    Now if it's going to get cold then cotton isn't what you want to be hiking in. But let's say you hike in the Grand Canyon and it's hot. Then cotton isn't necessarily a bad thing. You can soak your cotton shirt and it stays wet longer to help. Keep you cool. But generally, the old adage cotton kills is a good rule to follow.

      That’s true yes, but I can do that with polyester as well, and know it will still dry out. Wet cotton tends to bunch up and cause irritation to me at least. Depends on the situation I’d say. Thanks!
