Ditto! I feel like it would be more natural to act among your cast mates and play off each other. I think it was why some of the dialogue felt more natural to hear like what you would find in a live action.

I always thought that the cartoon would have already been drawn, and then they would watch their own scene and act upon it, the fact that it seems like they just read the script and have to visualize the vibe is really cool, super talented cast.
Most cartoons usually do this. It's easier to match the emotions and lip flaps don't get all jank. I think some shows did use storyboards alongside the acting but most tv shows have a tight schedule and this is the most efficient while keeping quality the best.
The animators would be doing the acting for them if that were the case. Once the voice work is done, the art team has to do lip synch. It's one of the hardest tasks in animation. It's all about patience and timing.

all the voice actors did amazing but J.k did such an amazing job I watched the think Mark speech like 100 times just blown away by the performance I felt the anger, sadness, regret, disappointment in his voice.

They're so professional. Having such quality actors must make recording so easy. They seem like they need little direction and they must rarely have to do multiple takes.

I thought the industry standard was to record individual actor's separately against temp v.o. actors, then splice them together. Glad to see this more organic version

I love seeing voice acting translate so well in animation. Getting in the booth and doing scenes is one of my favorite things and I’d love to work with such great talents as these someday.

Might be a little bit of both. When you act you tend to subconsciously take on your characters a little bit it’s kind of unavoidable
