I hope this is not the end of the Ottoman series at all. There's a lot more to cover from 1453 to 1922 and it will probably take another 5-6 years for K&G to cover that much history of the Ottomans if videos aren't released frequently...Overall good job and thank you K&G!
I love when you compile the entire series into one long documentary while expanding even further with new details! Thank you kings and generals for all the work you do! We are spoiled!
@KingsandGenerals hmm yes I must watch it to exploit it! Thus I can tell my wife the next 6 hours are critical work time and I must not be disturbed by visiting family
Congratulations on your new longest video! =P (Almost a full 30 minutes longer than the First Crusade one.) (And in all honesty I like these long-form consolidated videos as well as the individual short subjects.)
However I see that you have a problem with the letter "Ç", this is basically "ch" in English. For example, Çandarlı Halil Paşa would be pronounced as Chandarli Halil Pasha.
@esttrox5881 3 of them are Oghuz, owner brothers are from Azerbaijan and the other one is from Turkey yes but their presenter is an English speaking Canadian
I totally can’t wait as well especially because the thirty years war and hopefully you will do a series on the 80 years war and I also can’t wait for your 30 years war compilation because during the war the Scottish played an interesting role because besides serving in the Swedish army there was one Scottish soldier who betrayed his own country and joined the side of the imperials and his name was Count Walter Leslie and he was also a diplomat and he achieved positions like the rank of field marshal the title Count of the Holy Roman Empire and he was awarded positions like governor on the Croatian military frontier, imperial ambassador to Rome and Naples in 1645 and ambassador to Constantinople in 1665-1666 however besides these positions he is also best known and infamously known for the assassination of Albrecht Von Wallenstein and like when emperor Ferdinand the second dismissed him as a general and indicated him as a traitor wallenstein was reported to have let out his frustrations to Leslie and Wallenstein even confided in Leslie his plans to join forces with saxe Weimar and Leslie was also the first to bring word to Vienna of wallensteins assassination and therefore the emperor met him first and then Leslie and his fellow’s were rewarded handsomely by the emperor for their efforts and Leslie’s reward for assassinating Wallenstein was Trčka's castle, the town of Nové Město nad Metují and some other properties as well as the imperial golden chain and when he died Leslie was buried in the Schottenstift which is in Vienna and the Schottenstift is also known in English as the Scottish Benedictine Abbey.
As a Turkish history fan I must say most of the documentaries I watch about Ottoman Empire on TH-cam are full of inaccuracies and only explain from western history tradition's perspective without proper archive work. I appreciate how this channel tries to break the bias and explain the events from a more neutral eye. You seem to be putting a lot of work and attention into it and I appreciate this a lot, it's really enjoyable to watch your videos! Thank you for your work.

I am Turkish, thank you "Kings ans Generals" for showing so much attention to the Ottoman Empire. I know of fact that, although the Ottomans hold important historical importance in Europe, they never get enough attention in European schools and European history classes !
I think that it’s not covered because as you reach the end of the Ottoman Empire, there is some insidious conflict between neighbouring nations. I think it’s all interesting but some European countries still have problems with somethings the Ottoman Empire did, how do you explain the Janissary system without it sounding like a very strange type of slavery.
@@truefact844 The janissary system was not slavery, parents who learned that their children were going to be janissaries were very happy because they knew that they were going to live a very high quality and high level life. You cannot live a high level life with slavery.
If there is one thing that this period of history proves, it's that Christianity and Islam were rarely if ever political "sides". Christians fought against other Christians while fighting alongside Muslims, and Muslims fought against other Muslims with the support of Christians. The sides were dynasties, territories, and individual power players, not religions.
@jesseberg3271 Think you got it wrong. People back then did get more angry when a militarized peasant heard that his village or his cousins/brides/fathers village gets sacked by people of opposing faith. It's not a coincidence that the campaigns were called crusades as well as that Murad called on jihad to call in numbers. Nevertheless it's blissful to have internet & be able to zoom out from the magnified outlook & appreciate that Muslims & Christians bleed the same. Any religious hate today is closer to self entitlement & narcissistic behaviour than of radicalised or conquistadorian nature.
@@georgestoyanov5387 i dont think he got it wrong . many european cities/kingdoms willingly sided with ottoman empire for their own benefits. even in crusades as you mentioned , crusaders sacked constantinople , people from their own religion, for money. governors of constantinople worked with ottoman empire during the siege for money. few ottoman princes worked with european kingdoms against ottoman empire. even in crusades , it was barely about religion ,mostly about benefits.

This is an incredibly well-researched and well-presented video. The details are stunning and the narration is amazing. I learned a lot about the Ottoman Empire and I'm really impressed with the depth of knowledge that went into making this video. Craving for more.

Être fort comme un Turc (‘to be strong like a turk’): This expression originates in the 15th century when the Turks had a reputation for being strong, almost unbeatable warriors due to their numerous victories. At the time, the Ottoman Empire ruled large parts of south-east Europe, north Africa and western Asia. It is said that François I, King of France, was gifted Turkish armour by Suleiman the Magnificent (the tenth and most famous sultan of the Ottoman Empire) during their alliance. When he wore it, he is said to have exclaimed: “Here I am now, strong as a Turk!”.
I love these long form documentaries, and this one was absolutely epic. Thank you so much for making it and sharing. You guys have taught me a ton over the years. God be with you out there, everybody. ✝️ :)

The video does an excellent job of showcasing the significance of the Battle of Kosovo. While it’s often overshadowed by the fall of Constantinople, Kosovo marked the Ottomans as a rising power in the Balkans. The symbolic weight of this battle resonates even today, especially in the complex histories of the region.
Hey Kings and Generals. When you make more videos of the crusade can you cover the Crusade of 1197, 5th-8th crusades, Baron's Crusade, Lord Edward's Crusade/9th crusade followed by the Fall of Outremer.
@KingsandGenerals if you guys do go with it and cover it all of them I would imagine at least 2 compilation videos being made soon after. The first one would contain Crusade of 1197, Crusade 5th-7th.
