Very helpful to see, thank you. I didn't realize you could buy already colored acrylic from the hardware store. I'm thinking of doing this in copper for my kitchen backsplash; 10.5ft W x 14.5" H.
That blue acrylic is definitely a nice contrast to all that white. Nice job
may anyone inform what color number for those "green" acreylic? my kitchen acrelyic accidently eraser by thinner. Please help if any one know for paint color for those green or how to repaint partial

Great job! love it. Ive subscribed. Just a question. At the end on the outtakes the laundry tap was dripping,. can I ask how you fixed it as I have the same prob since I've just replaced my laundry taps on a laundry reno I'm doing as well. Thanks
A little more thread tape and another full turn to tighten it up did the job. Initially I was worried about stressing the splashback and cracking it so in the leaking shot it was still a bit loose. Hope that helps and thankyou!

leese27canadian thanks very much! Lots of careful measuring was needed. The old saying measure twice and cut once was true here ;) you'll see at the end I made a small mistake so it's definitely not perfect and not easy

I used Gorilla double sided tape, then water resistant silicone. The tape holds the perspect in place until the silicon sets up

I have a question - only because i'm curious but when you marked and measured pre-cut why didnt you just do it on the blue side ?? as you said it was covered with plastic both sides anyway ( just seems a lot of extra brain space to " mirror " your measurements ( just asking , not knocking , honest LOL ) gr8 video's by the way.
Good question! I think at the time I thought it would show up clearer for the video if I did it on the white side, but as you say you could easily do it on the colour side to save a small headache :)

Good job, good video, a tip with tape, roll off the back of the roll so you can keep it taught, if your not sure what I mean do it the same as you did in the video but twist it so the back of the roll is closest to the thread. Trivial I know but works so much better. Cheers thanks for your video. 👍 1 question, did you just use self tappers into the acrylic to hold the electrical switch? Thanks.
Cheers mate will have to give the tape method a go sometime. Nope, the wall has inset housings for the cable, so I just made sure the acrylic was cut in a shape that would allow the screws past it into the housing. The wall plate sandwiches the acrylic

Just out of curiosity, is the acrylic fire/heat proof? I would love to do this, but my stove top is at this wall.
Definitely not. It melted a little on the edges when I was cutting it with the angle grinder. Definitely susceptible to heat

Just a tip,your meant to turn tape on threads other way to what you did
Nope you put the thread on same direction as you are screwing the fixture. If you are screwing it on clockwise then you tape in the same direction - clockwise.

Yep coming next week just been busy with other projects. Also have a backyard renovation planned, painting concrete, spa installation, lighting etc :)

It will be out next week. Putting in a bench top and a few other bits and pieces to tidy up the job. Also, I have some new projects I have started which are coming soon including a back yard make over (concrete painting, spa installation and lighting upgrades) so hope you have subscribed! cheers
It looks great. But I was thinking maybe it would've been easier, and somewhat cheaper, to purchase Peel&Stick backsplash tiles. $265 dollars seems a little steep for the small space you covered. I hope I'm not offending, just trying to help for future projects.
Hey thanks for the feedback. Yes for sure I could have chose a few different options. I did think of tiling options too, however I like that there is one smooth surface over the whole area, I think it looks pretty nice. Thanks for watching :)
Nice job, I'm about to tackle the same in my kitchen. Is your power point screwed to the acrylic? That was my intention but I've read that I should cut the full size of the power points in the splashback and attach them to gyprock wall plates?
