    TY. I routinely take Bifidobacterium Longum. Research shows it's abundant in the young, but declines with age. Causality? That's when people are old & get diseases. Just sayin'.

    Just subscribed. I have a mutation in my ccm2 gene which causes cavernomas. They recently discovered that the gut biome it related to the lesions that form. They found that patients that have cavernomas have lower levels of f. Prausnitzii and b. Adolescentis and have higher levels of odoribacter splanchinus. Have any protocols for that goal in mind… to increase the low levels of those two strains? Would you be comfortable doing an initial consultation? I dont expect you to be an expert on ccm diseases or for you to cure this… would be just focusing on those two strains that are low

    Hey Im new to this channel. Have you done any videos on biome stool samples of populations that eat little to no plant fiber? Like the Inuit or others. Maybe also with current individuals who are following a 0g fiber diet like a strict carnivore diet? I know some research has been done like the study - The Inuit gut microbiome is dynamic over time and shaped by traditional foods - but Im not sure how much we know about this. From what I understand populations with 0g plant fiber, populations that eat almost entirely animal proteins, have a diverse and healthy biome. I know research is showing our ancestors ate very small amounts of plant matter, and we're in fact almost entirely carnivorous apex predators for 2 million years (Tel-Aviv study 2021), and obviously there was very little access to plants during the 100,000+ years of ice age. Also its probably important to note that basically all plants we eat now are man-made and never existed in nature in their current form, or at all. Some expert insight would be great. If you havent done a video it would be really helpful. Many thanks.

      Good questions. I don't want to write a book here. The original fascination with the indigenous peoples living in the arctic came from their lack of cardiovascular disease due to omega-3 intake. However, they have a slew of other health issues. Yes, we evolved with a lot on animal protein and fat, but they were hunters AND gatherers. Also, they had a tough life, and there are no records. But my guess is without famine or accidents they wouldn't be living too terribly long. If you look around the globe today, the longest lived women are from okinawa, and the longest lived men are from sardinia. take a look at their diets. also you can watch my video on supporting the keto diet, i talk about how a high animal-based diet is not good for the microbiome

      @@TheMicrobiomeExpert Hi thank you for the reply, and sorry for the long response. I was specifically interested in the gut biome because I know stool samples have been taken and the Inuit biome was diverse and considered healthy. Wouldn't that research contradict the idea that a meat based diet is not good for the biome? I thought that the biome would adjust to what its given, so if you're eating a diet with a lot of plant fiber that the biome will adjust for that. But would that mean its healthy or just that it will just be healthy for that type of food metabolism? Thats what Im wondering. It just seems illogical to me that our biome would have selected a negative health outcome in response to our species specific diet (meat based), so Im trying to understand what Im missing. Or if Im on the right track and in fact the studies on the Inuit indicate that the consensus may be wrong.
      There was a study out of Tel-Aviv University in 2021 showing that we have been carnivorous apex predators for around 2 million years - Humans were apex predators for two million years, study finds - these are stable isotope studies of nitrogen. Humans have the highest level recorded. The higher the nitrogen level, the more meat consumption. So we ate a lot for millions of years. Top of the food chain. There's also other evidence to suggest we were more hunter, than gatherer. Including coprolite samples found during the 100,000+ years of ice age that have no seeds. I was skeptical about the Blue Zone study. He based it off of questionnaires and the data was post-ww2 data. The Okinawan diet changed radically after ww2, and apparently it didnt accurately represent the diet of the centurions. Theres information and interviews with Okinawans where they say pork was a big part of their diet. And of course the only cooking oil they used was lard. They did obviously also eat plants, I just think that the amount of meat Buettner claimed they ate may have been off by quite a lot. Sardinians eat a lot of lamb and cheese. The idea that they are plant based isnt correct from what I understand. We used to have a house there actually. Beautiful island. Food is incredible. Thanks again for engaging, any response to those points would be great, its a fascinating topic.

    What happens if i have this bacteria 3x higher in stool test than normal?

    • @TheMicrobiomeExpert
      @TheMicrobiomeExpert  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I'm assuming we're just talking about bacterial count. Possibly nothing. there are wide variations in all facets of the microbiota, and nothing is really established as "normal". However, there are shared themes. The key question is "do you have symptoms in your gut or a diagnosis". To take a deep dive, you'd need a consult.
