@@ah5721 - Agreed. I mean it may not make as much sense to spend the same percentage of money on clothing. But dressing well is a good idea, for oneself, one's spouse, and one's kids (who can learn style too). Like Jeff said, buy less pieces, but focus on quality, versatility, and more classic style. So, the same pieces will last quite a while in terms of wear and stylishness.

I'm now pushing away from wearing Air Jordans even though I love them.

I agree with everything you've said. I went to see a friends child play her violin in a concert. A tailored seersucker jacket, cuffed chinos in a room full of "whatever". I wanted to respect the child's big day. She noticed. I went to a street festival on the walk home. Honestly, people were treating me like a prince. Wear a suit, JUST BECAUSE. It made me feel good and made other people smile. I've stepped up my shoe game and gotten to know some sales people at higher end stores. I was steered to a black velvet sport coat that I might never have found without talking to "the guy". 70% off. It's good to make friends who know stuff and will help.

It shouldn't be that hard. It doesn't have to be slim fit but I'd definitely go for jeans with tapered legs, no break. That is, an inch or two shorter than he probably wears now. It works very well with sneakers, desert boots, Chelsea boots etc. I'd pick deep indigo color which is very versatile. It goes with black sweater, white shirt, brown leather, almost anything.

I really appreciate your videos, my G. In my 20' and early 30's, I was a killer with my wardrobe. As I got older and now live in the suburbs instead of the fashion capitol that was the city I lived in, I noticed I let a lot of my style go. I realize it's even more important as I get older to maintain a quality fashion mindset and wardrobe. Its harder for me to get a good cobbler and a good tailor in my area. So quality and fit is important. Thank you for emphasizing that and helping me recapture that passion and flair for looking good. Salute!!!

Great video Jeff. I just bought a pair of black casual -dress boots from Nordstrom. You really did a great job of making a video geared towards us older guys. As a 56 year old man, I can relate to this and say I now what a man my age should wear. I have 4 pairs of the sneakers you mentioned ( two white, one black , and one brown). The majority of my jeans are dark denim, and I have an abundance of v-neck sweaters in my wardrobe. I plan on buying a new blue suit in the future and I also have three watches that I wear for casual and dress. Thank you for the fine video and keep up the good work my friend!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh this was an awesome topic. I personally embraced getting older (plus this salt and pepper was not going anywhere) years ago. All the styling ques you touched on are some of best ways to look good as you get older. Very good tips Sir. You are doing a fabulous job!!!

Excellent tips as always OG. As a Sixtyish man who dresses for a living ,I get so vexed when I see older gentlemen try to rock 30ish styles. There are plenty of stylish options for the older foppish gentleman.

Don't you just hate this sagging of pants by our younger generation! It makes no sense to me. Yet I see celebrities and those who are considered high profile with their dang pants sagging. Maybe do a segment on what not to wear just because of a trend

I'm almost 40. I find if I dress young, wear short sleeves, deep v necks, fitted clothes, etc It makes me work harder to stay lean and fit. It keeps my potentially developing flaws in check.
I tried dressing my age and covering up but I got out of shape real quick. I had a to spend a year to get back in shape and it was tough to balance alongside my professional job and family responsibilities.

I like a Harris Tweed Sport Coat for Autumn and early Winter. I'll dress it up with a tie and dress slacks or dress it down with a Turtleneck and dark blue jeans.

Pawn shops and thrift stores are good places to find watches and shoes, or anything really. I found some Ferragamo shoes, Burberry trench and a few nice watches. If something needs some work, you can always get it fixed and it's still a bargain.

Thanks for doing these videos! I’m 62 and, to be honest, I’m a v-neck tee and jeans guy. Always have been and I look pretty good in them. I’m slim and in decent shape so I feel I can get away with it, but you advice interests me. Only problem is, some of the dressier wear I just don’t have many occasions to wear it. Anyway, thanks again and I’ll keep watching.

I love wing tips on a man. 😉. And that 2nd pair of Gucci loafers you showed? ❤️❤️ Great color! But buying that statement piece? Yep, I’ve bought a couple in the past 6 months. Almost like some kind of rite of passage as you get older. 😉. But it was money well spent, so hey...
    Great video! 😊.

50+ here, from the U.K. . Love your vids. I went for dark denim jeans a few years ago, good choice. But your pic with a “Hawaiian” shirt, dark denim, and black dress shoes? No. Just... no.

@2:42 Being a grown ass man who is lucky enough to look highly neanimorphic, I started wearing made to fit slim fit suits after making a lot of gains with workout and the keto diet.
He is 💯% right, fit IS king, you will turn heads every where you go!
ALWAYSSSS Pay careful attention to detail like, pocket squares, cap toe shoes, double monk strap shoes, full cut shoes, your belts, overcoats with your suits, ect..
Figure out what cologne pops with your body chemistry and make it your signature scent, I guarantee you, you do not have to talk to women, just smile and let them come to you!
Women notice the self love and self care, and they find it attractive AF!

This is helpful, I didn't know what to get and now I have a much better idea.
P.S. I have leveled up my appearance but I have to admit, I DO keep a pair of Chucks with the fat laces, creased khakis, a crisp white T, and some brownies - just in case 😉

O.G, love the channel, and I appreciate the lack of foul language. Now down to business. I got to have those shoes you are wearing in the video on 8 August 2020, 8:04 into the video. You are wearing a white Polo, light jeans, and the shoes are light brown with a dark brown tip, maybe a half boot. What brand are they and where did you get them?
Russ, soon to be (CDR Navy Ret). Got to get my civilian game up!

I don’t know who made you an authority on men’s fashion style. Stick to what you think you know. I live in Italy specifically Milan. Walk in the streets of Milan on a beautiful day and you’ll see how guys really dress. Age isn’t a variable in fashion in Italy, Milan
