  • **Disclaimer **. This is a video I recorded at the beginning of this year in January and never posted. But as we approach the winter season, I know a lot of people hang it up for the season when in reality, winter time is some of the best backpacking you can do… with the right fear of course. I’m no expert, and I can’t guarantee this gear and clothing system will work for you, but it should give you a good starting point if you are looking to extend your backpacking into the winter months! Feel free to comment with your questions, advice, or any other tips you have! Thanks for watching!

Good video! Thanks for putting this together. I’ve been thinking a lot about getting out this winter and how cold I want to get out there in. I was looking at getting that same quilt or the 10 degree. Do I really want to get out lower than that??lol I have the 20 degree. Anyways, how cold you think the Nemo Tensor and pad can go? Thanks again.

I would get the zero if you already have a 20 degree. For me, any time it is going to dip below 30 degrees, I switch to the zero degree quilt and the xtherm. I could push my 20 degree quilt further, and have, but if I have the zero I might as well use it lol.
I’ve taken my tensor pad down into the high 20’s and been okay. Adding a foam pad underneath will allow you to go colder as well!
