How about when they support a facist coup in Bolivia who's leader president is now in jail for massacres of indigenous protesters during their short lived coup government. Does France support democracy when it coerces its former African colonies that democratically decide to loosen the colonial ties that still bind them to France? It's like you have read the US state departments official line without a single ounce of skepticism
Good points, everybody is looking out for their best self interest but you can't deny that the west are the only ones with a modicum of morality. Or at least they feel guilt for the actions they've made in the past
Unfortunately a lot of people use this as an excuse for magical thinking that Russia or China, countries that don't even pay lip service to human rights are better.
Bruh what tf did america do in Bolivia that’s not our business and not our fault no matter what. And until someone invents a way for the US economy to survive without Saudi oil then they can get the weapons, way the world works. You’re confusing democracy with geopolitical influence
These are *regional* powers with overlaping perceived spheres of influence. They are each waiting for the one to face plant to move into each other's backyards. They might be cooperating militarily but China and Iran are already deciding on how to take over Russia's sphere's in Central Asia and Caucuses before someone else like Turkey, India, or the USA moves into some of the countries in those areas. Another problem is that China is on the verge of being a global power, rather than just a regional one. They should be the clear leader of a coalition. But the other two nations will not accept Chinese leadership even though they would naturally should have to be junior partners in comparison with Beijing.
These days, most countries, especially developing worlds, want to be more independent, rather than being controlled or intervened by external powers. China, Russia, Iran, in a general sense, consistently pursue a foreign policy of non-interference in other countries' internal affairs and thus, various countries somehow feel more comfortable to work with these big nations than cooperating with western powers, especially in the areas of trade and investment.
Have you not seen any of the Chinese propaganda and talking points being parroted by the media? China is constantly interfering in internal affairs, our own president is taking bribes from them, movies aren't allowed to criticize China, media isn't allowed to talk about Chinese concentration camps, or how they're harvesting organs from political prisoners to sell on the worldwide organ market.
China does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, which is written into the Chinese Constitution. Iran is too preoccupied to interfere with other countries. Since the Soviet Union, Russia has only done less in interfering with other countries than the United States, not without doing so. It is just that Russia's economy is declining and its ability to intervene in foreign countries has weakened.
The primary problem with the US is it fails to recognize that societies develop uniquely in diverse circumstances. Imposing democracy on other nations does not guarantee immediate transformation into an American-like society, as it can have devastating consequences and cost lives. While post-WWII changes in Germany, Japan, and Italy were successful, these countries had a long history of development and modernization, unlike the distinct situations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria.
Germany , Japan were different because they lost the war and up till now , I wouldn't even consider them sovereign nations. Just look at the amount of American troops in their country. Part of the reason why Germany and Japan are successful economically is partly due to their culture , bureaucracy and work ethics. On the other hand Italy is not exactly successful, they have a "southern" problem which is an extremely low trust society. Read Francis Fukuyama " Political Order and Political decay" You will get what I mean.
@@wyattcole5452More injustice and corruption occur in Saudi Arabia, where they even murder Western journalists. Why didn't the US military invade there?
22:27 This is a bit niche, but a fact supporting that thesis is that during the very first 24 hours of the full scale invasion, the Chinese Ambassy of Ukraine (if i'm not wrong) advised its citizens to either stay at home instead of evacuating, or proudly display their chinese flag on their car, as if it would grant them some special form of protection. Their advice was taken down and scraped off their intranet within like 2 or 3 days before they advised to the contrary.
Also the bias of state censors on their intranet in the very first 24 hours pointed strongly toward almost arrogant certainty of Ukraine's fast demise. Anti-war publications were taken down within hours while radical ultra-pro-war publications were kept online for days while literally trending.
Of course China knew. Chinese concerns were the reason for the delay of the invasion of Ukraine - to Russia's detriment. So there is one reason this "axis" is flawed from the start.
@Ivan Laplante Not just the first 24 hours of invasion. The staunchly pro Russian stance and censorship of anti war pro ukraine sentiment continued until the successful counter offensive of Kharkiv. Then over night, a few pro ukraine contents started to pop up if you search for it. Even today, pro Russian/ anti west anti NATO narratives get front page trending status while pro ukraine content are just barely allowed. You still have to self censored to a high extent avoid getting banned or worse.
I love how Chinese diplomats tried to claim ignorance on this. Chairman Xi just declared that Beijing has a “No-limits” alliance with Moscow yet they had no idea that Russia would invade Ukraine so they aren’t responsible for not trying to stop it. The world does not trust China because the CCP lies, they’re caught in lies, then they lie again to cover up the original lie.

@@Emilechen Lol Communist China have nothing to do with Qin. The Warring States ruled via divine legitimacy, China rule and acts via Communistic domination. There is zero connection to be made.
One important thing you forgot to mention is Israel's stance on Iran's nuclear programme. In short, the Israeli government sees Iran's nuclear programme as a major threat and they have stated that any further expansion of Tehran's nuclear power will be seen as a cassus beli to which they would respond with a preemptive strike(and not necessarily a bombing strike but a potential nuclear warhead strike, even though Israel denies international claims of their posession of nuclear warheads)
All the more reason for Iran to develop it's nuclear and other defense capabilities then. Because Israel and it's nuclear weapons presents an existential threat to Iran. Because you so casually mentioned using nuclear weapons on a country like it's acceptable behavior.
I am not sure Israel have the international standing or prestige to withstand the backlash of a nuclear first strike. US will more than likely not aquiece at an operational level, the potential fallout of a nuclear arms race in ME, and normalisation of nuclear first strike will create much greater issue for US than it would solve for Israel.
Remember that many people thought the First World War would not happen because everyone was making too much money from trade and would not jeopardize that. Economics is a factor, but the main drivers of war are Fear, Pride, and Self Interest.
War is a fairly natural thing we’ve been fighting since we first formed into tribal groups The main problem we became far far to good at killing men War almost keeps the world fair One power rises becomes fat and lazy only to be ripped apart by a stronger hungrier opposition Ie mongols vikings huns etc Somewhere along the line it all got a bit mixed up Once upon a time if you killed the general you won the war Then commanders started not aiming at each other
Not at all, those are the means by which the rulling class sells to workers that they need to fight other workers in a distant land. War is always about economics. US oil industry benefits a lot of all its wars, not because the lazy analysis of them being robbing oil, is not about that, US has plenty of oil and gas in its own land, but markets are about controlling the prices and by waging war, destroying potential competitors and making countries abide by US rules is the way they control it, selling always high even though the world has plenty to give. How much oil US robbed in Ukraine Russia war? Basically none, but sanctioning an entire and big oil and gas manufactorer that is Russia and selling to all its in need customers already made US oil and gas sector huge gains. The same strategy was used with The Fruit Company, and you cant forgot that US was rich, but after ww2 and their contracts to repair europe, the US construction sector gained huge amounts of money. So there is no such thing as morals and "fears" its the interest of the few at the expense of the many, nothing new.

Cooperation is the best form of human organisation in all levels. From family to international relations. Humans are social animals and we were like in 'cooperation' with each other then. Or it can be called as 'Fraternity'. According to an Indian leader, B.R.Ambedkar, who was the chief architect of the Constitution of India once stated that 'liberty' and 'equality' exist in a state only when there is 'fraternity' among it's citizens. The great ideals of democracy Liberty, Equality and Fraternity are thus justified.
That is a naive understanding of the west capitalism. As if there was not class warefare in the 'free' democratic world. As if the western capitalism was not hostile towards the worker class.

Recent relations between Iran and China seek to renew this ancient relationship.
History offers a convenient way of sorting things up. But relying too heavily on the historic lens does not necessarily bring one closer to the reality. Take the fear of China as an example. The whole rationale seems to be that simply because of the size of the country and its position as a "rising power", China is bound to represent the opposite in everything and pose existential threat to the "free world". And because of China's close relationship with two enemies of the US (but one never questions China's closer relationships with other countries, like Brazil, Pakistan, or in terms of trade, the EU and Japan), you may easily draw the similarity from the WWII era (when China was the victim!). But given specific path of development, China is unlikely to choose the same kind of aggressive expansive strategy as Russia, or revert to traditionalism like Iran did. China's "close relationships" with these two are largely due to the same logic of "diversifying supply chain" that the West has been pursuing. Both sides are worried that the other side will cut off the supply (for China, it was resources and energy) once relationships become antagonistic. The irony is, because of such "supply-chain security" concerns and the success of de-globalization, the relationships are indeed becoming more and more antagonistic.

It is not simply east v west as there are multiple countries in the “east” which aren’t aligned with either China, Russia or Iran. It is also important to remember that NATO is a defensive alliance, not an offensive one and modern NATO contains many countries (like Poland or the Baltic States) that have a history of being occupied by a colonial power (ie Russia). Of course every one has a bias and that shouldn’t be seen as a problem in and of itself as long as it doesn’t preclude someone making accurate assessments given accurate data. Bias is part of what makes up someone’s personality and constitutes their values. In this the Western bias is a given for Kings and Generals as they are from Canada. I also just want to add that for those who hold democratic values close to hart a western bias is natural extension of that as they are the main democratic block (western doesn’t mean geographically west in this case, Japan and the ROK is classified as west as I mean it) in the world. I am not saying of course that the west is pure good, nor do I think that Kings and Generals is saying that, every country in the west as every other country has bad or even truly awful history which includes many human rights violations. Every country in the West has at some point ignored or put in second place the values which they proclaim to uphold in the name of their interests, though this doesn’t negate the value of ideology. Your response is valuable and I hope you find value in mine. I wanted to point out in a long winded way that bias in and of itself isn’t or shouldn’t be a problem and that ideology still has merit (politics isn’t just realism).

Iran and China had very close relations since Parthian dynasty in Iran and the Han dynasty in China. Iran guaranteed the western end of the Silk Road and provided a safe land route to the European and Mediterranean market and China’s manufacturing provided the basis of a very lucrative trade route from which all benefited. This relationship only collapsed in recent history when West European countries discovered shipping routes that precluded the land route.
Russia is constantly interfering in other countries affairs. What are you talking about?
China does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, which is written into the Chinese Constitution. Iran is too preoccupied to interfere with other countries. Since the Soviet Union, Russia has only done less in interfering with other countries than the United States, not without doing so. It is just that Russia's economy is declining and its ability to intervene in foreign countries has weakened.

Russia is so uninterested in not interfiring in other nations that they invaded Ukraine, Georgia, Syria, Chechnya and many otherd just for fun

Cooperation is the best form of human organisation in all levels. From family to international relations. Humans are social animals and we were like in 'cooperation' with each other then. Channel is generally informative but pretty biased. Human rights? Think you're conveniently forgetting Iraq, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Guatemala, Chile, Argentina, false pretenses for war, support of Khmer Rouge, concentration camps, and chemical weapons. No country is without blame, but pretending the West is a shining spectacle of human rights is just propaganda.

@barcelonafame Wasn’t trying be so angry, but stating just how broad the similarities between every alliance in history are. Alliances from the BC era aren’t much different from their 20th and 21st century counterparts.
“Russian commentators welcomed this development, viewing it as a positive shift in the global correlation of power and as an appropriate response to America’s sponsorship of NATO’s expansion. Some even sounded gleeful that the Sino-Russian alliance would give America its deserved comeuppance. However, a coalition allying Russia with both China and Iran can develop only if the United States is shortsighted enough to antagonize China and Iran simultaneously.”
― Zbigniew Brzeziński, The Grand Chessboard: American Primacy and Its Geostrategic Imperatives
Eh,The West and its allies like Japan are still top dog and there are many obstacles to China becoming that powerful. Iran has a crazy theocratix Islamic extremist government and China a one party state, basically.
Trump nearly did that
yes Iran and China had very close relations since Parthian dynasty in Iran and the Han dynasty in China. Recent relations between Iran and China seek to renew this ancient relationship.
And it will and be successful for current times. Congratulations.
Clear
The Chinese are literally involved in border disputes with nearly all their neighbors. They are demonstrating aggressive intentions.

And destroy evil… anyone who helps u is evil … glad to help u understand … good and evil …. I am one the side of good … see u at ur next house party … I will bring my best friend utinPay …
