions which went perfectly with the flow of the conversation. I enjoyed the talk. Looking for more.

Brilliant podcast!! Through my quest of always 'seeking' explanation to the vagaries of our mind and a probable solution/course corrrection where need be, I stumbled upon this podcast. I am so thankful for it! You are such an ingelligent host- u shot so many questions! As for Doc Sid, any neurosurgeon is obviously intelligent. What sets him apart is his willingness to share his insights and in such a simple manner that it is effective to anyone who listens to it. So that is his super power❤.... Thanks again to you both!
